  • [Editor's note: This video and description contains spoilers through Yellowjackets, Season 2, Episode 6, "Qui."]
In the present day timeline, no surviving Yellowjacket is closer to Lottie (Simone Kessell) and her teachings than Natalie (Juliette). Meanwhile, back in 1996, Sophie Thatcher’s version of the character isn’t having any of it. She refuses to participate in Lottie’s (Courtney Eaton) pre-hunt rituals and many blame Natalie for the lack of food because of it.
In Yellowjackets, Season 2, Episode 4, “Old Wounds,” this divide sparks a competition, a hunting contest. The first person to find food, Natalie or Lottie, wins. But no one wins. Natalie is devastated when she finds a moose in the frozen lake, but the group fails to pull it out, and Lottie is brought back to the cabin with hypothermia. While Natalie helps her recover, she apologizes for putting Lottie in this position, and after a bit of playful ribbing, the two say “good game” to one another.
Is that the end of this intensifying rivalry between Natalie and Lottie? The moment may not turn Natalie into a Lottie follower, but does the “good game” signify she won’t push back against Lottie’s teachings?
Hear Thatcher's take on the matter in this Yellowjackets interview! On top of that, Liv Hewson talks about the "Tai, you ate her face" line in Episode 3 and Jasmin Savoy Brown sings Sophie Nélisse's praises.

She and Juliette even give similar types of interviews, it’s completely wild. Both keep their heads down unless a question is asked to them directly.

the faces of the young actors when discussing how the ‘snackie’ dummy looked... you can see the partial trauma, or at least the fact that it's a very distasteful memory. i see them and their effort. the whole shtick was definutely worth it, i was on the floor by the end of episode two.
and yes please, let's get an emmy nomination for sophie n.!

Not that I don’t love all of it, but when she was giving birth there was something so different and primal that came out of her. It’s indescribable. That whole scene was Emmy worthy, not just for Sophie but the whole cast and crew. It was amazing. I could go on and on about this episode.

Perri is such a great interviewer. I love it. It's been such a pleasure watching this cast answer the top tier questions they were asked. Also, it's so refreshing to see someone who actually likes the thing they are promoting. And also spearheading the Sophie Nelise for an Emmy movement.Yes!. And yes it is a movement because I also had the oh, well this is an Emmy nom moment during that scene, and it's def not just us. Also, the reaction shots of the actors in this interview for that scene is what really got me and grounded the scene in reality, because we were still sort of processing the previous scene and seeing them, wow. Amazing choices all around (including the writers and the rest of the crew). This show is so good on so many levels and I am glad it seems to be getting more viewers this season. I am both scared and excited to see the next 3 episodes!

I’m definitely a fan of the adult actresses but the young actresses really bring the heat with their acting.

it must make press much nicer for the cast when they get to talk to an interviewer who has such a deep appreciation of their performances and how they were executed
