Large format wood look plank tile Installed on Ditra uncoupling membrane. In this video I go through the process of installing a large 8"x48" plank tile. When installing these large long tiles, it is best to use a leveling system to reduce, or even eliminate lippage, the leveling, or lippage system, as some like to call it, makes it much easier to install a lippiage free tile floor. I also show some of the tools I use and how to mark and cut the tile. Large format tiles are not an easy install, so it best to take it slow and get everything right, checking as you go to be sure the tile has sufficient mortar coverage when it is set, back buttering the tile will help achieve the proper coverage and transfer of the mortar.
All tile installed by Sal DiBlasi, Elite-tile Company, in the Boston North Shore area. This video contains affiliate links, which means I will receive a small commission if you click on the product link.

Hey, Sal. I know I'm doing it right when I see you tackling these jobs the same way I do. Your videos provide standard that homeowners should expect out of their tile contractor. Be well this holiday season and best wishes going into 2023!

Hi Sal. Nice work. Which manual tile cutter are you using? Thanks
Hi, I have a question does anyone have any tips for keeping mortar out of the grout lines? I backbutter every tile and I make a big mess and a lot of extra work in the process. I fix houses on the weekends and tile is a huge pain point for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Wow nice. Doesn’t the levelling system also provide spacing? Why are you also using the blue shims?
Watch this, solves a problem with these leveling systems. czcams.com/video/-Ey7V4o5OzE/video.html
