  • By every means, the quartet of Black Rice, Majek Fashek, Amos Mcroy and George Orwell collectively known as Ja'Stix deserve to be called the biggest and best contemporary Super Band in the history of Nigerian music. However, the band that disbanded in 1988 left no recorded materials for an album or even a single in their name as a collective.
They however left a massive footprint in their production credits for other artistes which amounts to over 500, both as individuals and as a band. The situation has begged the question of whether they let down their fans who still talk about them decades after they disbanded.
Majek Fashek had attained measurable success in the International and Nigerian music scene. Amos Mcroy also had a solo career while Black Rice and George Orwell are still on the live Circuit in Europe where they are based. This is the story of Nigeria's answer to the Wailers and Steel Pulse.
