- Roundabout faults video covers the most common mistakes people make when learning roundabouts. This can be from how to approach a roundabout at the correct speed and correct gear, which mirrors you should be checking and when you should be showing a signal.

Hi Travis, on driving test will be manoeuvre , parallel parking , or bay patking ? Anymore manoeuvre l have to do it ?
Good clear instruction. Good advice on temporary lights. Top instructor
Glad it was helpful!
I used to be pretty bad with roundabouts never liked them, but once my instructor just kept doing them over and over I feel so much more confident on them now. Excellent video as always. :)
Got my test tomorrow and today I had a lesson I found myself struggling with big roundabouts so here i am
All the best
Travis, I kind off stumble into your videos after failing my driving test. Your invaluable tips and that of my instructor have finally paid off as I passed my driving test today. Thank you very much
Congratulations and thank you for watching
Thank you travis for your videos. They have really helped. I passed today with two minors. If anyone reading this would like a chat about it please just ask as other experiences do help. If I can say anything it would be make sure you really overdo your awareness. Especially when doing the manoover. Personally I feel to pass your test it is a combination of hard work concentration and also annoyningly luck. You need a good easyish drive to get you there. I done mine today at 2.32 and it was surprisingly not as busy as I thought. The very best of luck to all those on driving lessons or taking their tests. If you believe in yourself and go into the test with the attitude that your going to focus and be completely on the ball. You will do it!!
Good comment. Congratulations on passing
Where you making mistakes in the lessons the week before your driving test? How did you know you were ready?
The dude congratulations
My test is in 2 days thank you your words are encouraging!!!
Just moved to MK from Lancashire, I passed a year ago but always struggle with roundabouts with many lanes, I end up going round and round in the innermost lane. Iâm certainly getting used to roundabouts living here!
Thanks for this video , helps a lot.
I wish you were my instructor. Have my test in the morning. binging on your videos tonight but my plan is to just enjoy the test and drive the right way (MIRROR (centre, left/right mirror, SIGNAL , MANOUVER) . nothing else I can do
Good luck
Learn-to-drive Travis I received few minors and 2 seriouses. I will work hard on them and pass the next time in a few weeks.
I failed my test last time with one major fault n 7 minors. Came back home and found ur channel with some others aswel. Your videos have helped me alot. Today after 3 weeks from my previous test I passed with 5 minors. I jus want to say thank you!! And keep up this fabulous job.
Thank you for your kind words.
Congratulations on passing. Safe driving
If I'd remembered this part of the video (3:45 - 4:35 before my practical, I would've passed. Came off a dual carriageway and needed to take the 3rd exit but I was in the left lane instead of the right. Although I've never been there during my driving lessons, I should've known to stay on the right because I have driven on a roundabout and taken the 3rd exit during a lesson once or twice. I'm gutted about my result. I drove really well with only 1 minor at that point but picked up a serious and 2 more minors. Onwards to my 2nd attempt and with this knowledge, I'll pass on that attempt. Thanks for the informative video!
Passed my driving test first time this morning with just 1 minor! Thanks for your helpful videos
Congratulations
Well done I past today with 2 minors. What manoover did you get. I fortunately had the Park right side of the road and reverse 2 car lengths
The dude Nice, I did the parallel park
Thanks very good advice I really Iâm needed at this time .
PAst my test last week
Cheers travis
Your vids helped me loads đ
Congratulations
Your videos are great! It really helps to understand and calm my nerves about big roundabouts..Thank you Travis
Thank you
Sooo helpful đ„° im learnin a lot here
Thank you
Have my test on Wednesday very useful many times Travis driving school
Roundabouts are built for Public Safety while driving Saves lives reduces fatal crashes
Thank you somach
We call roundabouts in Massachusetts rotaries. We have lots of them.
That does make sense
Travis your videos are great, been watching for weeks and I passed first time today.đ
Congratulations
Thanks for uploading this video. Helps me understand roundabouts better now. I got a serious on my test for road markings because I somehow didnât notice the road markings. I was either looking at the sign, satnav or checking my mirror. My next driving test is on the 20th April. I am going to speak to my instructor about potentially having him in the car on my next test
Best of Luck! :)
Omar Galal Thanks. Itâs my second test so hopefully I will be less nervous
Good luck
How was your exam?
