Isaac Patino I’m having the same problem with my 330i I changed all wheel sensor and my car goes into limp mode and stays in one gear ⚙️ mostly four could it be my oil cooler
This is one major issue I have with OBD2, on any car. The computer is SUPPOSED to tell you what the problem is, but it doesn't. Often times you have an issue and you can get like 9 DTCs, only one of which is real. The first fault triggers all kinds of other 'ghost' faults. I can't believe we've had OBD2 26 years and this is still a major problem. It never should've been released like this...
Yep! That solved the problem on my vehicle, a couple of mechanics wanted to replace the whole transmission, and they where supposed to be a BMW specialist LOL. Hey please let me know how you did on your vehicle and please don't forget to subscribe.
@@TIPSFORDUMMIES Boss, youre a General. For everyone, I had the same symptoms as in the video posted here by Tips for Dummies. When I turned on the engine, in about a mile or so the Trans Fail safe would illuminate and kick the vehicle into slow mode. Also the tachometer wouldnt work and both temperature gauges, water and transmission oil would immediately go to hot and stay there. The tachometer wouldnt work as well. I read where it might be the ignition switch so i changed that first and the symptoms were still there. Then I read on another post to look at the DME and see if there is any corrosion but all the electrical connections were clean as a whistle. So then after reviewing this video I took out the head light a reached in and disconnected the ABS Control module and voila all symptoms of the vehicle disappeared and was brought back to original specs. I will continue to drive the vehicle with the the ABS control module unplugged. I put tape over where the plug plugs into the module to prevent water from getting in and corroding the exposed pins. Also i put the plug in a zip lock bag and taped it closed from water and the elements. I will send the abs control module off to get it repaired through Ebay for $129.00 - $159.00 as I have read their reviews on two different companies. Than you so much TIPS FOR DUMMIES as for 6 months I didnt drive the vehicle as the repair cost was going to be way too high. Some suggested dropping the transmission and changing out the solenoids. Ha, I knew there had to be something electrical causing the mishap. Thanks again. I drove the vehicle twenty five miles without a hiccup. Awesome.

So I bought my. 5 like 3 years ago it was still is super clean but this keeps happening to me as well minus the cluster going crazy but it’s not right away it’s right after 20 min plus highway time then it goes into this trans fail safe mode after that I cannot surpass 40 mph mark but it shifts great in the morning when it’s cold I’ve read that the transmission Oiler cooler was the problem on another fellow bimmer comrade and it was heat related for his x5 I have the same or about the same symptoms he described and I’m thinking about doing this here and hopefully it will work but it may not because it might just be the transmission Oiler cooler
Hey am having this problem in my x5 2002 when i am driving and I press the gas it goes in to trans safe mode the suv go slow or it show code output shaft speed sensor
So my BMW X5 e53 2003 totally stopped working last night I was driving and it come up on the dash trans failsafe mode It was going about 20 miles an hour when I was revving it fully and really struggled to pull away from a standstill Then after not even a few minutes it would not even move when accelerating and In gear I’ve got out of the car but left my lights and hazards on and after about 15 minutes when I got back in it would not start . I turned off my lights hazards and also turned my stereo off unplug my phone charger and it started up again. Before I had no warning lights on the dash but when I started it it showed an ABS light also the ESP light and I am not sure what the issue is. I am hoping that it is The battery that was not providing enough voltage to the ECU so it was bringing up fault codes that cut the transmission but my local garage today have told me that if it is not moving when you put it in drive then you need a new gearbox which is £1200! Can you please advise me on what you think it might be? I find it very strange that it was driving fine and it idle is okay but will not move and it does show on a reader that there is a connection issue to the ECU
Hey thanks for watching my videos, that's exactly what they told me on my BMW, they said I needed to replace the whole transmission. So I suggest you that before spending big bucks on the car, follow this video and disconnect the ABS module. If you vehicle comes back and runs normal you just found the problem all you have to do is send the macho to get a refurbished and you will have your vehicle back
@@TIPSFORDUMMIES I have disconnected it. It literally moved about 2 feet and that was it now it isn’t moving again. Very strange. And trans fail safe is gone but got the abs and DSP light on dash
Now I only get transfail safe mode in gear 2...the engine revs high before getting into the 3rd gear. Could this apply to my situation? I changed the fluid & filter & didn’t see any signs of catastrophic damage.
Hey Thanks for watching my videos! No, I don't really think you have a catastrophic damage on the Trany.
