Malan Bar Kir - Kurdish Song
Vložit
- čas přidán 2. 05. 2024
- Vocals & arrangement by Farya Faraji. This is a traditional Kurdish song in memory of the victims of the Dersim massacre. The arrangement is entirely Anatolian in nature and revolves around the saz family of Anatolia. A short neck bağlama is used with a divan saz, the largest member of the saz family, a cura saz, its smallest member, and the current contemporary form of the kopuz. The Maqam is Bayat, and a subtle Western chord progression in the form of arpeggiated chords is provided by the kopuz as the song goes on.
Lyrics in Kurdish:
Malan bar kir lê lê çûne waran lê
Dînê lê dînê lê Dînara min
Goştê me xwar lê lê mişk û maran lê
Keçê lê rîndê lê Hewala min
Ez sewî me lo lo ber desta me lo
Delalo delalo delalê min
Brîndar im lo lo bê xwedî me lo
Hewalo hewalo hewalê min
Malan bar kir lê lê koç bi rê ket lê
Dînê lê dînê lê Dînara min
Dilêm eşiya lê lê agir pê ket lê
Keçê lê rîndê lê bermaliya min
English translation:
They moved, moved to foreign lands
You crazy, crazy, crazy of mine,
Mice and snakes ate the meat of our bodies,
You girl, you beauty, friend of mine
I am an orphan, I am a captive,
You handsome, handsome one of mine,
I am wounded, I am forlorn,
You friend, friend of mine
They moved, moved to foreign lands
You crazy, crazy, crazy of mine
My heart aches and is set on fire
You girl, beauty, my companion - Hudba

This song is a coming of age for the Kurds, it is called lament. Kurdish villages were bombed and burned by PKK racist communist partisans, and their children were kidnapped. Turks & Kurds unite and fight against PKK. and all separatist racist partisan communists have now been expelled from Turkey. Now they are all communists in Iraq and generally in Northern Iraq. Russia supports them.

KURDISH SONG
you are great human to think of the bitter history genocide and remind it to the world .. we need more people like you ..
I just recently found out about my grandfather's passing and it's the HARDEST hit I've taken in life so far, so I'm listening to this to atleast try to control my anguish. I loved my grandfather just as how I love this type of music and channel, so please cherish the things you enjoy in life as much as you can....
May he rest in peace. It's always almost inconceivably hard in the beginning, but one can and does pull through in the end.
@@faryafaraji Thanks, Faraji. Your struggle with that corporation stealing your stuff also helped in me pulling through and I'm not as distraught as I was before.
That's truth, this music is very well. Sorry for your grandfather and his people.

I am a simple man: I see a farya's new song, I click on it, I like it.
I am a Kurd and I have been following Farya's content with great pleasure for a long time and when I heard this old song in my own language, I was very touched and proud, she sang it very beautifully and as someone who plays the baglama, I can say that he has done a perfect job, I hope there will be more Kurdish songs because there are endless beautiful songs. I wish brotherhood, peace and freedom to the whole world and I thank you all...
not "she" but "he" :)
@@Kambises1 thanks man. i hate translation programs...
A musical piece consisting entirely of saz instruments? I have been blessed. Respect to the Kurds
>asks for more Kurdish songs in Saladin comment section
>One week later: gets notification about a new Kurdish banger from Farya
This is gorgeous. I'm filipino not kurd but the layered instrumentals and emotional delivery reminds me how much western society takes the nuance and emotion out of traditional folk music all around the world. Music like this hits you in the gut. And i feel western media can't ever have another culture taking the stage of their own productions. Please continue playing such beautiful music.
Only Farya Faraji could put out another song only half a week after dropping an hour-and-a-half-long symphony
Every time i listen to kurdish music the melody reminds me a lot of some greek songs. (I am greek)
Exactly the same when I listen Greek music. It reminds me of Kurdish music. With only point that I don’t understand the Greek language. But I feel like at home❤️ greetings to Greek people from a Kurd ❤️ 🇬🇷

@@markushans thank you very much my kurdish friend! I would love to learn more about your culture and your history. I know very basic things.
Probably I am not the only one that hits like before the video starts. This man is a true artist!
I'am guessing Farya Faraji is more Iranian because he still has yet to make Assyrian, Akkadian, and Sumerian music. Which would be amazing to here spoken high Akkadian by him.
Love all of your videos, but as a kurd myself, these covers are a real treat. Thanks a lot for everything you do

genocide? A rebellion was suppressed, and it would be done the same way in any country in the world. Do not try to create false victimization. You look like a loser. Also, there is no such place as d*rsim. That's Tunceli.
Hello, Farya, thanks for this great masterpiece. What about making a symphony about battle of Qadisiyah or Nahavand?

Hey bro. Make some history videos about Kurds. Saladin and others for example.
Aye Cy, cool to see you here! (I discovered your podcast recently, been listening to the episodes on the Achaemenid Empire). What a small world
Hey bro, Can you make videos about the Kurdish empires, such as: the Median, Mitanni, Hurrian, and Gutian empires? Especially I want to see a video about King (Cyaxares the Great). If you can, at least make a video for us about this king. It will be an honor for us Kurds. I hope you will respond to me, thank you very much

Splendid in every sense.
So a tear ran across my eye as soon as I heard this song. Something in me knew it was about tragic love, separated by distance. Greek music has similar depictions of this feeling, and it's so unifying to see how cultures with some relative proximity share certain traits. Kudos, friend.
Thank you, as a Kurd I give you approval that this is an awesome rendition of this great song.
It’s usually sung with a faster pace, but I enjoyed this change of pace as well
Hey Farya!
I was wondering, are you gonna make another song in your mother tongue? its been a long time from your last tabari/mazanderani song!

Wow amazing🔥
What is your ethnic?
Tabari/Mazanderani AKA Tapurian.
Awesome. The rhythm is so unusual to my ears. Could you explain how you go about counting this? Is this all just "out of feeling", basically guided by the melody? How would you write this up in notation?
This song is in duple metre, so you can count it as "one, two, one, two," and you'll notice that each "one" falls on the percussive beat that drives the song. 2/4 or 4/4 are two ways to write this in Western terms.

Hey! Did I just get 'saz'ed by Farya?
It's very nice . Please play this music too "Ez Xelefım - Şıwan Perver"
I'm really interested in the usage of the words dînê and dînara for ''crazy''. Are these words connected to the Arabic dīn, or are they native Iranian terms?
Dîn, dînara, dêwane, dêwîn, all have roots in the proto-iranian word *daywánah - comparable to the arabic مجنون, meaning demon-possesed or crazy. Dîn or diyanet can also be used for the word "religion" borrowed from Quranic arabic
@@roniNetewiKurdistan Thanks. Do you think the Arabic terms originate from Iranian or are they simply similarities?
