Tips to all travellers to avoid scams : Just ignore whoever approaches or wants to talk to you offering cheap service (bear in mind nothing is free or cheap)...if anyone wants any help on direction pls go to the tourist police...if scammers insist on giving you service. Just let them know that you are recording their conversations...then you gonna send the recordings to police...that will scare them off...
Another way is to dress shabbily & wearing slippers
Cheehou that's the PURE TRUTH 👍🏻
And it's NATIONWIDE ISSUE 🤔
Most of the beggars and homeless people in Thailand are Cambodians. Now the Thai government has a headache to expel them from Thailand.
Well said!
Nicht auf ein gespraech einlassen
Very helpful. Even Thai people like me had been deceived by compatriots. These people don't care about anyone but themselves.
Thanks for the concern to everyone, especially to us, foreign travelers, who want to visit Thailand 🇹🇭.
A taxi driver said he didn't have change, told me to go inside the hotel to get change while he had my bags. I said no and he could come inside with me to get change at the front desk. We did and the guy at the front desk gave the taxi driver the filthiest looks as he knew the taxi driver was crooked after I explained why I needed change (which I had). Be aware, enjoy, but don't trust if you feel anxious
And Next day the guy on the desk break into your room and took what lighter but better price khikhikhikhikhi
I don't think he was trying to steal your bags as there are CC cameras everywhere.
Saying they don't have change especially from the airport where they think you don't understand the money.
He was trying to get a big tip and counting on you saying keep the change.
@@phebranovack9747 i think so. this happened to me a lot when i was in high school and i have to take a taxi every day. most of the time i would say, "i will leave my backpack with you ok?, and i will get some change for you, pls wait.". now a day you can pay by phone, so it's really easy but I don't take a taxi anymore. anyway i think it's better to not trust anyone while traveling in any country.
That happened to me departing BKK. 4am at the airport. He had parked almost on the curb on the far dropoff point and ran off to find change because I wouldn't let him keep all the change.
Simple advice. When exiting a popular entertainment/night spot and needing a taxi, do NOT take a taxi from the exit area but walk a bit away and flag down a moving taxi. Always have small money in hand as many taxi drivers will say they cannot break a Bht.1,000 note.
That's what I always tell people. Just walk one block and stop a taxi, they always have the meter on and you don't have to bargain the price.
Yes I want to travel to a country that I have to be on my guard at all times
The best way to avoid scams as a tourist is to avoid been tempted by sweet talking strangers. Just need to exercise our eyes to enjoy the surrounding sceneries & fill our stomachs
Don't buy anything no matter how tempting
here's my tips:
act like you're deaf and just keep walking
if they walk straight at you, just say no or speak some Thai to them and walk pass them
if they ask you some questions, just give them short answer (a few words) and walk quietly pass them
thank you
May everyday be a good day
For your Family Welcome to Thailand😊😊🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭
I am currently on vacation in Thailand 🇹🇭 right now and I can say that Thailand is very safe in deed 😊.
It is incredibly safe you are right but the scammers be on high alert 😅😂
At least much more safer than Malaysia and Indonesia, isn't it?

I’m very thankful for your videos. I’m coming to Thailand in November and stay for the winter traveling around the country. I have researched and prepared well for months now and am always looking for more information. Your videos have really helped my preparation. Thank you so much! 👍

