    The exception to number 5 would be crushers. Never revive someone while a crusher is on them.

    • @flailmail7069
      @flailmail7069 Před 6 měsíci

      You can if you time the revive so that the overhead wont strike while they are picked up, most of the time they will have time to dodge and you can always cancel the revive last second.
      Your going to want to be standing just outside the AOE of the overhead attack, which is a bit tricky to learn because its wider than it should be.

    I'd add to the rager tip, that if you've got a few of them on you at the same time, spam pinging them a few times can notify teammates that you need help dealing with them while you have their aggro.
    In regards to trappers, it depends on what's around the trapped player. If it's just a trapper, I usually kill the trapper first so that it doesn't have a chance to run away. If there's lots of enemies, I'll try to stagger or push them before freeing your teammate, and ignore the trapper till after rescuing them.
    For bosses, running away being detrimental is true for all of the bosses except the beast of nurgle. IMO, it's beneficial to position yourself to expose its weakpoint to the rest of your team while avoiding the vomit attacks. Sometimes this means running away in confined areas, or if you have room it can mean just turning the boss and dodging his vomit.

      And here I thought they were just being annoying... ahem. It's a good thing I'm a roamer

    • @xon0930
      @xon0930 Před 7 měsíci

      As long as it's not someone just spam pinging a single target to be annoying, usually it's someone spam pinging a group of threatening enemies to draw the team's attention to it so they can all deal with it. Sometimes it's packs of crushers/maulers, sometimes it's a group of ragers, either way, those kinds of packs usually require a team effort, and are very difficult to take down solo.

    All very good tips! Happy to see you making content like this.
    A major thing that irks me is players NOT marking. Having a 3D timed mark on important targets especially in dense hordes is very useful. Like marking the trapper while picking up a teamate; even if I couldn’t kill her we know approximately where they went and where they’ll be in the density . Not only is it helpful for tracking disablers that got away, it helps pinpoint what enemies are being focused on, attacking targets with purpose for target priority is important. Bonus tip: target priority on given context is something I see a lot of new and returning players struggling with. Whether it be a lack in confidence if their build to handle certain armour (maulers/crushers) or simply not knowing things(such as how low health flamers, trappers eg actually are and how important killing area denial enemies is… by extension reign of movement is also very important, not being able to move somewhere because of fire is very dangerous)

  • @swordsman1_messer
    @swordsman1_messer Před 7 měsíci +11

    I will disagree on handling bosses and reviving with Trappers in specific cases.
    Beast of Nurgle often try to grab onto their focused player, both in melee with their hands, and at short range via tongue. If the map allows it, kiting is a much more safe option while allowing your team to get easy access to its Weakpoint; the key to effective kiting is to use routes that give your team the most uptime on inflicting damage. However, this strategy is very useful on the Plague Ogryn, Daemonhost, and Chaos Spawn.
    As for rescuing trapped teammates, I have personally seen more teams wipe because the director had an additional trapper spawn and move in during the rescue. Instead of moving in immediately, ensure you got enough time to pull off the rescue and move elsewhere by giving the area a sweep and picking off what can ruin the attempt.
    Otherwise, great tips.

      @PengWin707 Před 7 měsíci +2

      If you've got a ladder, you can kite the beast of nurgle real easily. and I agree with rescuing. You gotta take a second and assess the situation...check for additional specialists, stun or knockdown the nearby mobs and then go for a res. B-lining directly to a downed teammate isn't usually the best option

    • @jtcLIVE
      @jtcLIVE  Před 7 měsíci +3

      There's always exceptions to the rule, but the general point of the matter is that people should always aim to rescue sooner rather than later if the situation allows.

    • @YourSponsor
      @YourSponsor Před 7 měsíci +1

      The beast of nurgle can't grab you unless you get covered in its vomit (denoted by the screen effect that happens when it actually spews on you, NOT when you walk over the floor slime), so you can stay in front of its face forever as long as you bait vomit and dodge correctly. It's actually pretty helpless if you pull it off, you'd only need to start kiting if you get clipped by the vomit. Also goes without saying this only works with mobile weapons; power sword vets should just run.

  • @CasualTS
    @CasualTS Před 7 měsíci +6

    Getting the trapped teammate up first is a good idea unless you get hit with the "Oh shit there's a 2nd Trapper!" ambush. Had a team wipe happen to two Trappers once XD

    • @linearparadox9409
      @linearparadox9409 Před 7 měsíci +1

      That's because level 30 doesn't mean jack when it comes to skill. You can get a character up to lvl 30 in about a dozen hours of gameplay.
      The skills required to survive and thrive on the highest difficulty levels only START developing at 50-100 hours of gameplay.
      The hardest thing about the tide games is that everyone sucks at first, but few people can accept that fact. :/

  • @FableRev
    @FableRev Před 7 měsíci +2

    Saw the thumbnail and immediately thought one of the tips is to resist the urge of wanting to kill a pox hound mid air when it pounces xD

    • @thunder2434
      @thunder2434 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Push-block and kill it on the ground is better usually, but it is possible to side-step and time it to cut them mid-air too. The key there is to not just spam attacks in hopes of hitting it but also moving aside at least partly to get off line of their pounce.
      I find some weapons are fast and damaging enough to just spam attacks with at least on lower difficulty where hounds have less health. But it's less viable on Damnation.
      The best thing to do imho is to get your block up and sight the hound aiming the block at them. It makes them pause a short moment. Even pauses groups of them in a pack kind of like the holy relic but shorter and won't get them to back off. I think it's them recalculating how to jump past it.
      You can then rush them or push-block their jump and then get them -On the ground.

