    Man I’m so glad you made this. I sold my r5 last year and bounced around until the xh2s came out and I think it’s so incredible. I started a channel when I got it and have been a huge fan. I shoot wildlife and had been planning on buying an xh2 as a second body but as they announced it, I got really skeptical of how it would hold up. I made a video about how it’s not a great option compared to the slightly more expensive S and I took a LOT of shit for it. Glad to see someone with more presence than me having the same result.

And, you have done some beautiful portrait/fashion work in the past with the XT bodies. My dilemma is over glass. I like portrait stuff but also youth sports. I rented the 56 and was blown away. But, that doesn't help for sports. I've been thinking that the 90 f2 might be a good choice to cover both(no, I can't afford the 50-140!). Trying to make the most out of my money. Theoretically asking, you own an A7IV and hate the 1.5x crop on 4k 60 and would like to get the XH2, you just said the 4k60 on the XH2 wasn't the greatest and the A7IV's 4k60 is downsampled from 4.8k. The X-H2 has less crop but less of a lens selection from 3rd party, would you still keep the A7IV and just go wider like (17-28 from tamron?) or would you get the X-H2 and something like the 17-70 2.8 from Tamron. I'm having a hard choice deciding between the two cameras and would really like to have your opinion, i'm a fully hybrid worker and would LOVE to have film sims again to just aim and shoot with Kodak 400 loaded into the settings, but I'd prefer the video specs of the A7IV since I do make money off of it.

    Xh2 sounds like a partner you used to date. There but not quite there. Xh2s feels like sounds that vibes with you and connects on a whole level. Less insecure, more relatable and more consistent. Maybe not as glamorous but is fast and responsive when it counts. I am torn between two worlds. And feel that I am dwindling on having an affair. Really, I should go with my heart and get the xh2s, or should I be enticed by the glamour or high resolution and crop ability. Maybe it’s me. I need to frame better and get the shot. • @kylehessling2679
      @kylehessling2679 Pƙed rokem +1

      @@cammackey pulling green screen keys for virtual production is the only time it’s worth dealing with. The 8k raw from the R5 ends up keying around hair and small details surprisingly a lot easier than the 6k on my bmpcc6k. It’s not that a good key can’t be pulled from a 6k image, but with higher resolution, you have a lot less work to do in getting a nice clean key. Even if I’m mastering in 1080p, it makes the plates blend a lot more naturally once the key is taken in 8k
it’s obsessive perhaps but I hate doing green screen work if it’s at all obvious that it’s being keyed lol again, still will probably go with the 2S but that’s a minor fringe benefit I’m seeing with the H2. Might sell my pocket 6k and get both lol

    what up cam was curious what you think about this: I currently run with fuji xt4s for wedding cinema + photo I have a wide range of lenses what frustrates me is the autofocus and the stabilization for video. oh and also that it overheats on me at important scenarios like a wedding ceremony after recording continuosly for about 25+ minutes. Really contemplating switching camera systems maybe to the canon r5c which I saw you said it was like the canon r5 + red komodo but not sure of it since it doesn't have image stabilization. I'm searching to see what can solve my issues since most of what I do is really fast paced and constantly having to shoot fast change lenses be handheld with video and also switch to get some stills as well. Because of this i'm not sure which camera system would be best to switch too or if I should just upgrade to xh2s and that will solve my problems. Thanks for your time and response in advance!

    There are many photographers who use a full frame DSLR, or shoot 35mm film campaign to pretty known brands and there's no way they could zoom in and crop the image like a Medium format camera would. Do you think it's a major consideration for brands? They really ask if you shoot medium format? Or, just that these film shooters doing a campaign - would just take an extra close up shot on the product and they'll be done with that limitation easily?

    • @cammackey
      @cammackey  Pƙed rokem

      I’ve filmed on sets with big fashion film photographers, 90% of them shoot digital on gigs hahaha. But like fashion editorials and ish are way slower pace. Really depends on the brand and what they need. But cropping comes less down to just cropping into details but more of wider use. Say they want a hero shot for their home page website.. but also want to crop that image for IG.. and then want to run social ads at 9X16 verticals of it.. or say they want to crop one side out and put text on the other side.. like all of that helps to have more MP. And more of my working photographer friends are still shooting with 5D MK 4s and barely looking into the R5 haha. They don’t care about gear all that much.

      @@cammackey 1.First off- that is fuck*n interesting, as film Photographers display only their film work, but you say that most of their day to day shoots are done on a digital (they just don't share or display it on their IG/Website?)
      2. The example you gave with the cropping feels like that when shootinf with the GFX- all of your shots could be full-bodied, and that the actual composition finding would be done in post.
      Gotta ask, how much 1 GFX file weighs? And how many images does a client get at the end? Cause this could get pretty heavy, pretty fast. With clients mostly using images on their IG+Website - even a 5Dmk4 image size is an overkill

 for commercial clients for print work - in-store work, are you shooting medium format?

      R5C. Most campaigns I’m on are insanely fast pace. Producers and creative directors are always trying to cram a million looks in one day. The R5C is my safe camera, it’ll get me great quality at 45mp and can easily be edited, RF zooms are insanely handy and have GFX quality optics. I’d be okay using the GFX100s but I’ve done that once and the clients complained about the files being difficult (large) for their in house team to handle
