- Is 99%ile in CAT enough for selection at IIMs? Especially the top IIMs like IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Calcutta? While it may be but IIM selection process has many factors that becomes important apart from the percentile in CAT. So if you are a CAT aspirant or someone who attempted the cat paper and did not convert IIMs even at 99 percentile, then this video is for you.
You will have a lot of good options and you will do great in any B-school that you join or any field you pursue. There are certain things in the system which are not in your control and you should not blame yourself for that!

Brother I have 10 cgpa in 10th but i have a 12th score(59%) as I am from Telangana intermediate board with 67.1% but they are calculated with cumulative score 11 and 12 . will it affect my selection ?. I want to write cat 2025 being in my final year of BBA .
Yess bro it’ll affect. Just focus on scoring 99.95+ percentile to increase your chances of getting into Top B schools. Forget about A,B,c

Sir I have 9 months work ex and I had resigned in October last year for CAT 2023. Giving CAT again this year. Im aiming for a short 3 month stint to add to my work ex to make it 12 months. So can I do a full time internship somewhere and will that count? Or what should I do?

Bro you can get top iims you have that ease of category..and iit grad which also fetches points in some colleges..you can get it around 98 also. But target above 99

Atleast every iim should normalise 10th and 12th marks according to state boards.

Sadly, the IIMs don't consider the colleges in which the student is studying when taking into consideration their graduation percentage. I am majoring in Physics from IIT Kharagpur, but here only 6-8 students out of a batch of 50 students have 8+ cgpa. The highest from the batch goes like 9.3-9.4, this doesn't mean we don't have studious people compared to tier2 tier3 colleges but the marking schemes sucks(and the questions in the exam), due to which our grades also does. On the other hand, my friends from other colleges(tier2-tier3) boast of having a 9+ cgpa.
Yesss even in DU they do not give 8+ easily but some private institutes give even 9+ easily

I got 86 percent in 10 th and 87 percent in 12th ( west bengal board)and 7.99 cgpa in bsc. Sir what CAT score is safe for me to secure IIMABC
Aim for 99.5+ you are completely safe and assured you will get iim abc

Another reason you didn't mention is Reservation
I'm not sure for PI round but converting the final results also matter.
General just has 35-40% seats now.
SC/ST/OBC get into so less %ile
In my college(SRCC)One of my seniors wasn't able to convert IIM A even at 99.9%ile whereas an SC got into with 91%ile
And then reserved category flexes for being in IIM

They aren't enough capable. Just got lucky with reservation and brag of their IIM TAG.
That's one the big reasons ISB is better. Much much better in terms of crowd

I got 99.49 %ile in CAT'23 (all sectionals cleared), but I still did not get any calls from BLACKISM and even FMS, and now ultimately I'm going abroad to do my master's.
