Did a bridge over the river get clogged up? Is that why most of the water ended up on road? It seems like there is a problem with at least one crossing over the Rio Ruidoso every couple of years even without burn scars. What are yall doing with tax payer money? Get the army core of engineers to make sufficient crossings that dont wash out or clog up so often. This has been an issue for yall since time began.
No it is because of the fires. She mentions it in the video.
@@joycej9415 i did note the burn scars in my comment. Without retyping every word, at least every couple of years there is a problem with at least one crossing washing away or getting clogged.
@Blake4625kHz now I see that part of the comment. Maybe this will cause some work to be done on those crossings. I live in Alamogordo, foothills of the mountains. When neighbors up hill from me don't keep their property cleared, we get clogged culverts down at our lower section of streets. I mention because when the monsoons hit, the clogs happen in my front drive, so it might be that is happening to some degree there too? Hopefully, it will be engineered to help move flood waters better in the future.

Not Dew...Ruidoso is in the desert in the mountains, very dry this time of year. They have fires every year, some years are worse than others. Been happening for a very long time, hundreds of years at least, if not thousands of years.

So tragic for the whole area. But please, as a news announcer, pronounce the name of the town correctly. It is not “Ree oo do so”. It it “Roo ih do so”. Ruidoso is a Spanish word meaning ‘noisy’.
So sad that every time we see intense rains that cause flooding people start bringing up their invisible friend

New Mexico, the southern portion close to Alamogordo and White Sands, but in the higher elevation. It is a very dry area that has many wild fires, then flash floods (which are common in the desert).
southern new mexico. I can remember when riadoso was a small village.Two lane road not a four lane road up sudderth.... The overuse and abuse of resources and over crowding of the area.The mountain is not happy... They have taken beautiful grindstone lake and turned it into a playground...

It has nothing to do with climate, New Mexico is a desert and Ruidoso is in the mountains, very hot and dry. It is common for wild fires there this time of year. Plus, New Mexico has always had flash flooding.
