A couple of weeks ago I got the AtGames Pinball and I love it! Never thought I'd be able to join the vpin community (space and cost), but now I'm getting a taste of what it's like thanks to all the mods I've been picking up. The machine you have here is an absolute beast - a sight to behold! At first I thought the sirens, the LEDs in the playfield, and the LEDs behind the machine was overkill; but was I wrong! When you fired up a table and the action heated up, those additional perks brought that machine to life! It's exactly how I remembered how pinball games were in the arcade growing up - over the top, festive, and fun!
From reading some of the comments it seems you've moved on from this machine, I'll be looking forward to see what you've got next 👍 Subbed!

Hi and thanks for the review video. I currently have a XGC premium on order so I am surfing around to get my pinball fix.
I have to admit that after you set the pinny up, it looked like a box on sticks instead of that classic pinball full williams shape that XGC make.
I think the most I got from this review was the back and forth between the lovers and haters of the 2 companies.
Also glad I watched this to confirm that I made the right decision to order from XGC and not the other aussie company that only seems to get bad reviews and all round hate and looks like they go the China box import as well.
Good things come to those who wait..

Thanks for the video, I appreciate the effort, As a pinhead since 1970, this is a very impressive machine. I have a pinball bank of 14 pins. Two of the pins you played are in my collection, Indiana Jones Jones and Jurassic Park. I am looking for a high quality machine as I have run out of space. I have played a few virtual machines, but has been disappointed with the feel. The video was OK, but it never felt right. To play IJ machine as it was originally designed , i would need a wide body, for my Twilight Zone, Popeye Saves the earth, a rare one named Scorpion, and Demo man. Thanks again !!!

    • @Scantron5k
      @Scantron5k  Před 2 lety +1

Thanks man. Basically it's just the same hazing you would see from most any monitor at an extreme side angle. Did you see the gameplay portion of the video where I have the camera mounted directly over the playfield? That's really the only thing that matters to me because pinball forces you to stand directly above the table when you play it anyway.

First off, loved the video!!! In case you like feedback, I would have loved watching the gameplay still shot in portrait mode, but with the video camera looking down on just the tabletop with maybe a quick preview of the the way you shot the whole video, but then to overhead to get the full effect of the fantastic tabletops. Basically, the whole top part of the screen of your demonstrating the games were wasted when a quick look at the whole table would have sufficed. Like I said though, great video just the same!!!

Great video! Thanks for sharing. I was seriously considering going with XGC until I saw your video. I have a few questions...Does the machine come loaded with all the games or do you have to download them? If they do come already loaded, do you have Bally 'Wizard' and 'Captain Fantastic'? Those were my two favorites when I spent my time at the Gold Mine arcade as a yute. Thanks again.

Maybe it's just me but they drove me crazy. Secondly did you notice any growing pains on the flippers I don't want to say a lag but just a millisecond longer when you press the flipper buttons on these machines versus a real pinball game. It took me about 20 minutes to get used to it, and everybody that plays the table is late on their first game

The LED lights come by default on the lowest setting and they are adjustable. I personally think that the LED lights do a great job while playing. They are game controlled and it adds a little bit more ambiance to each table without having a matrix screen behind the glass which can be a little bit overly distracting. Definitely cool, but distracting in my opinion. As for flipper lag, no way. Not even a little bit. I'm not sure how old your machine is or what what type of system your running, but I would highly recommend that you reach out to Roland and get it updated or at least troubleshoot things at the very minimum.

@@maskeddude6730 look man, I just said the company is here in the states and the shipping is included with your purchase. I'm not going to speak for a company when it comes to where they source their parts or builds. All I know is if it's dope, it's dope. I'll support anyone who has great customer service and delivers on their product. I'm not really a gamer, more so an arcader. As far as the washed-out look on the monitor when you are standing across the room, that type of shit doesn't bother me one bit. Pinball forces you to have to stand directly over the machine when you play it, so I'm not going to squabble about something that looks different from across the room. Standing over top of it is what counts.

I own an XGC VP and have played a rec room VP and there is no comparison. All up with shipping I got mine from XGC for under $9k usd shipped to my door. As far as angle viewing of the screen, when my mates are watching from the side they see a great quality picture also. The 120Hz compared to 60Hz in game play is incredible. Just saying XGC products are much better. XGC does updated drives also, I’ve got there 1.5 system on order. There service is 2nd to none, difference is that XGC build there machines and do the software themselves.
Not saying rec room machines are shit, just overpriced compared to XGC superior VP Machine.
You mentioned Australian In your video hence my comments.

@@maskeddude6730 interesting that you've played a RRW build before. That must mean people in Australia are buying them (you said "mates" so I'm just assuming that's where you're at). And if so, I'm curious if you played an older build or their newest builds that they are putting out now. The 5.0 machine with the full-size DMD and newest pinup popper software. If I ever have the opportunity to do a side-by-side review one day, rest assured, it'll be done. However, I'm not in a hurry to spend another large chunk of money just to have two versions of the same thing, unless XGC wants to donate one, you know, for science. Ha.

Perhaps, but from what I've seen from friends who have went with XGC, the wait time is 18 months and customer service next to nonexistent.