Very informative and straight to the point. Thanks for the great video
sadly tuk tuks are really like that. very helpful to have somebody with you who knows the real prices :]
Arsen great vlog very informative
Wish I’d had some of this info, last time I was there
Selling overpriced items to tourists is real in Thailand. Tourists should use the services in restaurants, 7/11, minimarts, department stores, grape taxis, grape bikes, but there is no pickpocketing like in Europe.
I was having a drink at a bar with a table outside in London and a homeless woman approached to ask for change. When she walked up, she placed her bag over my friend’s iphone and grabbed it as she left. We didnt realize until we saw on the security cameras later. It was the smoothest thing id ever seen
Also Scam are the long boat trips... very expensive. 1500 THB/person.
Once one wanted to charge 15 THB. They worth nothing.
Well said...thank you🤩
Always use yr GPS to ascertain yr destination. Having fore knowledge will save you. Never go in blind and trust anyone YOU WILL get ripped off.
This video says to me, to avoid visiting there. You won't be able to enjoy your visit if you are looking out for scams everywhere.
I encourage you to reconsider. This excellent video lays out many of the tricks but once you learn them you can avoid them and have a wonderful time.

การท่องเที่ยวไทย พัง ก็เพราะ คนของ เราเอง
I was in Bangkok with a friend and our taxi driver told us that had to stop to get some fuel and that we would have to pay for it…on top of the fare! We told him that we were not going to pay for his fuel and he started shouting at us! We told him to stop the taxi so we could get out. He stopped straight away but he was still shouting at us for not agreeing to pay for him to fill up his taxi!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Most taxi drivers are from the lowest level you can imagen.
Don't think I'd bother with Thailand just seems way too many scammers about and other people that just see western countries as walking cash machines
@@corneilcorneil Agreed
Thank you so much , it difently helps especially I'm currently in Bangkok
Had been there at Thailand for ten days. I was well informed of the scams particularly renting a scooter or waterjet including the scams mentioned here. So I was not scammed anywhere during our short stay there.
please explain what happens in these two scams.
@@goumuk we actually experienced the Jetski scam on our 10 day trip to Thailand 2 weeks ago. We rented Jetskis on the Samae Beach on Ko Lan island close to Pattaya. After 40 minutes my engine went off because it had not enough fuel. But much crazier was my friends Jetski, which just started filling with water and sinking down. After the owners picked us up from the water, they wanted 10.000 Baht from my friend, claiming he had damaged the Jetski because it sank and filled with water. After we refused to pay they called the police, which made my friend panic since he has heard a lot about corrupt police. He then managed to negotiate with them and eventually paid 5.000 Baht and left.
Interestingly enough we were actually 9 people, 5 germans and 4 Thais, but they still pulled this scam through.
very useful information as I have planned to Bangkok in Nov👍
learn lots of things from you Big Brother. Big thanks.
Every where in the world is like this . Not only inThailand that you will meet. I have been in many countries and faced this kind of problems. It was experienced you will consider to do for next time. It is good to do like you said. Thank you.
One time a dude came to me and said the day was a religious day thus the malls r closing early … then he started offering me a ride in his tuk-tuk to the river and ride on a boat to see “the real Bangkok”. At last have some fun at KaoSan ~~~ I turned down his offer of course lol
You were lucky, we fell for it and it costs us 3000 bahts.Believe me,there were others that fell for it too, as the lady collecting , had a whole bag full of cash.
Hi thanks for the great info for my next trip to Thailand
👍🏻
Excellent tips for the tourists to avoid being ripped off of precious money by scamsters.
i paid tuktuk trip with tripadvisor $25..i realized most of the attraction i went are next to each other..in the end of my trip..i tip the tuktuk driver 100bhat..he is smile..and i exhausted from the heating..😆
I was in Thailand over the last 2 weeks and in my time in Bangkok I experienced the most scams 😂😂 I only went for 1 where we were sold 2 extra large juice for 200 baht. We definitely didn’t need to pay that much but we were tired and hot and had just came out of a tour at the Grand Palace.
Another common scam was the floating market and temple tour on a long boat. Even though I didn’t a friend if mine fell for this scam and basically paid 1000 baht for a man walking up to the boat and trying to sell her figurines. Do yourself a favour and research before. I used google maps to get to all the places I wanted to go to I had no issues with signal or anything.
Another scam is the Tuk Tuk drivers coming to you as you get off the ferry at the grand palace that the palace and Wat Pho are closed for prayer so rather go with them to see another temple. No they are open from 8:30/9 until 3:30/ 4pm I think. Just ignore rather ask google or follow the signs.
These scammers are destroying their own careers and those of others who are honest. I think the Thai authorities should take these scammers more seriously. Sorry for what you found.🙏
@@chermarl5955 really i think the Thai Police must watch closely all theses scammer to help tourisms, is not good for Thailand image, thanks in advance for the police service thaï.

