Another great collection of beautifully handcrafted tools. I have a doubt about your 4th solution. Seems to me that with that tool that cutting edge is non a line but part of a circle. What are your thoughts? Have a nice day. Maurizio from Italy.
Hi, I have an idea for a four whell dolly made to move heavy items like a safe etc. I would like your input, if you are interested. You could make the idea your own project if you like it.
I loved the finish you achieved on that chisel. And Japanese plains are beautiful objects. I have seen the competitions they hold to see how thin they can go.
As always, super cool and functional designs from my good master engineer! Thank you so much! Have you still not considered my request to see your face🤣🤣🤣🤣. That amount of precision is kind of robotic, that is why I want to see the kind of human you are - too special. Once again, thank you Sir/Madam!!💯/💯
It's so easier, faster, and cheaper for me to take all my sharpies to a near by carpenter shop and have them sharpen the lot for few bucks. You're exhibiting tools, machinery, and gadgets worth a wealth to make an artizan's point. I felt I'm watching a Spealberg's movie.
Ingenious as usual from this channel.. Simple project which works, and I can do at home.. In fact, with Japanese plane I have biggest problem is remove properly part to sharpen.. Please, please.. 🙏Some universal portable workbench, for horizontal and vertical wood fixing, removable legs, and possibility to place in the middle electric router, electric plane, with rails and/or holes? All solutions on utube has some "but".. Many thanks for your production. ❤️
When you tighten the chisel or plane blade in the holder how do you make sure it is exactly square? If it is off from 90 degrees the edge of the blade will be off angle as well.

I saw it first all in kanji (like this one)which I skipped. I'm not into mystery vids but later saw the title in English and I still skipped it as I have all the sharpening jigs I need, and your projects are made of expensive components which are high quality but detract from my original purpose of woodworking. I'd rather spend money on beautiful wood than on expensive jigs. If you look around CZcams there are many other jig makers with PDF's that completely explain everything with components made of wood etc.
Type 2 has the advantage of working on any width of sharpening stone. Though I think I would have used carriage bolts rather than large machine screws.
I fixed a toilet today with a rubber band. When I showed my father what I did, he said to me that he would have never thought of the rubber band idea. I can’t say that I actually had this innovation come to me by way of my own capacity. Because I’ve watched your channel regularly, and religiously, for so long, I’m partial to let you take the credit for my toilet invention. And now, I think I had better buy some chisels. I’ll probably need some Jack planes soon, too…
i made very similar jig to the last one, the issue is when you want to resharpen it's hard to find the same place unless you decide to like press the back of the knife against screws for example. I found it super quick but can be tricky to get used to it if you want to go multiple knives at once

Variable angle mechanized sharpeners are truly phenomenal, *but there's also such thing as getting knives MUCH too sharp and pointlessly so.* My father did that most of my life and one day when cutting a can to prop on a target at the shooting range, knew the angle he used was a bad tactic, the knife slipped and he severed the tendon on his index finger which required surgery. Last year, I had a very sharp knife slip off the frame of my 4-wheeler I was scraping paint off to weld, it hit the *EXACT* same spot my dad did 31 years ago, and I had a viciously deep cut that fortunately for me as a virtuoso musician, *didn't get my tendon.* *It's a terrible habit sharpening hand tools and knives to a surgical level of performance.*

@@mauriziogio I thought the same thing but I imagined going full circle and then it was clear to me that there's no arc. The blade is alway flat.

@@repairtech9320the surface is flat. But the edge is a circle. It’s the intersection between a cone and a plane.

Deine Videos sind schön und lehrreich anzusehen, vielen Dank
The first one is just about as simple as it gets!

Ripeto quello che ho già detto..... elegante, pulito, efficace!!! Il mio No1!!!

Japanese don't have plains; they have only mountains.

Вот это мастерство 👍!!!
the last one is a JEWEL but seems very hard to build
What is the spray you use when you sharpen? Is it a certain oil or is it just water? Thanks for the video!!

What type of glue is that for the magnet to small wheel?
Seems to be epoxy glue.

good job

No “bricolage”, only “Artisanat”.
Domo Arigato Gozaimasu Sensei.
For once, I am going to add a little joke : it is a lot of work to cut paper-bands.
JSK I emailed you about not getting the additional rigs for the electric hand plane that I purchased and never heard back. 😔