  • @CasualTS
    @CasualTS Před 7 měsíci +4

    Ah I didn't know the about blocking as you're rezzed, sounds useful in a horde!

    • @flailmail7069
      @flailmail7069 Před 6 měsíci +1

      Sadly they do not explain it well but you block while unnetting teammates too, which kind of makes "dropping what your doing to go revive immediately" a good reaction to have.

  • @ineedpineapples
    @ineedpineapples Před 7 měsíci +1

    Note for those Martyrdom Zealots: If you want to keep a couple stacks, but still want to heal up, save a med stim or two for before bosses. If you're comfortable enough with two or three wounds, you can still get lots of extra damage while not being an instadown for your teammates. But, if you aren't confident, don't let your friends down and take the medicae station. You'll deal more damage alive than dead

  • @thunder2434
    @thunder2434 Před 7 měsíci

    Great tips!
    In general the Rager is more of a problem for Veterand and Psykers in close combat and less for Zealots and Ogryns.
    I tend to trade blows in some situations with ragers though, as a Zealot mostly. Sometimes.
    Well... I need to explain I think, you can't just stand there and hit them and they hit you, but you can circle to get their forward facing attack sequence off line and get them from the side. You can dodge back and not get hit while they swing in the air but it's a desperate temporary remedy.
    You can hit & quickly block their attacks instead, and circle if there's room.
    Then there are times you do shield your teammates from a rager by stepping in front and just trading blows.
    -If your Zealot or Ogryn can tank it better than them healthwise and there's no time or space to do anything better. Though usually you can hit them from side or back instead to end their assault quickly.
    But I tend to always try to shoot them before they get close.

    • @curveofsound
      @curveofsound Před 7 měsíci +1

      Psyker against ragers are actually pretty easy. Purg staff primary fire, smite, and most other staffs have excellent stagger not to mention force sword block+counter (force push) and the secondary force sword attack which stuns whatever it hits. I find ragers are super easy to kill with psyker. Can do the same with crushers also and force sword.

    • @thunder2434
      @thunder2434 Před 7 měsíci

      @@curveofsound Yes I don't main psyker so I forgot you can build one that can do this.
      You can build some amazingly tough and close combat able psykers.

    0:43 “Even if using a zealot martyrdom build”
    Honestly shouldn’t even be using a zealot martyrdom build in the first place because it’s literally just worse than the other keystones + wounds are only useful if you are bad and get downed, and are an active detriment if you have more than 3 because med stims will heal less

  • @flailmail7069
    @flailmail7069 Před 6 měsíci

    You should almost always NEVER heal when you arrive at a med station, but tough it out until the area is clear and then go back and use it, youll enter the next area with full hp as a reward.
    The exceptions to this are: if your on your last down, if your teammates have no clue how to pick up (happens alot even in auric), if you know your going to need it to clutch.
    Same goes for deployed ammo kits, burn your ammo dry before picking up your 1/4 because its a 100% reload, use it to its maximum efficiency unless your ammo crate wasnt deployed when it was supposed to be because a vaccuum dropped it for himself outside of a hold your ground area

    • @flailmail7069
      @flailmail7069 Před 6 měsíci

      Same goes for teammates who are greedy and gobble up all the ammo and nades, if your not getting 100% use out of it you should leave it until you can. The amount of times i see teammates with white ammo pick up ammo in an area where we will be killing alot more is crazy. Fomo i guess? But really stupid fomo.

  • @endtrap101

    A tip I would add to list would be to not even try to headshot the maulers whether it's with range or melee( unless you're a psyker with brain burst ) aim for their bodies not only do they not have the headshot bonus it's actually the opposite

    • @andrewmarshall-rodenberg9626
      @andrewmarshall-rodenberg9626 Před 7 měsíci

      Yes and no. They still have a headshot bonus but they have carapace (heavy) armor on their head vs flak (light) armor on most of their body. For the most part, you're right: you should target their body instead of their head. The exception to this is if you are using a weapon or ability that has high armor pen, like the plasma gun (or the head pop), and if this is the case, definitely aim for the head.

    2:52 I disagree with this point wholeheartedly. The AI may intend for the trapper to run away, but I’ve been in a situation where it absolutely doesn’t. It led to two trapped players and a team wipe. I always kill trappers first because it’s just as time efficient.