Good advice Arsen. If you are new to Thailand travel pay attention! Thailand is a wonderful place to visit but like other tourist destinations be aware the scammers are out there and they are very good at what thy do? Don't learn these lessons the hard way. All Thai people welcome tourists of all nationalities and religions, no matter who you are, where you come from, if you come to travel with quality, respect Thai people, respect Thailand. Thai people will help each other to maintain the good trust of tourists. Help each other to provide good service to tourists in a friendly manner. Smiley, safe, clean, equal to all classes. Thailand also has many interesting places to explore. Suitable for tourists of all levels of your hopes. We may not be the best place. But we can definitely welcome everyone with the best thi-survice. Thank you for visiting Thailand.
Thx for the video.
let a local add some tips.
1.For transportations use BTS or MRT. For Taxi use Grab all the time.
Avoid rush hour, you will always get a car with in a few minutes.
For rush hour. Plan your trip in advance. Book a ride day before.
note:Taxi have to use the meter for every single ride. It's illegal to not use it.
To deny any ride also illegal.
You can collect the evidences and complain to the police. The taxi will get fine 1000+ baht and/or license suspended for a month.
For Tuktuk. Pray before get a ride.
2. Every single penny for a beggar, You are supporting human trafficking. 99% of them came from a neighbor country run by local mafias.
3. Every shops or food stalls have to show the price tags. It's illegal to not show the price tag.
Avoid any place that not price tags.
Avoid any bar or restaurant which is open but very few people in it when compare the surround places. Something fishy is going on.
I was also wondering why taxi app like grab is not mentioned at all in the video, or in most comments.
Also, Never Ever asked someone to take your photos by giving that person your phone or your camera. Instead of smiles you might cry out loud or screaming!!
Always a fear of mine
😂😂😂good one
A lot of beggars come from neighboring countries.
If you take a taxi or any other transport, you always ask the locals first!!!! Also be aware of people who come up to you, and start asking questions, like where are you from ,is it you're first time here, how long are you here? just don't be rude and listen to them and learn a bit. but just treat it like a joke. Than tell them, you know about the scams but want to know how the see life! Than (mostly) you'll see another guy, more honest and joking. Some times when I get bored and have this 'narrely' mood, I'll go to these huslers and act like a random tourist and joke with them. Sometimes they'll ask me out for a drink and meet there friend's of family 🤗 Otherwise, the poltite thing to say,is 'mai auw',kap!
(don't want,thanks)✌🏻✊🏻💪🏻
If you go with them in his family, then you will end up to pay their food for 20 persons. Ha ha ha.
thanks for this video...giving alot of lesson...
Had a great visit to Thailand 4 years ago, met some wonderful friendly people. Airport Taxi was a nightmare, bit of a wreck, was on a meter but the driver could hardly see, took ages to find the hotel, round and round in circles but eventually found it at my cost. May be I was overcharged in a Tuk Tuk at Chiang Mai but it was probably only a couple of pounds over so no great deal. Budget hotels were more than adequate and the street food was brilliant, going again soon so now know some of the scams which happen in all touristy places. You just have to be alert and halve the price they quote you as a barter start point, sawatdee krap.
I am Thai and I don't want to use the Taxi. 95% of them try to cheat you. I hate to use Taxi. I prefer to use a public transport.
@@warapornpeantanakunchai5880 Yes Waraporn, it spoils your holiday/visit when you are scammed. It won't stop me from visiting Thailand again.

