- As suspect but unconfirmed until now, we’re getting at least one new Warcry scenery set - and it’s ALL BRAND NEW! Savage Lands: Scales of Talaxis. I dig into what this means for the lore, what’s included and whether you should care. Frankly, I think Warcry Savage Lands: Scales of Talaxis looks quite nice!

I'm a sucker for this kind of terrain
Yeah, it's pretty cool, isn't it? :)
I really don't need anymore, but... also... I really like it! AND it doesn't look like it'll get caught on my sleeves as much as the other stuff. Ugh, my poor wallet. Especially with those Gorgers on the way too
Really want them to do a catacombs style box with the inside of the void ship. Also be interested what Mortal Realm they will go to next (hopefully Shyish). Will buy this if it’s a good price like you said but will probably buy it at a bad price as well 😂
A catacombs revisit would be bloody brilliant! It's such a fun version of the game, although I fear it may be written off due to poor sales. I *actually* bought mine from GW at a reduced price (which hardly ever happens), and had been put off as it contained the same core book and half the same scenery, but was certainly glad I got it! Hopefully plans of the playstyke will win over box sales.
Also: realm - I'm happy with any of 'em! Roll on 4th ed! :)
I feel they mucked up their timing and this was supposed to have come out as the finale to the previous season.
Ahh, who knows? We certainly do seem to be loitering in Ghur and the Gnarlwood a wee bit longer and even Warhammer Underworlds which hops all over the place has hung about in Ghur for another season (albeit a super frosty area of Ghur). I'm not sure we'll see something startlingly different until we see the Age of Sigmar narrative take a big shift in the summer. It'll be interesting to see if another realm takes the spotlight from there :)
This should have been in the last two sets of the "season" (I hate this whale catching bs). They could have sold the additional tree features from set 3&4 in an extra package to individualize your terrain. If this box costs more than 70€ then I am out. I got the whole Stormvault set for 70€ new in a store in 2019. GW's greed is worthy of Slaanesh.
@@pcuimac nah no way it will cost 70€. Thats too reasonable!
It does feel like this scenery is part of the narrative arc they set up... I don't think we'll see another big box for a while though
@@BazantiGW just added 20% "inflation" to the 2019 price. And they cut the parts of a real starter set in such a convinient way that you have to buy that Frankenbox of a starter set plus Hunter & Hunted AND the Talaxis terrain set! Which would cost you 275€!
oh this randomly gave me the thought of a shyish warcry season themed around a ruined city like in Cursed City (or mordheim) that would be super hype honestly
A great idea! I'm also intrigued to see whether we'll head in a similar direction to the Age of Sigmar narrative come fourth edition in the summer. The Dawnbringers are setting forth more and more and the Dawnbringer settlement scenery is ripe for expansion... I wonder if a city fight/mordheim/cursed city Warcry could be on the horizon as you suggest? I'd sure love to see it.
I would love that. I play warcry and mordheim mostly, and getting some terrain that fits both would make me super happy (original warcry box terrain works quite well as filler ruins, so let's hope it's not as out there and setting specific as this is)
I'd be really pleased if we got something with a bit of a mordheim feel but mostly just interested to see where we end up!
This is cool, I didn't know all that stuff about the lizard space ship crashing into the planet.
Ahh, yeah - it turned an already angry meaty forest even angrier and meatier. Realmshapers which usually make *lovely* climates for the lizard folk got damaged and going a bit nuts, causing the fauna to grow even more aggressively than usual. Also, it's the Chaos God Tzeentch that caused the ship to crash in the first place. The rascal.
...I keep toying with the idea of doing some lore videos, but haven't quite settled on a format I'm happy with :).
I started this video and my first thought was “l didn’t know Bill Hader was into Warhammer?”
Haha! ...I really need to learn that Bill Hader dance :)
Great video as always. I like how you put new releases into perspective with older stuff. How does it compare? Where would it fit? What as been announced but not yet released? (hard to keep track ;) ). Keep it coming. :)
Thanks very much! I always hope it's help, and really appreciate the feedback :)
Correction: The Talaxis terrain set contains tokens and some terrain configuration cards. So you don't need to buy the starter set and the H&H set. So it's "just" 85€ to be able to use it. You still need to pay 192,50€ to get a full Starter Set with the same stuff like the last big Ghur box.
Just notice that GW now puts the token sheet in a seperate Starter Set with recycled Underworlds warbands and the cards for the new Talaxis terrain into the Hunter and Hunted set! The H&H set also includes a terrain piece that's not in the teraain set (sold seperately 😅). Now the nastieness of GW CEOs and their greed is laid bare for all to see!
GW wants you to pay 85+85+105€ = 275€ for a decent starter set!
Ahh, see... I actually quite like this release pattern. I see it more as aimed at someone who maybe wants one piece of all of these things, and whilst collecting the whole lot is darn pricey, being able to pick up the bit you want instead of a chonkin' box is cheaper (unless you're adept at selling on/trading the excess). Additionally, positively, they said rules for the scenery will be released on Warhammer Community as a free PDF, so I'd expect a decent set of terrain cards within that 🤞🤞🤞. I imagine the terrain cards in Hunter and Hunted are just the Scales of Talaxis plus a Mawpit, for those few picking up both.
... anywho, I've pre-ordered H&H, so looking forward to getting my hands on it for a proper gander :)
@@HobbyJackalI agree. I made a mistake based on the preview on the Warhammer Community page. Sorry, but it's still a 50€ price increase.
Looks cool. 👍
It does, doesn't it?? I am *so* tempted... But probably need to make better progress with what I already have first.... Maybe. Probably.
Can you do a razordon Vs spawn of chotec comparison please
Hello! What kind of comparison are you after? I'd have to warn if it's tactics for AoS/Warcry I'm the last person you wanna ask (I recently lost 7 games in a row!) but happy to do some digging if I know what you're after :).
If it's more background/lore I did a nice video on the Spawn of Chotec when it was announced, and compared the design to the original Warhammer Fantasy Battle mini :) - it's here if that's of interest: czcams.com/video/NLLnS-l5p1I/video.htmlsi=HV_4ad5rTF0ctK0G
Just eat the damn orange!
But, the eating of an orange is much like a good marriage. 🍊
Thank you dreamy man
My thanks to you dear goblinoid!
And that's not all!
:D
One version of this video had me say that a few times and end say "That's all." and end the video. ...maybe next time.
@@HobbyJackal maybe Christmas time.
@@darrenj3720 Ahh, festive fun.