Dr Shazia Shahid it went well thanks. I was a little bit nervous so ended up with 10 minors but the important thing is that I passed so I was relieved when the examiner told me that I had passed. My minors were things like undue hesitation
Very very nice đ
Got my first test (and hopefully last!) on Monday, I've found your videos very useful, they are great refreshers and have eased my mind a bit.
Good luck
Passed with just 1 fault! Videos definitely helped before the test, thanks a bunch.
Got my test next week. Failed 1st time due to late signalling on a roundabout and a van beeped me so automatic fail. Been watching your videos and have found the very useful so fingers crossed for next week.
Good luck
Marie Brett did you pass ?
Problem with roundabouts is other road users who have a licence seem to forget on how to use them with no signal racing around them that's what scares learners
Yes, unfortunately other road users make it harder by not signaling.
New to your channel. I found this very useful.
Thank you. Enjoy the channel

Great videos! I have my test Thursday morning at Bletchley so nervous đ
Do you have a video covering the roundabout at the end of A5?
Yes. Check out my playlist on roundabouts and it is titled How to change lanes on spiral roundabouts. The video was filmed on that roundabout. Good luck
Iâm glad youâve uploaded this about roundabouts and what the main faults are. I have struggled with roundabouts recently.
This has helped me for my 2nd test in a few days time đ
Good luck
Learn-to-drive Travis Thank you! Will have to let you know! đŹđđ€đŒ
jennikidd95 did you pass ?
Zahran Alloush I have my test tomorrow afternoon đ
jennikidd95 When was your last lesson and did you commit any faults on it? Mine is soon so I'm pretty nervous but trying to calm myself as much as possible.
Is it true ăall roundabouts, when the left lane goes only left, the middle lane takes up position in the left/outside lane of the roundabout and does not go right. This is true in the spiral also. The middle lane goes ahead but not "and/or" right of 12pm. It does not take position in the centre lane of the rbt on entry.
I had my test last week and failed for hesistance! In my lessons I have never done that. If anything my instructor told me too take more time at roundabouts. So I tried being slower in my test. My next one in 4 weeks . I have noticed how you go down too 2, but where I am in Leeds there always busy so you need too be in 1 most of the time and wait. Thanks for the vid
I know Leeds well, I used to work there. Lots of stopping.
Good luck with your test.
Which test centre did you take it at in Leeds? Iâm booked in for Harehills in 4 week x
Frankie Penrose I did horsforth. Thats where I am doing next one too. Its just full of roundabours and duel carriageways they took me all way upto Skipton and york with road signs đđ x
Sammie Shaw was it really bad? Iâm so nervous for mine. I keep panicking and itâs still a while away x
Frankie Penrose mine is 4 weeks away too. How many lessons have you done? It was just my nerves that took over me and did things i have never done before. I didnt get the sat nav either. My only advice i can give you is pretend they arent there and just stay focused and composed it was a awful feeling failing when i know it was just because i was so nervous x
Do you personally use the bus lanes out of the hours specified on the blue sign or do you just stay out of the bus lanes altogether? I have my test at 9am soon and the lanes open up at 9.30. Iâm most worried about staying out of the bus lanes but timing it properly to stay out of them and bring the car back into the left lane again đ do you have any tips! Love your videos, so helpful!
I use the bus lanes out of the times. But as you approach the lane, look ahead if a bus is in the bus lane, if yes, you will probably be better off out of bus lane to save getting stuck behind a bus
I hate roundabouts with 2 lanes. I dont know how it is in the UK but in Sweden people dont know how to use em, and i have my drivers test in 2 days. Hope i dont run into an idiot in the roundabouts during my test.
In a two exit roundabout (one 90° left and one directly forward) is the right lane used for straight forward as itâs the last exit or do both exits use the left lane? If it is the right lane, do you indicate on the approach? Thanks
The right lane usually to go ahead. If you are changing left to right lanes on approach, then a signal to change lanes is required.
