If you want the color to come out less blotchy and more even, saturate the clothes with clean water before you add it to the paint water. It spreads the dye through the fabric more evenly.
Thank youuu
water with soap ?
BAKUGOU’S BIATCH no, just water
I love your vids!
Can I use fabric paint instead of doing all this?
Rinsing it under cold water before letting it dry gives more of an even finish ☺️
thank you xx
Wont it rinse off the paint?
@@ratskirobo4836 leave it to dry extra long and its should stay i did orange and it was fine dont know how it works on other colors. :))
Strange question ummmmm can you do a spot dye like to cover a bleach spot
Does it stain on your skin after?
DO NOT. REPEAT. DO NOT PUT SAFETY PINS IN A WASHING MACHINE.
If it comes undone, it can rip up clothing or break the machine. Please do not put safety pins in a machine. No metal!
K
Yeah just tie a knot at the top. Easy.
I always puts a large safety pin in the washer, nothing happens.
Actually, it might be cause it's very hard for it to become undone, and come off of the kilt it's on
vlctoriaa dont wait until something happens, be careful
This is gonna save so many people cosplaying on a budget lol, myself included! I just discovered this and I'm SO glad that I did!
FR! I need to dye this white hat but couldn’t find the correct color of dye, but found the correct color in paint. Literally saved me!😭
that is why i’m here😭😭
Tip! Fabric softener is a good alternative to the textile medium
What type of fabric softener?
@@blankbla7101 any liquid one. Whatever you use for your laundry
AH thank you!!
Thank was just about to ask that
Omg thank you for the tip!
If you wash the clothes with just water to get any chemicals out before you do the dyeing then it will probably help stop the splotchy areas.
I’m so cheap I do this all the time 😂, I had book character thing (I chose Alice in wonderland) I got a white shirt and skirt. I dyed it blue and made the apron with a large t-shirt.
I am Jungshook i feel you man
Did the color wash off?
Did you try it on denim once?
That's a cool way to cosplay!! You crafty person you 😆😄
So nifty!!!
It is a great idea to DIY to reuse clothing as fast fashion is the second largest polluter of the world, and I LOVE YER DIYS GURRRLLL!!! Please keep the DIYS and cost cutting tips coming! 🌍☀️💫🦄
Love you!
or if you your trying to hide from your kids the fact that there cloths are hand me downs LOL
Jesus ive been waiting for this video. Ive been looking for a new way to dye clothes 😣 the queen has saved my life again 😂
I've watched this video a few times (because I forget what I am supposed to do a lot) and if you are like me and are trying to get to the tutorial, go to 1:17 to skip the intro.
The intro does have some useful information so I do recommend watching that first if you are just starting.
this works great for minky fabric, too! which is great, cause i needed some minky in a specific pale skin tone colour for a character plush, and this method for getting that colour worked like a charm! the minky 'fur' gets a bit stiff when it's all dry, but just running a comb or brush over it gets it nice and soft again
I love the look of the tank!! Ty, ty, ty for the cool new dye ideas!!!
You are so creative, with all your clothes videos! Love them all please keep doing them ❤️
I just subscribed to you. I love thrifting, being frugal and diy clothes... and mustard yellow. sooo you're pretty much my spirit animal!
thank you so much, as someone who’s trying to look gorgeous on a budget this will be helpful 😍
I was scared you were going to drop the camera in the bucket 😂 but tge shirts came out so pretty
Yessssssssss I’m so glad you finally did a video of the paint dying
have you seen the harness that Jimin wore in the 4th muster live performance of best of me? I think it would be a real cool diy 😁
YOU READ MY MIND. I have seriously been loving that harness since I saw it lol
great minds 😂
Jin He think alike?
Jin He HE LOOKED LIKE A MEAL
Jin He Jimin was looking like a SNACK ✨🍑✨
This works super well! I'm doing a Joker cosplay, and I needed red gloves.I used this metheod and it worked amazingly. Imixed red with orange and it turned out nice. I'm also doing this with a hat, but its super heavy and the paint spreads VERY easily.I used dark blue for the hat. Wear gloves if you are doing this!!!
I've done some tie dye, and this would be so awesome to use this method instead of rit! Yay!! So awesome!
did this work with tie dye?
