- Here's one way to create a song that evolves through the use of an LFO to randomly pick sample slices for multiple tracks. All you need is an Elektron Octatrack and some samples with repeating (but not identical patterns).
Contents:
00:00 Introduction
01:10 Sample Previews
03:13 Setting Up the LFO
04:25 Testing the Trigger
05:52 Four Samples, All Random Slices
06:31 Add Some Drums - Hudba
You could make 5 slices, the fifth being silent. That would add some space without the 4 tracks constantly overlaying. Also add an LFO to invoke portamento so you get a slide between slices.
Absolutely. That’s the beauty of this method. Tons of flexibility.
How would you do the portamento?
Very cool technique, I'll give this a go
great ! - how did you make the chord-samples ? from a sample pack or self made ? thanks
Thanks. I made them using Native Instruments Playbox: www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/synths/playbox/
