    Nice work!! I'm building a humanoid robot as well as Iron Man suit out of PLA. The best adhesive I've used is Krazy Glue craft gel in addition to using a 3D pen on the inseam. Also using XTC 3D to reduce sanding drastically and fill in the layer lines, but it can be problematic for some heavily detailed areas as it may fill them in too much. FYI. Cheers!

  • @sintoxic
    @sintoxic Před 7 lety

    A really nice thing to get rid of layer line apart from filler primer (Füllspachtel) is XTC-3D resin.

    Had a question, have you ever primed your 3d printed pieces with a few coats of silver so that you can scrape away the top coat to reveal it? Does that work or does it just take off both layers

  • @lightningandcloud
    @lightningandcloud Před 7 lety +5

    quick tip with the printing. instead of throwing away that piece that didnt finish and printing the whole thing again which my guess took another 7+ hours at least you could possibly print the section that was missing by having the start layer print wherever it failed plus a few extra layers just incase (which you could just cut away to match) and usual sand,glue,sand again, fillers. just so you dont have to print the whole part again sure it uses a little more elbow grease but thats the fun

    I print small 1:3 scale objects that have letters embossed in them, sometimes. I've tried to mask the area around it with a rectangle and then put paint on it then wipe it off and hope enough paint remains in the tiny letters but I can't get rid of the smudge around it.
    Does anybody please have a good method for this?

      i recommend starting with a creality ender 3 ($300) or a flashforge finder ($533) from amazon and buying some filament by the kg ($20), having a paint scraper,some acetone and a power bar would also be recommended. totally worth getting tho,mine has defiantly paid for itself.

    @Sai1523 Před 6 lety

    So I don't know anything about 3D printing. When you say something was separated into multiple pieces do you mean the printer just happened to do that or you had to divide the workload into different parts manually? I don't suppose the printer decides to do things one at a time leaving you to decide how to reassemble the now dissembled part.

    • @ralfzimmermann7775

      Kaighen from experience it cost me about $30 for 25 yards of some ABS. You could print somewhere between a third and a half of all of that with that much. Depends how much fill you have in the parts of course.
