IIM Selection Criteria | Profile required for MBA from IIMs | IIM Ahmedabad & Bangalore Criteria

- CAT exam is not the only criteria for selection in IIMs. Some one can get a call from IIM Ahmedabad at 90 percentile as well depending on the academic background. Also, someone can get rejected at 99.9 percentile as well!

My Background:
I appeared for CAT twice. In 2017 I scored 99.21 percentile where I only had call from Indore among the BLACKI and scored 99.91 percentile in CAT 2018 where I had call from all IIMs except IIM Bangalore. I managed to convert all calls in 2018 and joined IIM Ahmedabad for the 19-21 batch!
Please note IIM Bangalore criteria has slightly changed from my time. So not to get confused posting it here

Heyyy Ananta, you've explained the concept very beautifully, Hats Off for that. I just have one query, how would the graduation category be decided if I have done 2 Bachelors Degree( BCom(hons) which falls under AC 3, and B.Ed(humanities) which falls under AC 5 category), although in terms of marks, in both the degrees I got around 78%, so the point would be 8 only, but dono me se konsi category me I would fall into according to this? AC 3 or AC 5??
BTech and bsc are different courses it can't be compared with each other

Bhaiya aapki cgpa to 8.1 thi then how your percentage is below 75 , i guess for percentage cgpa is multiplied by 9.5 then by that logic ur percentage should be above 75 ??

pretty normal so I cant use that as a leverage.
I'd suggest u to target XAT rather than CAT 'cuz based on ur profile there's a very low chance of making into any IIMs(even baby or new)even if u score 99.9+. Not here to demotivate u. XLRI doesn't stress on academics and isn't profile based. Doe u might be asked questions related to that in the PI round in case if u're able to get one. XLRI competes with top 3 IIMs and is a good option. All the best.

I have a doubt. Last week, I filled out my application form for my CAT exam. At that time, my 6th-semester result was not available, so I entered the aggregate percentage of my last 5 semesters, which was 69.25%. However, today, the 6th-semester result was released, and my overall percentage is now 71%. Is there any way I can update my marks, and will this have an impact on my selection criteria?