3 years ago when I was going from Bangkok to Pattaya with bus ticket seller wanted to scam me 200 bath, she said have no change please go inside bus and wait.I went inside bus. 5 minutes later bus driver was closing doors and I was without my change. So I told him wait a moment. Went to that women and asked loudly where is my change give it to me now! Guess what it took only few seconds to find the change.
I’m living in Thailand for many years and I haven’t experienced scams … most them are very helpful, friendly and supportive…😊 In fact I dropped my wallet 22 years ago when I was in the bus station .. All my money was there.. someone found it and returned it to me immediately.. I really love Thailand😊
Be careful okay Sweetheart?
Hi
I have experienced lots of tourist scams and unfriendly Thai people in Thailand. I’m afraid to go out alone in Bangkok. Where is it that you live since you seem to be the only one who isn’t experiencing this??
I lived there a while before and was never scammend.
I love Thailand, the respect there, people and the spicy food.Thailand is incredible.
You give me fever
In Bangkok virtually puts their meters without asking. Only place where you have hassle is in lower Sukhumvit. Now outside of Bangkok is a different matter.
Egypt has the same scams, so apply what your told here in Egypt as well and most likely in various tourist countries… Travel with knowledge and care…😇
Egypt was non stop, everywhere I went. Ugh..
Great video!! Keep it up!!
I'll be in Thailand within a week...
Will post some vlogs from there!

You should have said why you should have the money ready when in a Tuk Tuk ...... when you pay for your ride most off them never seem to have change so you can either give them a nice generous Tip or get the money changed at your destination if you can. Lots of 20bht notes in your pocket if you can
Good idea. I one time paid a Tuk Tuk rider and he run off with my change.
thanks for the information
Good advice. Thank you
It’s very hard not to get scammed in Bangkok. That’s very sad because manny honest street vendors and hard working people who deserve to earn every penny you pay them. I don’t mind to pay a little more as a tourist but getting scammed discourages me to return.

Talk about scams ! Take time to read this.Long story but i will keep it short I have visited Pattaya many times over the years . In 2006 I decided to buy a place to retire ,around Pattaya. My biggest mistake was walking into Kensington Realty in Walking street. it was "owned" by a guy called Trevor Antill from the UK. Very plausible and very helpful . Being a trusting person at that time (my whole attitude to people has changed since then,) I believed he was genuine. He introduced me to a Lawyer (part of the scam) and got me set up with a bank account. On numerous visits there he sorted me out with a plot of land just outside Pattaya. I purchased one. I found out later, He sold the same plots to many people .He started building a perimeter wall and some earthworks, but it never moved very quickly.Being frustrated with progress in 2007 I was recommended a builder by a Thai colleague I worked with in Kuwait. When we visited the site one of the locals sent for Antill and when he was told it was going to be finished by the builder as he was taking too long he offered my money back. That night he left Pattaya and that was the last I saw of him. I visited a Lawyer in Bangkok recommended by the Embassy only to find the deeds for the land were fake .I found an article after a bit of research , in the Pattaya Times that had a photo of him in chains having been arrested in 2005 for the same thing making over £2,000,000 which he sent back to his son in the UK. Never went to prison and restarted the business in Pattaya in 2006.Why did he not go to prison.......well that does not take much working out?.
I lost £100,000 and my retirement plans ended. Antill conned Japanese, Australian,Russian, New Zealand , Dutch and many more. I believe he fled to Chang Mai . Thailand is full of crooks and scammers and justice leaves a lot to be desired, Never returned since.
Do u recommend to use app to call for taxi instead? I heard it’s better cuz they told u the price like how Uber is
We always ride in the bus,and one thing you should know where you going,..check your Google maps always
The thing I hate about LOS, is that at 1.87m tall, travelling in a tuk tuk is a pain. The overhang of the roof of the tuk tuk means I have to 'scrunch' down to see out. Mostly a problem for new tourists who want to see the sites.
Love it❤❤❤
