Man. My grandma used to have 3 border collies on her farm and they were just the best dogs ever. They shed a TON but they loved just running around outside. They had a doggie door that was always open for them and they'd always go on hikes with us, go swimming with us in the pond, no leashes or collars required. R.I.P. the best 3 doggos I've ever known
I don’t imagine that scenario to be much better than when my neighbor took home a Labrador/Husky mix puppy with two adults four children and a new baby in a condo. Destined for life in a dog crate before even being potty trained. Constantly fluctuating between overstimulation and being punished for becoming more agile and active. The dog would be left all day with a sitter for the baby who I swear left him tied outside to a heavy grill teetering on their retaining wall. He was all tangled up in his leash, and since it could have fallen on him, I decided to knock on their door. The sitter said she wasn’t good with dogs that’s why he was out there, and I spent a good ten minutes hanging onto him while I got him untangled. I swear they seemed like they were trying to kill him from the moment they took him home he just got worse. He would Constantly pull when walked and whine incessantly when he was left alone for hours in that crate. Sometimes I would just sit on my porch and talk to him through the window and that seemed to calm him down. It’s hard when you know an animal is being not only mistreated by someone, but being made so fractious and unmanageable by an abuser that a perfectly healthy puppy can no longer be placed with anyone afterwards. It’s like this animal version of ‘if I can’t have you no one will’ that those types of abusers try to isolate those animals from anyone that tries to reach out. First they ‘re-homed’ him... then he came back so he gets his hopes up... then they spend that time constantly reminding him of how he might have to be ‘put down’. I believe that was the ONLY subject of conversation in his final days with them. I never saw my friend Jackson again😾😢😿
@@elden5052 It’s so frustrating to see it and know what’s going to happen and watch them get moved around out of the way, walked at night, etc. Even the dog officer takes up to 48 hours to get back to anyone in my town and my walls are so thin they definitely could have heard any call made and gotten the dog out before.
I swear I saw an untrained collie managed to move a groupe of chickens, everytime a chicken was leaving the group the dog managed to bring it back. He was doing this all day.
I can believe it. A lot of herd dogs do it instinctually. We had one and a pet pig at the same time. He was always trying to herd the pig. I've seen them do it with children, too. In a very gentle and non-threatening way, I promise.
Some of the earliest cave paintings we have found dating back to basically the stone age have been drawings of prehistoric cave people with their prehistoric animal companions, who look a whole lot similar to modern dogs. “Man’s best friend” goes back further than anyone realizes
Actually, border collies are at the top of those lists for most intelligent dogs with poodles. They are awesome! I have two poodle mixed breeds and I learned you can teach dogs anything and everything you want to. They are all eager to learn. They are otherwise bored. They need that stimulation.
I had an Aussie/Border collie mix who never saw livestock in his life, but boy did he know how to herd KIDS! I used to bring him with me to school at the end of the year, and watching him chase and herd those kids was amazing. They come out of the womb just knowing how. Incredible animals. (RIP Dusty-boy)
Dogs were domesticated by humans so we literally created them. Dogs used to be wolves that attacked humans frequently until humans killed off wolves that were violent and breeded the ones that weren't. The end result are Dogs.
This is incredible! Animals definitely helped humans survive and thrive! We really should return the favor and care for them as well. Herding is especially mesmerizing.
had the chance to see a shepherd dog do his job in person. Was walking near a field and the sheep were about to walk on the road, dog ran and redirected them without even needing any command. Good doggo
I've seen a border collie do agility training at a high level a few times, their speed and intelligence truly is incredible, especially with such a close bond to their owner.
The herding instinct is very strong in border collies. My mother had a friend who had teo border collies, and they would herd walls and furniture by circling endlessly around those objects.
When I was 7 my parents got me a border collie (my favorite dog). I trained him to do a lot of different things, but I absolutely hated mornings so I taught him to steal my covers and wake me up for school. Best dog I ever had!
Seeing them do their job is amazing. When I was in the military, we had training in North California. This group of cows were blocking the road and wouldn't move out of the way until out of nowhere this collier runs down the mountains and clears the path, so easy. His owner had sent him from up the hill. It was awesome.
These dogs are fantastic! If seen video like this before, there are even contests showing what Border Collies are capable of. They are also GREAT PETS.

Man. My grandma used to have 3 border collies on her farm and they were just the best dogs ever. They shed a TON but they loved just running around outside. They had a doggie door that was always open for them and they'd always go on hikes with us, go swimming with us in the pond, no leashes or collars required.
R.I.P. the best 3 doggos I've ever known
you diddnt have to add that last line :(
@@funky555 I mean they already started with "used to have". They just wished them peace
R.I.P to those 3 dogs
@@brisaquina8816 but too sad :(
Why you make my cry
This boi living his best life; I can’t imagine him living in an A
appartement.
@@MonsterMacLLC that’s infuriating 😡
Should be considered animal abuse.

Such a sad story of what could have been so different. Some people have no common sense at all.
hence why i ignore the so called metropolitan pet lovers
I just love watching these dogs work- it's pure joy for them ❤
I have a border collie mixed with an English springer spaniel. He's a great dog and very energetic.
I love listening to the Shepherd calling the dogs. Its like their own special language.
He said that’ll do that’ll do 😂
Sorry to break it to you but that’s just Scottish

I swear I saw an untrained collie managed to move a groupe of chickens, everytime a chicken was leaving the group the dog managed to bring it back. He was doing this all day.
I can believe it. A lot of herd dogs do it instinctually. We had one and a pet pig at the same time. He was always trying to herd the pig. I've seen them do it with children, too. In a very gentle and non-threatening way, I promise.

