The best jazz-funk groove on the planet.. These guys are the Masters and today's so called musicians are miles and miles behind these guys.
Marcus Miller is probably the most used session bass player of our time, he knows when to take the stage, or when to take a step back. That's what it's all about and makes him such a great musician. Everybody who has ever seen him perform live knows he's one of the baddest ass bassplayers ever to have walked the face of the earth. Ask Luther, Herbie, George, Al, Miles, David....and the list goes on!

I never tire of hearing this particular performance. Everything was just right. Gadd and Miller, Saisse and Sample, the BGVs, Eric Gale and Paulinho filling the gaps with taste, and then...Jarreau.

It's a love fest of great musicians that play the funk without an easy, experienced hand. The LA heavies don't need to overstate their style. Like Steely Dan and the CTI sound , these guys are my heroes.

Oh yeah..I know this song since his first LP "Glow" (1974) and this started my interest & love for him...also his band during the 70's had been a great match (Joe Correo, Tom Canning , Paul Stallworth a.o.)..but this line-up is really cool & tight groovin'..too bad Al couldn't make it thru & it's very sad to loose another great musician...he will be missed by many & may he RIP
