  • Ofege were the first notable boy band in Nigeria. Formed by young lads from the prestigious Saint Gregory College, Obalende in the mid-70s, the band impacted the Nigerian music scene with hits like 'Wizzy Labo', 'Higher Plane Breeze', and 'Nobody Fails'. The band comprised Melvin Nolks, Mike Meme, Paul Alade, Soga Benson, and Dapo Olumide. They were the toast of the heady Lagos booming entertainment scene while still grappling with their studies at the college. They actually succeded in combining both roles as members went on to record success in their professional careers.