Wonderful, such strength and Stamina.
"Man's best friend " for centuries and in many ways.
Millenia. Over 25, to be more specific.
Some of the earliest cave paintings we have found dating back to basically the stone age have been drawings of prehistoric cave people with their prehistoric animal companions, who look a whole lot similar to modern dogs. “Man’s best friend” goes back further than anyone realizes
@@Cynsham Aw! Thank you for sharing that.
The pact between humans and wolves is sacred.
To see dogs that were bred for certain jobs like this one doing that actual job is amazing. I didn't expect to be impressed. That was awesome 😄
Smart well trained pupper doing what he was born to do. They are happy when they can work Ike this.
That's why every company needs a project manager 😂😂
Really Frazzles me how intelligent sheep dogs are
This breed is genius than I thought. Wonderful creature on earth!
😍♥️☝️♥️
Glory to God! ♥️
Actually, border collies are at the top of those lists for most intelligent dogs with poodles. They are awesome! I have two poodle mixed breeds and I learned you can teach dogs anything and everything you want to. They are all eager to learn. They are otherwise bored. They need that stimulation.
@@angham3829 amen!
These collies are so impressive. Just incredibly responsive.
Love watching these amazing dogs doing their job, it's so amazing
Elite at work. Living his/her best life. Can watch this all day. ❤
I had a Shepard-Collie - no sheep so he would herd his family. Also ran in big circles when he could.
I might just be high but somehow having a couple of collies in preschool sound like a great ideal.
(My migraine meds make me high)
that collie's soul is shining bright
That’s a good sheep dog you have there mate
I love hearing you call out orders to your dog 🥰 he's amazing 😍
The relationship between a Farmer, his sheep dog and his sheep is such an incredible bond. It's almost like nature intended it to be this way.
Humas did. Border collies are bred to be shepherd dogs.
Nature had nothing to do with it. This is as artificial as the finest in GMT crops.
@@Blinks77 I see you didn't understand my post. I never said that humans weren't responsible.
No. GOD intended it to be that way. "Nature" is just His instrumentality, His tools.
@@ladamyre1 which god? You say "His" so I'm assuming you mean Zeus? Naw. Demeter would be the one with authority over nature.
Dogs never cease to impress me. Such loyal beings to us. What the hell did we ever do to deserve such beautiful companions man?
my baby boy is 13 now, he still leaps and jumps and keeps me safe!
Well that’s because we created them lol
Dogs were domesticated by humans so we literally created them. Dogs used to be wolves that attacked humans frequently until humans killed off wolves that were violent and breeded the ones that weren't. The end result are Dogs.
@@GK-bt6fr how we created them?
@riyasingh2729 They were basically wolves until people started feeding them and breeding them until they became dogs.
This is incredible! Animals definitely helped humans survive and thrive! We really should return the favor and care for them as well. Herding is especially mesmerizing.
You are amazing they way you look after your work mates and they look after you. It’s a special bond of understanding and reading your mind.
This collie deserves all the treats in the world, what a good pup
That is one good boi right there. He's just enjoying the work life's got out for him.

Having watched other videos from this channel, she's actually a good girl. Not that it really matters, but thought you might like to know.
Its what repilled did with the herd during covid
I think that's the Old Girl Kate..... Proving she's still got it in spades. Efficient.
We need to geneticslly engineer humans so that humans like work
I LOVE watching doggies with such AMAZING talents!!!
So satisfying to see man and dog in harmony.
A good border collie is as good as the owner of the sheep.
He's such a happy boy , enjoying his work !!
That collie shot out on to the field looking like the happiest puffball ever
Absolutely the best training and bond between the gentleman and his dog! They are of one accord! Brilliant canine! 🤩💜🤩
Brilliant.
Well trained and obviously loves its job, what a gorgeous soul of a pupper.
Man watching the unison between a Shephard and a sheep dog is something to behold
The term for the man is shepherd. A shepherd tending his flocks; this is a modern version of the man in Christmas carols.
@@carol.stoeser oh right thank you for the clarification I will change it immediately
That dog is in absolute Heaven!
As someone that raises cattle this so relatable but I also have to say your sheep cooperate a whole lot better
had the chance to see a shepherd dog do his job in person.
Nothing cooler than a border coolie at work. The most awesome dog ever. Many great dogs in the world I'm just in love with the BC.
One supremely fine and happy dog!
When I was 7 my parents got me a border collie (my favorite dog). I trained him to do a lot of different things, but I absolutely hated mornings so I taught him to steal my covers and wake me up for school. Best dog I ever had!
Thank you for typing this out. It made a smile on my face:)
Did you train it to have a snooze button?😭because I know I'd still hate mornings
It's remarkable how immediately the sheep respond, too. As if they had a collective "oops" moment, too.
Beautiful...collies have such intelligence and speed theyre a joy to watch. 💚🌱
He's like a safety car.
Seeing them do their job is amazing. When I was in the military, we had training in North California. This group of cows were blocking the road and wouldn't move out of the way until out of nowhere this collier runs down the mountains and clears the path, so easy. His owner had sent him from up the hill. It was awesome.
