- Longtime friend and colleague, Vincent R. DiNino conducts The UT Longhorn Band in it's final tribute to Coach Darrell Royal at the Frank Erwin Center at UT Austin during his Memorial Service. Coach Royal once said after a loss when the band didn't attend, he'd never travel again to another game without taking the Longhorn Band.
You don't realize just how orange your blood is until you break down in tears at this. Farewell, Coach, you were the best.
I've been out of Texas for 45 years, and I can't watch this with a dry eye!
These eyes of Texas have a couple of tears in 'em......
DKR, we loved ya a bunch...thanks, for coming our way....we are honored and blessed by your being a part of our lives....

Not a Texas fan, but DKR was one of the greatest coaches in all of college football. He will forever be remembered. RIP Darrell Royal 1924-2012
