    You are the only person on the whole Internet that had the exact washer that I have and had such simplistic instructions. Thank you so much as I have been at wit’s end for two weeks trying to figure this out. And I did not want to call a Maytag repairman because they will charge an arm and a leg and I don’t have either to spare. Your dad is a champion. And you definitely are. Thank you thank you so much!

    The designers knew exactly what they were doing with the placement of the drain filter. .... It is this way so you almost certainly will have to call a Maytag certified repair tech...great job lady! You rock! And the downvoter can suck drain water

    You're a lifesaver ❤️ No socks or underwear but plenty of dog fur and hair. Also about 60 cents in coins. Thank you so much for posting!

    I’m sure a million people have mentioned this but there is an access panel that your bowl is sitting on. E01 F09 is the code. It is all about drainage. Tip the washer against a wall to access the bottom panel with 1/4 nut driver.

    Thank you! Your comment that they should make this easier to access is 1000 percent correct! I can't believe it pulled your underwear in there! Unfortunately, my units are stacked so I can't get to the back very easily but if I can get a repair man out at least I'll know to ask if they can fix this. Other models had this "coin trap" in front but this one is crazy difficult to access! You're a rock star!

  • @killmimes
    @killmimes Před 3 lety +2

    Ok,though my Maytag is similar to yours, I found out that on my unit drain filter faces forward. I bested the engineering demons today! With my mighty hole saw of justice...I cut a permanent access port on the front of the unit! Tremble before me Maytag and weep!

    Good video, valuable info! Had I known about the filter, and the difficulty of reaching THIS one, would have chosen a different machine. I run two loads a day. This one grows MOLD like crazy. $200 for a new rubber gasket (over and over) but doesn't fix the mold growing factory (it's in this hard to reach filter.) Ridiculous design. Must be to keep their 'certified' techs busy. I call scam.

    • @killmimes
      @killmimes Před 3 lety +1

      I would take the filter with the gasket to AutoZone ormothe auto parts store and ask them to match a gasket...

      Just an FYI, there's another CZcams video that shows you the correct positioning of the guts of that drain plug so you won't get clothes coming through it. Yes it could be easier but it's really not that hard to clean. Seen way worse

    Next time, just tilt it back ward, and open the panel underneath, with 4 screws and you can reach this part trouble free,

      This particular washer does not have the toe kick panel underneath the door. My last front loader did and it made clean out so much easier. This video is correct, there is no way to access the clean out filter without going in through the back panel.

    Found about $2.50 in loose chance, car keys, drill bit, tweezers, etc in the filter. Clearly I need to empty my pockets before washing.

    If your washer is eating clothes I think your issue is something else? Have you talked to Maytag about this? Also when you do this you should go ahead and rinse your line buy dumping water into the tub and letting it drain back down into your bowl. You'll be surprised at much loose gunk is still in there. Great instructions overall.

    • @mrstiffanyalexandrashain4489

      I just run a clean cycle in my washer after. I add a tab bit of dawn and vinegar to my load every now and then and that helps to keep my lines from being gunky. The only time it stinks if something’s is physically blocking drain.

    Maytag used to be a good washer.. These front loading washing machines are made to break and to have so many service calls for this Horrid Design.. My last washer lasted me for over 40 years, but this new one is non stop trouble. Under ware, socks, and any other small item will get sucked into the filter then you have to be able to move your washer to get the back off of it and clear the filter.. Over and over again.. This is non stop and happening all the time.. Maytag is not the high quality it used to be, non stop service calls.. This kind of washing machine is expensive to have if you can afford all those service calls... I am an old lady and I cannot move that damn washer it is too heavy.. and I live on a fixed income.. Don't buy this washing machine it is nothing but trouble and expensive.. I have used most all types of washing machines from the old wringer washing machine to top loader and never had trouble like this with a washing machine.. I bought it because it uses less water than my old top loader..
    Save yourself the trouble and non stop trouble this machine has. Don't buy it , it is not worth it.. It is JUNK.. Who ever designed this washer put a lot of cheap plastic parts and they hide the filter clean out so you have to call a service repair person.. I have cleaned this filter so many times for a sock or under ware.. It ruins anything sucked into that filter... A washing machine that breaks at least 5 to 6 times a year.. Minimum payout for repairs are $150.00 .. And it is that damn filter..
