- Hi everyone 🥰 I have had a lot of people ask me how I mix my paints for my dutch pours, so I decided to make a video on my ratios for my acrylic dutch pour paintings. I hope this will all help you be successful in getting the results you are looking for when you do your next dutch pour.
💥I learned this ratio by watching Kanella Ciraco Art. One of her older ratio videos. I know since then she has made an updated version so you all should go check that out on her channel. She has different ratios for different brands of paint now. SHE IS AMAZING!
Feel free to reach out and ask me questions if you have any. I appreciate all the views, comments and everyone who has subscribed to my channel. The support has been overwhelming and I want you to know how much that means to me. 😍
You can also find me on Instagram at polly_prissypantsart for more of my creations. I hope you can join me and give me a follow there as well. Any support to help my channels grow is much appreciated 🙏. linktr.ee/pollyprissypantsart

Thanks for this, very helpful
Thank you for watching🥰
Thank you😊 more videos please🙏🏾
Thank you so much! More to come 🥰
Thank you so much! Once you've mixed everything how long will it last in the newly made bottles?
About how long will these last in a bottle? Thanks so much for the simple directions.
Hi I love the tutorial it’s easy to follow . The question I have is if u don’t have flotrol & use glue all would u use the same measurements ? Thanks so much
Thank you🥰 that's a great question. I have never tried it that way. Maybe you just came up with a new way 🤔
It never hurts to try. I don't know what the ratios would be though. Wish I could help you with that.
Thank you, your vid was most helpful!. Do you strain your floetrol before using?. 🙏🏼
No, but I definitely should start doing that.
Thank you so much for actually teaching the how to's of acrylic pours!!! So happy for these videos. Do you mix silicone with your base paint?
You are most welcome 🙏 My base paint is the same mix as my colors.
Silicone is rarely, if ever added to the base. When doing a swipe, the silicone I added wither to the swipe or to each color, but not both. This is,the only time I’m aware of that silicone is added to the base. I don’t use it as it’s just too hard to clean off before I resin.
Such a helpful video this is. Very informative and detailed. I am new to dutch pours so consistency is really a tricky part for me. Your instructions helped me so much. Just one question, what's the consistency of your paints like? Do they make mound or just disappears without making any mound? I use Liquitex pouring medium so the ratios will be the same? Please help!
Glad I could help 🥰 I would say my consistency is thin enough not to create a peak or mound. Paint dripped from the stirring stick melts right into the paint in your container or cup.
@@pollyprissypantsartThank you so much for your guidance :)
Thank you! So clear and straight forward. Love it! Where did you get your bottles and how long will the paint last in them??
I have gathered my bottles from the dollar store and michaels but probably could have gotten bulk from Amazon for cheaper. I think as long as the cap is on the bottle the mix should be good for a few months. I haven't had any problems so far. Just watch it and shake it well if it sits for a while before you use it.
Love this. Where did you get the white table cover?
For the Dutch pour pillow is it the same consistence?
Great video. Easy to follow ❤️ what’s your base paint for the Dutch pours ?
I mix the same way for my base and my colors so the sky is the limit. 🥰
Happy painting! ❤
I am in Australia and use the Australian floodtrol. What can I mix with it to make it thicker? I also use neutral door and trim.
Well, I don't know but I would try not adding the water. Maybe just floetrol and paint. I'll try and make a video on consistency. Maybe that would help those that only have that option. 🤔 Good question, thank you.
Great tutorial, one question do you mix all brands the same?
Thank you Kathy. Some paints are thinner or thicker so you will always have to adjust a little bit. If I was going to have you look for a good consistency I'd say Amsterdam paint gives the best consistency so base the others consistency on that brand. You can do the drip test to see if they all run down the paper the same. That helps too.
Is you base coat the same percentages?
Yes ❤
Are you able to just put that bottle on the scale and pour 80g in directly?
You definitely can! My scale stops at 100 grams so I have to weigh it all separately.
What give you the cells?
Is floetrol same as glue ?
I think if you diluted glue with a little water it's pretty similar but I have never compared or tried to replace floetrol with glue.
Does it affect the quality of painting if u measure the weight of paints , cause mostly of the artist I watched they didnt care about the measure.
I like the ratios I use and have no trouble with them flowing or drying evenly. Consistency is key in fluid art.
@@pollyprissypantsart wow thanks for the reply appreciated it
Thank you so much. May I ask, how long does the paint last in the bottles?
Floetrol sorry.