I think all the paint washes are so pretty!
Thank you so much for this, im trying to crochet something for Christmas for my sister but I only have white yarn rn and I cant go to the store rn you're a life saver😭 (I love your makeup its vy pretty)
I love textile medium. Last year I did a little project with my niece. We decorated t-shirts using stencils.
Your niece is very lucky to have a cool aunt that does art with them!
our queen is back 👑💕
I'm definitely going to try this method on like pillow cases and some covers for my wicker baskets
I love ur aesthetic! Minute that rose came through I thought “lemme subscribe “❤️😍🥰🥀🌹
These DIYs give me life 💕
OMG THIS IS PERFECT!!! I'm making my Renaissance Faire costume to match a shield that I painted with acrylic paint last year, and I was looking at Jo Ann and just *could not* find dye that matched the paint I used. *Problem. Solved.*
Edit: I haven't tried this method out yet, but I'll let you all know *when* I do! Bye! 😙
Brilliant AND gorgeous!! Thank you for sharing this!!! I have so many things I want to dye.... and the thought of that whole mess of a process holds me back! 😘💗🙏🌺
I go on binges of your videos and today is one of those days! Love that you do affordable and cute stuff that’s popular! Is there anything different that needs to be done if we don’t use the medium? If we just use the acrylic paint?
Yasss I’ve been waiting ❤️❤️
yayayaya this was well worth the wait! thank you!!
Great concept. Great diy. Easy, cheap, and simple steps to follow and remember.
I love how textured these look!
Lovingggg the background super cute 💕
Finally someone with decent diy videos
Thank you thank you thank you!!!! Ive been trying to find a specific color of green dye which was impossible, this method worked so well for me!
Definitely going to try this! I’m trying to make a light purple butterfly costume but apparently no one have a 2 piece purple set 🤦🏾♀️so going to try this out and hopefully this works!!
I might try this. I've wasted so much money on Dylon that doesn't take when following instructions to the letter, then trying tips and trick online like microwave fixing to no avail. Acrylic is way cheaper. I've also had some results cutting open a permanent marker and letting it bleed into the water.
Awesome as always 🌹🌹🌹
How are you not at at least 1 million, but mylifeaseva is at 8 million? Tbh your content is wayyy better
I can’t wait to try this!!!
Yasss new video am happy 😍😍😍
Wowww this is such a cool diy video! 😍❤️I know what I’m doing tomorrow❤️
MayainWonderland Hey! I’m a CZcamsr and I’m so close to reaching my goal...subscribing would mean so much 💞
I actually liked the look of the yellow shirt and how it was a darker yellow in some places
this is soooo helpful!!!! i am so doing this on my plain shirt!!!
RIT dye in Australia is like $15 for a tiny packet so I’m totally going to try this!
Natasha Rose try Procion dyes. Or even Tulip dyes.
Natasha Rose omg i know
Did it work?
That seems like alot bc in the U.S. of A it's only like 5 dollars.😂
Natasha Rose damn girl that’s rough it’s like $2 here 😭
I saw somebody dye faux suede boots with acrylic paint could u try that too maybe.
Mi's world. Who was it?
Omg this is gonna help so much when trying to make custom doll clothes! Thank you!
omg im doing the exact same thing!
nice video! all this quarantine has got me wanting to do some crafts lol
plz do the whole night out video, where u include tutorial of your skin routine, morning to night, doing ur make up, doing ur hair, nails and so on ....choosing clothes and even ur fav places to go! i would love to see it
When adding salt to paint h20 maybe help for the synthetics?
YEEEEESSSS FINALLY
Yasssss finally 😭😭
THIS IS AMAZING!
This is so cool ❤️❤️😍🔥
Yay finally ((: 💗💗
I have questions: #1 after wearing the shirt can you regularly wash it with the rest of the clothes or wash it separate ?
#2 if you use just the paint and water will it still work ?
#3 after washing it will the colour fade?
another amazing video !
That DIY really helps me ❤
I LOVE this channel♥️♥️
What if the garmet is a different color, like grey??
