Nicki.Love23 for me it was every Saturday morning on Moody Radio at 8:30 and Down Giliot Lane was on at 8:00 both were family requirements on Saturday no matter where we were.
This brings back so many fond memories of listening to the show with my family back in the 90s. To me the sweetest sounding theme is the 1991-1998 version, which was a very upbeat, enthusiastic tune. The latest version(2009), to me, sounds very depressing and mournful. Interestingly it seemed to come in use after Paul Herlinger passed away. I wish they'd bring back the 1991-98 version.
dvferyance I'm saddened because it came on Moody Radio on Saturday/Sabbath mornings for years. Then 2 years back Moody yanked it off. I always looked forward to listening to AIO, now I don't even know when it comes on nor what the latest episodes are. I've gone to Whits End's website but the episodes I've seen listed are older ones. I hope the series is not ending yet.
You aren't missing anything if you haven't heard any post 2008 episodes it's like a whole different show. The live episode would have made a great last episode but they had to ruin that.
+ACLTony Yup. All of those characters mentioned. I actually enjoy the new Odyssey. Not as much as the older ones, but it's still worth listening to. One of my favorite episodes (Wooton's Broken Pencil Show) was from 2010.
This seriously made me cry it brought back so many memories!!! I still think of the episode where Eugene learns to drive whenever I see a car on the side of the road that might have someone in it. I used to listen to AIO EVERY NIGHT as I tried to fall asleep. There are so many episodes I listened to so often I could quote them word for word. AIO kept me sane growing up.
I also still use the St. Ives riddle, I learned it from AIO when I was in probably 4th or 5th grade... I am not 22 and recently graduated from college. I still have all of my old tapes and CDs and you better believe I will be introducing my kids when I have them
You know what's funny? I had one Adventure in Odyssey tape but after that I never really looked into the series but I would always listen to the story and years later when I saw the character designs, Witt looked EXACTLY like how I imagined him when listening to his voice.
I loved it most when they did that little fifteen second compilation of clips. They were actually pretty hilarious sometimes. Example - 4:08 (Jack) What's the use in taking a bath? I'm just gonna get dirty again. (Zachary) _Get_ away from me. (Eugene) The pain of self-sacrifice is quite stimulating! (Zachary) I _don't_ care. (Glenn) Of course, there's no reason to be afraid of the Earth blowing up. (Connie) ...Okay, well, who wants cheesecake? See? Perfect and utter randomness.
