- Brand New WHELEN EPSILON EPSL1 100 watt siren Amplifier with P.A. Mic. 23 Scan lock siren tones. Bought if from Strobes N More .com for $129.99 THIS WAS A CUSTOM BUILT SIREN MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR STROBESNMORE.COM ON A CONTRACT THEY HAD WITH WHELEN. IT IS NO LONGER PRODUCED OR MADE BY WHELEN. WHELEN STILL MAKES THE NORMAL EPSILON SERIES SIRENS BUT THEY ONLY HAVE THE STANDARD 9 EPSILON TONES.

I'm kicking myself in the ass now for not buying this awhile back when they had them on sale. Now every whelen siren they have similar to this is $250+ easily.
JRG nope the whelen GAMMA 2 is 153.99 everywhere including on strobes n more. The gamma 2 has 23 tones like this
That is so cool with so many different tones! Too bad they’re not being made anymore you know
Just bought one off eBay...can't wait to install it
I love the hyper Yelp. Wish I could run reds and sirens here
I've never heard a three-tone Dutch ambulance siren or a vibrating German Martinshorn on an American siren before.
Audinos neither have I, it is awesome though! Thanks for watching.
Correction, that vibrating hi-lo at 3:48 is actually used in Sweden, not Germany, and this is coming from a Swede, the tones used in Germany is similar but still different. In Sweden said hi-lo is used together with a yelp for intersection clearance, the emergency services here has also recently started using the air horn sound from Whelen. All the sounds used come from Whelen, but the units in the emergency vehicles are made by a company called Standby AB, I believe they have some sort of license agreement or so with Whelen. Not trying to brag or anything, I just thought I'd provide you with some more correct and hopefully interesting information.
@@SebMcayon So that kind of tone is used in Sweden too? I've heard hi lo in US, not very frequently, but sometimes. I think in China and Japan the Hi-Lo is more similar to that. French or German or even Dutch sirens sounds more like a horn, while this North American and Asian version sounds more like a piano, or as someone says, flute or clarinet.
@@davidfreeman3083 Correct, here's some examples, the pitch is different in some of them, but it's basically the same; czcams.com/video/S8QsRDZ7AG0/video.html
@@SebMcayon Oh sorry didn't notice that tone. I've heard Hi-Lo sometimes in the US, but rarely the same, brass like tones like most of the Europe. It is lighter, and more like electronic/woodwind instruments.
Wow, what a diverse siren
ChinaLake100 this should be renamed Whelen America because America is diverse and so is this siren.
This is the siren used by the Aurora Police Department in Colorado. Neat video.
Used in Mexico too
Love the powercall
Matt Johnson thanks, it sounds even better in person
LouisianaLights&SirensCollector are these good sirens for a volunteer FD vehicle? I think this is the siren i’ll go with when i start volunteering
@@Ohio_FireGroundPhotography It should be. EMS and FD here loves powercall.

More wail tones! :)
Isnt there a yelp type manual siren
Que precio tiene la sirena y si incluye la bocina en la compra
Esa sirena aún existe?aún la venden????
3:17 meme:
Whelen employee: should we copy the dutch 3 tone siren
Boss: yes
The wail and the yelp sounds like the RCMPs siren
Cedrick Plays yes this is whelens new style yelp. It is on all the cencoms, all epsilons, and all new mfg. 295sls sirens
LouisianaLights&SirensCollector my only problem is i cant find out what the rcmp uses. Theres like no other department that uses the same siren. So its rare ish
Cedrick Plays they most likely use one of the whelen cencon sirens.
LouisianaLights&SirensCollector most likely
I wish we could use these on our POVs when we head to calls we only get to use lights and a horn been wanting find one with just a horn that way if anyone says we were using sirens then I can be like uhm no just honked my horn
I know this video is very old but one of the only ones I can find. I have this siren, but can't seem to get the extra tones it is only going through the whelen tones. do you know what the issue could be? It says "Made by Whelen for StrobesNMore, so It isn't a regular epsilon. TIA
What's the manufacture date? I know to begin with they didnt have the extra tones. I think they only started having them later on in the SnM contract with whelen or at least I think thats how it was.

The first set of tones when you began using the screwdriver, were SICK! The wail, yelp, and “slow yelp” were awesome.
What is the proper name slower yelp setting?
You mean the fast yelp? It it called Y249 or Yelp249

Found one like this on siren net but it says only 9 scanlock patterns, and cant seem to find this on strobesnmore... where can iget the model with 23 shown here?
RailsandRoads unfortunatelty strobes n more had these custom built and designed specifically for them. Sadly strobes n mores sold all of these and their contract with whelen ended and they will no longer make or carry these. Sorry. If you want one with these tones you will have the buy the whelen Gamma 2 siren which strobes n more sells for 153.99 which is a good price. Use the coupon code SHIPUPS for free shipping.
So the gamma 2 has all these tones then?
RailsandRoads yes it does.
LouisianaLights&SirensCollector i dont suppose youd be willing to sell this one would you?
LouisianaLights&SirensCollector ?
That one specific model where you can get more than one set of siren tones.
Actually, with the newer models, you have a huge selection of tones, all can be changed via the whelen software.
czcams.com/video/1NvVjwSnMbw/video.html
How are you controlling all these other tones?
There's a button on the back of the unit that can only be pressed with a small screw driver. You have to set the siren to each mode to set the tones for that mode only. For instance, if you set the siren to MAN 1 or MAN 2 and press the button it will only give you the manual tones. So the tone banks are set to each mode. To get all the normal tones you set the siren to HF or T1, 2, or 3. Hope this helps :-)
Explains alot lol. Always wondered how everything was being controlled by so few buttons
Whats the diffrence between this and the saphiare
Rambo the gamer 33 the Cencom Sapphire doesn't have all of these tones and the sapphire has lighting controls.
LouisianaLights&SirensCollector
Thanks
federal signal on a whelen? what
how did you get all the extra tones I have the same sirens but only with the first few that you showed
Juilo Portez this siren was custom made specifically for strobesnmore.com thats why is has 23 tones.
Juilo Portez i Guess strobesnmore requested to have it with 23 tones
yes thats exactly what they did
Actually he is wrong. It comes with all 23 Scan Lock tones straight from the factory. You don't need to custom order this with all the tones. It already comes with them.
PlatinumEagleStudio's No you are wrong. The Standard and only whelen epsilon that is sold only has 9 tones. Strobesnmore.com had a contract with whelen for these to be custom with 23 tones INSTEAD of the standard 9 tones.
sounds like a cencom saphire
Hi lo
Same as 295sl100
Diane Mckimmy No its not. The SL100 doesnt have all of these tones.

I want a product.
Are you a police officer? If so, do you get your own police car, and allowed to modify it?
LAFD SIREN
You missed a tone
2:28 FAKE TOUCHMASTER!! >:(
That's whelen. Copying federal again
