@@330dfam I would really like to map it, but it is leased. BMW did say they can tell if it is mapped and will terminate the lease if they find out during a service. It is such an upgrade over my 118d e87 (which was mapped to stable 1). With the 420 I did a 6.8 to 60mph so it’s very underrated compared to the 7.2 claimed by the manufacturer.
I am on the look out for a 435d xdrive or RWD and will be mapping it. Alternatively, a 140i or 440i as a “weekend fun thing” would be a nice thing the wife won’t be mad at 😂
@@Tom-dz7of have you done any work with dark side developments? I’m really tempted to get a 435d, buy it outright and tune it to stage 2. Imagine people said I was crazy to buy a diesel and now my mates have lived to eat their words. Petroleum is now the same price as diesel in my area and so far in the Midlands. Also, we all know diesel gives better economy so guess who is isn’t laughing now. 😂 even EV charging has crept up and the negative externalities do not make it attractive.

@@330dfam had a g31 530d as a courtesy car when my e90 was in for a recall a while back. The boot was soo spacious, I even considered in getting one but unfortunately it was well out my budget when it was just newly out 😱
There great cars five series will go in price quicker I’m just a massive fan of the 3 series mate great all rounders 😎👍
I sold my 335d touring XDrive in the summer last year, fully specced including adaptive M-sport suspension…great car in all conditions. Sold it privately and a car dealer almost took my hand off due to spec and condition the car was in. If buying another BMW it would have to be the M340d touring.

Awesome car mate, pulled like a train, loved the LCI upgrades, seriously thinking about the rear lights 🤔, to be honest was night and day performance increase on yours with them both being STG 1 mapped, still tho glad we got the RWD don’t think I could afford the tire change on the x drive if I got a bad puncture 😂
I know mate performance was fantastic nice car clean to enjoyed the experience still live rwd but I see why people go for x drive lci lights are nice 👌 😎
@@330dfam also noticed the upgraded I drive/ controls and piano black surrounds, personally I prefers the Matt finish but pretty Much the same interior, minus the HUD and and other electrics, seats etc
M340d only has a mild hybrid, not a full hybrid system it just aids in the acceleration. No electric mode. These 335d's are fantastic.

I have a 335d f30 with stage 1 tune (370hp and 720nm).
I tried to do a dpf delete last week but i messed up big time.
I spent over 7 hours trying to get the dpf out only to realize that you have to remove the entire motor mount to get it out. I don’t have the knowledge or the tools required to remove a motor mount.
I couldn’t find any other way to get the dpf out so i had to put everything back together which took another 3 hours.
so i just want to know this:
How did you guys remove the dpf?
Did you have to remove the motor mount or not?
Did you gut the dpf and put it back in or did you completely replace it with a downpipe?
What about the yearly MOT inspection? The car won’t pass inspection if the dpf has been removed.
Hello mate sorry for the time you lost this isn’t our car it’s a friends and I think this was all done before he got the car ..I know both our f31 and f30 on the channel both have the dpfs the e92 and e91 have had there’s removed ..most people just removed the internal of the dpf and keep the case so it looks legit

Hi mate it’s Tom, yer u need to remove the engine mount!, when I did it on the e91 needed a engine support to hold it in position while I removed the mount, dpf wise, if u gut yours you will need it mapped out, with it looking STD you shouldn’t have an issue with mot, if you go down-pipe route, will still pass on emissions just if they notice they technically can fail it but would have to be a dick to do that, if engine is running well emissions won’t be an issue 👍🏻😎
@@sebbekartellen6493 yep you have to remove the engine mount nightmare job! 😏 unfortunately mate. MOT could be issue depends if you got a friendly one 😉
@@simonnoad4518 Yeah it is a nightmare job for sure. I bought an engine lift and did it myself. It was an absolute pain to get to the engine mount bracket bolts. I had to use a bunch of special tools and extensions.
If you buy a 335d it must have adaptive Msport suspension!. Doesn’t need lowering….aesthetics are fine👍

Awesome cars! But suspension from BMW on them is rubbish adaptive or not if you want the best upgrade you can get is Birds B3 suspension had on both my BMW’s I’ve owned. In answer to your question on the video BMW set the suspension up four up full tank of gas on German smooth autobahn, talk to Kevin at birds trust me 👍

Really should look them up they do development beyond BMW , stock cars have weaknesses like any.

@@330dfam get that! But they will post what you need get your local trusted to fit or do yourself depending how hands on you are. Still just call Kevin he is very happy to talk to you for half hour on the phone and explain what they done to develop that B3 kit neither the bilstien dampers or Eibach springs are off the shelf items, only available through them. Sorry to wuffle on but I’ve just had it fitted to my 2015 335dx and it’s transformative!
I have to disagree with Gareths dad the x drive do need lowering aliitle not just for aesthetics.The chassis itself is fantastic but because of the higher softer suspension the body roll and boat like floaty feeling makes the body itself feel heavy when pushing it into corners
At speed on a choppy back road they do tend to be alittle wavey,it doesn't help that all newer cars have electronic power steering so offers little to no feel of what front wheels are doing
X drives imo all want lowering to get the very best out of them
The drive train is absolutely fantastic but I don't rate the se springs on the x drives
Hi mate I’d probably upgrade the springs just for the look however ground clearance isn’t a bad thing on these roads ..absolutely terrible they are 😬👍🧐
Lowering would mainly be for aesthetics, bmw do put a lot of time into designing, the height is mainly to do with design etc, lowering and stiffening will help with cornering, but it’s a compromise on normal driving/setup, I don’t disagree but depends on how u drive the car and environment, it still handled well mine and martins RWD would definitely needed opposite lock and a bit of feathering of the throttle 😂
@330d fam 😎 out takes the x drives are all way too soft and soggy imo even for daily driving I drove a 35d with eibach springs and the transformation was fantastic without any comprise on comfort

Adaptive M-Sport suspension helps sort that out, probably the best option on the car but difficult to find on a used car.
Which felt better overall the 535d or the 335d
Hi mate tough one that the 5 series feels comfortable and refined the and felt more savage on acceleration as it’s rear wheel drive more of a hand full we’re the 335d just gripped and went in all honesty mate i couldn’t decide between the two , would take a lot of thought 😂👍
Two different cars mate, as Martin said, the 535 felt a bit more savage as RWD also a bit more refined inside as more space, but the 335 did feel like it had more grip and better on launch, but as much as I love the 3 series controversially think I prefer the 5 series interior
