  • The sheer numbers involved in raising a rhino calf are staggering: a young rhino can drink up to seven gallons of milk a day - which means the mom needs up to 110 pounds of grass each day to sustain herself.

Lots of people don't realize it, but Indian rhinos are nearly as big as White Rhinos (5-10% smaller on average weight) and much larger than Black Rhinos. Not to mention, their conservation story is one to be shared throughout from 75 in 1905 to more than 3200 today, all this while battling poaching for their horn.

Let's just take a moment to appreciate the govt for putting in the effort to increase the counts of these great species from 75' to 3200 today . And From few of Asiatic lions to More than 600-700 today. Same goes Bengal Tigers too. I wish them more luck in the future in this mission.

Well i m a vegetarian from india, we have thousand yr old culture where cow were considered like a part of family . Being a majority vegetarian society we depend on milk and butter. Just like a mother provide milk to infants cow provide it to us . Thats why we call it gau mata(mother) . The village i come from they have bond with their cows and buffalos ,they sense their emotions thats why hindus dont eat beef. How can we eat something which has feed our infants and us.

@@Nk-fu1yn The way you do it is sacred and beautiful. 🙏🏼
My comment was aimed more towards big agricultural companies, and how they farm and provide milk across the world.
The cows are encaged all day being milked, but before that they are artificially inseminated, with a humans ARM repeatedly over the course of their miserable soon to end life, until they are exhausted and spent, unable to produce any more milk, then they are cut up into pieces and shipped off for our (or our dogs?) consumption. Oh and they have their beautiful babies taken away from her at birth, the females are bred to live the same miserable life as their mums, the males are mainly nail gunned and disposed of, some might be lucky enough to become veal 😒
Sorry for rant, and I'm also a hypocrite because I'm not even vegan!
Just spreading an inconvenient truth. 🙏🏼