Learn-to-drive Travis Great, thank you :)
I was just wondering what to do if you were going to the 3rd/4th/5th exit and you were in the right hand lane, go past the exit before the one you want then mirror check, signal, begin to move over then someone comes up speeding next to you to exit to the exit you wanna go to - instinctively you would want to swerve out of the way, but that means potentially hitting a car on your right, then if you brake someone could go into the back of you? What would be the best to do in this situation? I know the other car would be in the wrong and I've never had this before but on a test I feel it would be a lose-lose situation. In both situations you would surely accumulate a serious/dangerous as you have changed direction in panic and put others at risk? Thanks :)
Carrying on from the instinctively park. If you have checked and have started moving across to the left, then you see in the left mirror a car trying to undertake you at speed, just lift off the gas and let the car shoot past.
Do you need to check your left blindspot when going from right to left lane to leave the roundabout? Thanks.
You donât need to as long as you are checking your mirrors regular.
But if you are exiting are busy or large roundabout, then itâs probably safer to check
@@JamesTravis Thank you very much mate your advice and videos are always super helpful. Lets hope i pass on monday!
Hi , on driving test l have to do only 1manoeuvre , let say can be parallel parking, or bay parking?
Yes one manoeuvre that the examiner asks you to do.
Anything else l have to do it ? Can you tell me main thing's , what l have to do on my test.Thank you Travis.
@@mistermister243 this video will cover everything you need to know on your driving test czcams.com/video/c1m3MvdDkFE/video.html
I've got a question! Say you were approaching a 2 lane roundabout but there were cars covering the road signs and the road signs indicated that lane 2 was for straight over and right but lane 1 was for left only but you didn't know. What should you do Say if you wanted to go straight over but ended up in lane 1? Cheers
Hi, the safe way would be to go left every time. Then work your way back, or if you were on your test, let the examiner direct you back.
@@JamesTravis thank you very much!
Can you Please tell what is the name of the last roundabout in the video? So just past 8:00minute?
Itâs called Fox Milne roundabout
Iâve failed my test twice thinking of coming to mk to do my test I moved from there over a year ago I no the place better then Luton were I am now do u teach automatic wud love to do some lessons with u if I can do my test there
Unfortunately I donât cover automatic. Contact MK school of motoring, they do automatic and should be able to sort you out. Good luck
Sir what to do when meeting situation but the person who was suppose to stop didant and we got stuck how to get out that?
Are you wanting to know about cars on stopping on roundabouts or oncoming cars in meeting situation?
@@JamesTravis cars in meeting situations
@@sexyswiss5131 if the oncoming car is coming towards you in your lane then you would need to give way to avoid the potential accident. You would need to watch there speed to see if they are slowing to give way, if they are not you would give way.
Help and advice needed. Iâm close to my test I have it booked for 13th nov. Iâm still struggling with roundabouts, grasping when I should be looking in mirrors and over left shoulder and then signaling and drifting to exit đ please help
Hi, if this area is your weakness, then I would focus your next lesson on roundabouts and work and repeat until you are confident that you have got it with your instructor or family member.
1. Every time you are thinking about changing directions or slowing then a mirror check is needed.
2. The drifting could be a cause of staring in the mirror too long, or not sure when to move across.
Learn-to-drive Travis thanks so much for replying and the advice. I did my lesson this morning with my instructor focusing on roundabouts but Iâm still not confident . I have another lesson tomorrow so hopefully by the end of that one I will be more confident. Itâs worrying me as my test is so soon itâs knocking my confidence đ
Keep at it. Remember that if you miss your exit or even exit too soon, thatâs ok as long as you have checked your mirrors( centre, left mirror), before signaling and moving across to exit.
Learn-to-drive Travis thanks for your help. Itâs when I need to move over ready to exit I think Iâm struggling the most with. Think I get when to check mirrors , then signal comes next. Mirrors and over left shoulder is ,as Iâm almost getting to the exit before mine , then as Iâm passing I signal , then move to exit ?? I find it easy in my head then all goes out my head when Iâm on the island đ
Good luck for Tuesday. Mine's on the 28th and roundabouts are my nemesis also! Let us know how you get on.
Wish I watched this earlier just failed on a serious fault on a roundaboutđĄđĄ
Sorry to hear. I hope my videos help you, good luck on your next test
Just an observation, don't use the awful royalty free ukelele music. It's extremely annoying, cringe and has been a meme on youtube for years.