Just found your channel and i absolutely love it
Love the yellow color 💛
I’m addicted to you and your Intro song OMGGGG
Try tulip tie dye they sell it at Walmart for really cheap and all you need is water and a plastic bag it’s 🤗really fun to use
Okay, SO I’m plotting some arm sleeves for cosplay (and less body paint) would this be good to use on tights? I’m shooting for Data from Star Trek (TNG) so it’s gonna have to be a slightly faint color. Also, would adding a splash of metallic paint hold after drying and wash?
YOU'RE SO PRETTY WTFFFFD
Can you do the same thing but with oil paints.
If I let's the oil paint in hot water and then added it to the bucket do you think it would work.
Omg💞you're so beautifulll💕
does it come out when it comes out of the laundry? btw nice vid! i subbed :)
I am trying to dye a beige jumpsuit I had white, I used bleach and it didnt work you think if I used acrylic paint it would change the color?
Are ur eyes naturally light brown? You look so freakin pretty with them. Love you
Question: will this work with clothes that have a print? Or just plain white clothes? Will it dye over the print?
Ahhh I love u sm!
YESSSSS!
In my country RIT dye is stupidly expensive, my only question is, does it works with Denim jeans?
Most likley.
Hey did you try this with denim? If so did it work?
I’m not sure how the water would effect it but I paint on denim with paint and medium and it turns out nicely! Just wash your denim without any chemicals first so the paint will hold better
@@anastasiajames6365 any denim right? And do I need to have a specific brand of acrylic paint?
Excepting an apartment tour ahaha ❤️
Does this work on synthetic or polyester fabric? Thanks for the video
Hello ! I know it's a bit late to comment on the video but I have a question.
I'm dyeing my clothes but I don't have any dryer unfortunately. Does it work if I only let my clothes air dry ?
Does the dye last during the washes or does it come off easily?
This is pretty nifty. Loved this! I need to try this. 🌹
Love it great tutorial thankyou xx
After you added the second bottle of paint, did you add the other half of the textile medium?
Does it only work if you want to dye coloured fabrics as well?
Hi does the water and paint need textile medium or can you dye the fabric or garments without textile medium?
When she played G, my heart went !!!
Would this water to paint ratio work in a spray bottle format? You know, adding paint to water then putting it in a spray bottle, and then dying your clothes with it?
i have a pair of joggers i want to dye black so i’m glad i came across this video
@TheNavaRose is the dryer obligated? Or is it optional?
2 questions: what does the textile medium do? And do you have to put it through the dryer?
bella rodrigues it makes sure the shirt or whatever stays soft
It makes the paint flexible so it doesn't just get crusty and chip off :)
Your diys are so authentic and cute! Very refreshing from the CZcams content nowadays :)
Which is better to use hot or cold water while dyeing?
Could you like put the remaining mixture in squeeze bottle to store it? I’m wondering cause I wanted to use this dyeing method to tie dye! Putting it in a squeeze bottle might offer more control and a storage option as well. But then again the garment wouldn’t be able to soak unless it was really saturated which might’ve kinda hard to do from just a bottle 🤔
You can place the left over mixture in an airtight container.
Knowing acrylic you can put it in a squeeze bottle and splash it on the clothing piece like regular tie dye, diluted of course. Let it sit a few minutes and rinse it. Should work great
drying it with a blow dryer might be a good idea just make sure not to get too close cus once I messed up a shirt I burned it cus I put it too close to the material like litterly touching it but yeah thanks for sharing I will totally be trying this cus love the tye dye effect it gave
You've got a new subscriber 💓💓💓
Ooh there's this new acrylic paint called musou black. Supposed to be the blackest black paint (absorbs 99.4% light).
Would that work with this method, like keeping what light absorbing percentage?
thank you this is super helpful! i recognize u from tik tok and imma make a tik tok video about my results!
Is it gonna work if I use an old pair of blue (really blue) jeans to dye it in black ??
And does THE paint last when you wash it later on? OR will THE whole washer with clothes be yellow?
Laura Flohr yeah she said wait 3 weeks before you wash it
Brianna Turton oh thanx didnt hear that. Great then certainly gonna do this !!
hello, did you try it? did it work?
Creative Cheers of Fashion Laura Flohr did it turn the clothes a different colour?
