This song is like a fucking freight train crashing into my heart and bringing back all the memories of the worst three years of my life when I was in my mid twenties and everything that could have gone wrong did. Started out amazing at 23 with an amazing job, sober, in love, no debt, optimistic and full of hope. Then by 26 I was homeless, alone, unemployed, addicted to drugs and out of shits to give. I am now 27 and things are getting better. I have never heard this song before and it was almost like a PTSD flashback. I froze while walking to my brothers house, and was brought back to a moment where I was drunk, trying to sleep under a bus shelter in the rain, and whispered "If only I could hold you, I'd be okay," then passed out. I think my dad put it really well when I was about to move out on my own at 19 "Be careful out there, keep your wits about you. You don't get to 30 without some damage,". He was right. I wished I believed him back then, I could have spared myself a lot of pain.

So this song reminds me of what happened a while ago basically i took part in the lines project and my friend notices the lines in pen and asked me why i have pen drawn on my wrist and i told him that i was taking part in the project and so i showed him the colours of pen while i was covering my scars from s**fh*rm and he pulled my other arm away and he saw the scars and he stared crying saying that he could never understand why i would do that to myself and that i shouldn't ruin my skin like that and it reminded me that there are good people left in the world

This song is like a fucking freight train crashing into my heart and bringing back all the memories of the worst three years of my life when I was in my mid twenties and everything that could have gone wrong did.
Started out amazing at 23 with an amazing job, sober, in love, no debt, optimistic and full of hope.
Then by 26 I was homeless, alone, unemployed, addicted to drugs and out of shits to give.
I am now 27 and things are getting better.
I have never heard this song before and it was almost like a PTSD flashback. I froze while walking to my brothers house, and was brought back to a moment where I was drunk, trying to sleep under a bus shelter in the rain, and whispered "If only I could hold you, I'd be okay," then passed out.
I think my dad put it really well when I was about to move out on my own at 19 "Be careful out there, keep your wits about you. You don't get to 30 without some damage,".
He was right. I wished I believed him back then, I could have spared myself a lot of pain.

So this song reminds me of what happened a while ago basically i took part in the lines project and my friend notices the lines in pen and asked me why i have pen drawn on my wrist and i told him that i was taking part in the project and so i showed him the colours of pen while i was covering my scars from s**fh*rm and he pulled my other arm away and he saw the scars and he stared crying saying that he could never understand why i would do that to myself and that i shouldn't ruin my skin like that and it reminded me that there are good people left in the world
