    Whelen 295SLSA1
    siren sound/tone review.
    [Comparing My first two videos.]
As you may have noticed that
the old videos I had made left
    much to be desired.
In the fact that I did not have
the camera sitting in the same
place when I took the second video compared to the first video and/or
that I did not have the siren/car
in the same place as in the first
    video and second video.
As it was an spur of the moment
idea to record the first video and
then I realized after making the
first video that I needed to have
it operating in 100 watt/200 watt
    mode to hear the difference.
so I did a different shoot on a different day on the second video.
I was also operating the siren on
one whelen speaker in the first
    video, 'aka' 100 watts.
I then used two sirennet speakers
in the second video,'aka' 200 watts.
I also had the camera at different distance from the siren/car.

So what I am trying to say is,
This new video was all shot at the
    same time and distance
    ( 100 Ft )
from the camera and it was all
    shot in one sequence.
No stopping of the camera or touching/messing with it.
    I burned/wasted all that memory
card and time, and ran through
all of the siren tones the first
    time at 100 watts.
I then connected the second speaker
and ran through all of the tones
    again.
I hope it was time well spent.
If anything I am more pleased
    with it.

I love the alternate wail and yelp it's what my local pd uses and when I hear it I know they're running hot to something. It's very distinctive over the ambulance and sheriff department sirens.

is the warble on the front or is there some kind of mod that needs to be done to the unit to be able to use the warble tone?

My department here in Hawaii, we aren't allowed lights nor sirens. My department alone covers an area of 50sq miles and if there's no driver for the engine, I have to respond POV like a regular person driving to a destination. We aren't allowed to enter burning structures. We had SCBAs on our engine, but someone complained and we no longer have them as SCBAs. We do have the thanks though for the air bags. And we only respond to fires, no accidents or medicals.

One thing I've noticed is that the 200W sounds quieter and "tinnier" on this video. Just so people don't get confused, 200W is indeed louder, the reason it doesn't sound this way, I'm guessing, is because the volume is affecting the microphone on the camera...

I bought the same siren for my dodge, I like it lot but i'm only running 1 100w speaker. it's pretty loud on it's own, of course i tested it out with some friends when i first got it by going out to a little used road miles away from anything, did a few drives bys sounded great, behind another vehicle it wasn't that clear but in defense it was a jeep which has a lot of body/tire noise to mask it when traveling at speed

Then just have it so it's not one of the tones, that's the whole point of the siren, customization. Now if you lived in my area, those two would be your main tones, lol...
