    I'm kicking myself in the ass now for not buying this awhile back when they had them on sale. Now every whelen siren they have similar to this is $250+ easily.

      Correction, that vibrating hi-lo at 3:48 is actually used in Sweden, not Germany, and this is coming from a Swede, the tones used in Germany is similar but still different. In Sweden said hi-lo is used together with a yelp for intersection clearance, the emergency services here has also recently started using the air horn sound from Whelen. All the sounds used come from Whelen, but the units in the emergency vehicles are made by a company called Standby AB, I believe they have some sort of license agreement or so with Whelen. Not trying to brag or anything, I just thought I'd provide you with some more correct and hopefully interesting information.

      @@SebMcayon So that kind of tone is used in Sweden too? I've heard hi lo in US, not very frequently, but sometimes. I think in China and Japan the Hi-Lo is more similar to that. French or German or even Dutch sirens sounds more like a horn, while this North American and Asian version sounds more like a piano, or as someone says, flute or clarinet.

      @@davidfreeman3083 Correct, here's some examples, the pitch is different in some of them, but it's basically the same; czcams.com/video/S8QsRDZ7AG0/video.html

      @@SebMcayon Oh sorry didn't notice that tone. I've heard Hi-Lo sometimes in the US, but rarely the same, brass like tones like most of the Europe. It is lighter, and more like electronic/woodwind instruments.

Sadly strobes n mores sold all of these and their contract with whelen ended and they will no longer make or carry these. Sorry. If you want one with these tones you will have the buy the whelen Gamma 2 siren which strobes n more sells for 153.99 which is a good price. Use the coupon code SHIPUPS for free shipping.

    How are you controlling all these other tones?

    • @PlatinumEagleStudios
      @PlatinumEagleStudios Před 5 lety +3

      There's a button on the back of the unit that can only be pressed with a small screw driver. You have to set the siren to each mode to set the tones for that mode only. For instance, if you set the siren to MAN 1 or MAN 2 and press the button it will only give you the manual tones. So the tone banks are set to each mode. To get all the normal tones you set the siren to HF or T1, 2, or 3. Hope this helps :-)

      PlatinumEagleStudio's No you are wrong. The Standard and only whelen epsilon that is sold only has 9 tones. Strobesnmore.com had a contract with whelen for these to be custom with 23 tones INSTEAD of the standard 9 tones.
