  • This is a side-by-side comparison of the Kalencom Potette Plus and the OXO Tot Go Potty. These are two of the best foldable travel potty seats. Both can be used as a toilet seat reducer or stand alone potty. The Potette Plus can be used with a reusable liner or disposable liners, while the OXO Tot potty can be used with disposable liners.
    These travel potties work well for babies practicing elimination communication and potty training toddlers. Watch through the end to see how each of these potty seats fit on the big toilet.
    And it really is pronounced "Ox-Oh" according to the brand website! I used to think it was "O-X-O".

    hi there, can you please tell mw which size of planet wise bag you have and if there is an equivalent product in the UK as finding it hard to find it over here. thank you.

      @ECpeesy  Před 5 lety

      Hi! The Planet Wise Wet/Dry Bag I use measures: 12.5" W x 15.5" H and is a little taller than necessary. The Logan and Lenora Portfolio shown measures: 14" W x 11" H. It fits the Potette Plus fine but just barely fits the OXO Tot travel potty due to the 11" dimension. I hope that helps you find a similar sized wet bag from another brand.

      @@ECpeesy Thanks so much for this info. I'll have a look. Do you have any tips for gently helping a just 3 year old (girl) to potty train. She gets very distressed if she is nappy free and needs to go to the loo, to the point of holding herself. I have no idea where this has come from (she doesn't attend nursery/preschool but her little brother arrived when she was 21 months). She has never liked the idea of using the potty or the training seat on the loo despite us gently asking and she watches us all the time! We have never tried to formally train her and are happy to do it at her own pace. She has lots of nice big girl pants which she loves to wear but as soon as she needs to go for a wee she cries asking for her nappy to be put back on. Occasionally she'll go and put a pair of pants over her nappy on her own! My main thing is that I want to help her when she is ready with hopefully no stress or distress at all for her and to do everything I can to avoid her retaining as I know this can be difficult to fix. I'd love to help her feel happier about the idea and not be distressed but as I'm not sure how it started I don't know how to deal with it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Her brother is now 15 months and I hadn't realised that there was such a thing as EC. Perhaps we should try and help them together although he seems a little young to me. We have 2 mammoth car journeys coming up in June (6 hours each way) and July (12 hours each way) so do you think its worth starting before these? Thanks in advance. Much appreciated.

      Hi. Sorry, I'm just now seeing your second comment. I included some recommended books on my list of potty training supplies. "Oh Crap, Potty Training!" is an approach that might work well for both of your children. 18-months-old is a recommended age for early potty training, as the child is usually more open to learning and less resistant at that stage than and older child would be. Another book that might be a good fit for your daughter is "The Complete Guide to Potty Training" by Michelle D. Swaney. If you haven't already started, I would recommend waiting until after your car trips, at least for your son. With younger toddlers it can take longer to be completely accident free, plus they tend to need to stop frequently to pee on road trips. Wishing you the best! www.ecpeesy.com/potty-training-supplies/

    Hello! Do you think the potette plus would be suitable for EC from newborn in lieu of a top hat potty? Trying to optimise supplies!

    • @ECpeesy
      @ECpeesy  Před 2 lety +1

      I find the opening of the Potette Plus a little wide for a newborn. I think my daughter started using it at 3M old. The potty I really like for newborn through independence is the Babybjorn Smart Potty. We've been using that with our current baby from birth through now at 7M old. I start out using the insert in my lap as a top hat potty.
      But we do still have a Potette Plus with collapsible liner for travel! 💜 Heidi

      @@ECpeesy okydokey! That's the way I will go then I think too, and just keep the potette in the car 🙂 I wanted to say thank you so much for all the advice you have shared on your channel, I am slowly working my way through all your videos! You are so kind and gentle with your advice, as well as quite specific which is helpful!

    Is it possible to use the Potette silicone insert in the Oxo potty?

    • @ECpeesy
      @ECpeesy  Před 5 lety +5

      It is possible to use the collapsible silicone liner on the OXO Tot travel potty, it just doesn't fit as well. The insert might lift up when your child gets off the potty.
