It’s about time we see some VMP action in the fermi world sub 10 street cars and an older version at that. Not many peeps posting these. Thanks you so much.
Thanks a lot man! I plan to push the 2.3 alittle harder and see what it does! Next spring should be fun, stay tuned!
Yeah man , Zero complaints with my TVS 03 Cobra. Other people complain I dont drive it enough tho lol
Nice ride brother! Thanks for sharing
Wow really impressive for a Gen 1 VMP.. Hopefully the car will be back soon 🙏🏻
Thanks a lot, it’s been fun and I hope to push the little Gen 1 VMP blower even more.
I am taking my time with the car, I had to address safety or the lack of any!
E85 with a 8:5 to 1 compression short block
Should have went for 11 to 13 to 1 compression with e85@@A2DRacing
You went with Ford GT cams like they're a huge amount of difference
You could have left the stock heads alone and got a simple rebuild
Got a aftermarket set of valve springs and cams
And built a 11 to 1 compression motor @@A2DRacing
Jist an opinion here so take it fwiw
Icing can cause serious damage, all materials shrink and expand with heat and cold , a fast cool down can Crack stuff . I asked my tuner here in Delaware ( Smyrna) about his thoughts and he says don't do it ..
I agree that icing down “may” cause damage.
I think/have read that it can cause the case to cool and shrink faster than the rotors which could lead to rotor to case contact. I have not personally witnessed this though.
While I do understand cooling hot metal can cause cracks, I think it’s less likely in this forum.
Another issue is melting ice and dripping water on the starting lane!
Either way, I no longer ice down my blower!
@@A2DRacing good deal , not worth the risk . I was gona write all that out but didn't wana come off like a prick. Hopefully others will see your reply and take heed.
Here's to a highly successful and Safe season brother!
@@dtcdtc8328 haha no big deal, if I can’t take a-little criticism (especially when it’s warranted) I don’t belong on the internet!
Thanks a lot and same to you.

Yeah man , thanks , my commentwas more informativethan criticism 👍🏻. My 03 is just a cruiser , it's the only muscle car I've owned that hasn't been to the track. Its at 42K miles now. I got it with 8K on it in 2010. Also black , but a 10th .. I'm gona sub to keep up on how you're doing . I'll live the real race car life vicariously through you lol .. can't imagine what race fuel costs now ugh ! Diesel just hit 6$ a gallonin Delaware ( FJB!) . Take care bro ! 🇺🇲
That’s lot of power might be happy dyno
It ran 9.73 and trapped 148 mph with a manual trans and an irs out back. It's making a good amount of power.
I have a similar setup, Gen 1 TVS 2.8 upper only, OEM cats , Mac cat-back , cai, FORE fuel system , everything elae stock , it made 638whp on a 94* day. Not saying "happy dyno" machines aren't out there but , those 1/4 mile times seem to match the dyno numbers
How do u like 28.10.5 on 355 gears ????
Wow, no IRS upgrades or half shafts? Nice!
Very impressive for little supercharger……
Nice car!! Can those tires hook on the streets? What size r u running up front?
I do run this same setup on the street (MT ET Drag Stiffwall 28x10.5x15.) you have to be careful with slicks on the street considering and wet roads.
I run MT Sportsman S/R’s in the front
Are you power shifting no lift or no ?
A2D Racing, do you have a how-to or a link you can provide on home porting the 2.3 VMP?? Or just tips? I wanna push my 2.3 before going bigger blower but would rather do the porting myself. I've searched the web and can't find anything on tools or how to port. Anything is appreciated.
I do not cover “at home porting” at all. Some work could be done yourself but you can ruin a blower pretty quick if you don't know what you are doing. I am not a porter or experienced in porting enough to give any sound advice. I simply looked around at current port work, asked questioned to a few smart folks and took the risk.
It's hard to get folks that do this for a living to help out a DIY’er. Shoot me a message in Facebook.
@@A2DRacing I don't have a Facebook, but I will tell my buddy that does to reach out to you. He's the one that asked me if I knew how to port these blowers. I'll tell him to reach out.
Much appreciated!
Wow. This is not a 2003 Cobra, it's a built racer. Be honest in the description.
Badass. I'd assume the block just needed a rebore and a new #7 piston?
I could probably get away with that but I want to go alittle further with it. Keith @ wonder racing will be setting me up with something fun!
What where the power gains from
porting the blower?
I wish I could tell you. I didn’t do any back to back comparisons
Wow, great times for a small gen 1 vmp blower!
How hard is it to port your blower? Was the damage shown at the end solely a result of forgetting to turn on the IC pump or was it just too much timing?
It was the result of forgetting to turn my IC pump on while running too hot of a tune considering running a stock computer that doesn’t have programmable safeties.
A less aggressive tune or just turning on the IC pump could have prevented this.
I’m not blaming my tuner at all, it was my fault.
