  • It was the big finale of the Oscars, Lady Gaga and the legendary Liza Minnelli presenting the award for Best Picture. But fans were concerned to see the 76-year-old Liza in a wheelchair, and by her apparent confusion. Now her longtime friend Michael Feinstein is telling Inside Edition that she was left confused by last-minute changes from producers. “She was sabotaged,” he said, saying that she was made to appear onstage in a wheelchair against her wishes, at risk of being removed from the show.

As a wheelchair user-- it's sad to see how many people see wheelchairs as a symbol of weakness when to me, they're a symbol of strength and mobility. Regardless, no one should be made to use, or not use, any mobility aid, ever. This is ludicrous.

Let's not forget the setting, which is all about image and not at all about substance. Plus, for some people, me included, a wheelchair would he seen as downgrading as opposed to being able to get around without. I don't find that strange, but rather find your attitude one of resilience and strength, not accessible to everyone unfortunately. Well done!

I mean, the fact that a person of her stature was callously snubbed for what really could've been easily accommodated, must have thrown her off kilter to begin with. Watching stuff like this happen day after day just makes you feel like the world is a 4 engine jumbo jet ✈️ that just ran out of gas in mid air…

@@virg0_lem0nade I’m watching them talking about jet fuel shortages on the news right now. I guess I’m not that “overdramatized” after all…

honestly she should just have straight up speak about it while on stage and said “its not my idea to come up here in a wheelchair”

Exactly. Liza being Liza, that's what she should have done.

This made me cry! Can you believe this remarkably talented woman who is the daughter of Hollywood iconic actress Judy Garland was treated so bad?! Hollywood has always unfortunately treated women unfair beyond words and put men actors & singers on a pedestal & it needs to change! My heart ❤ aches for her! Especially the shady way in which they went about doing it & then threatening her to cancel her out completely if she didn't go on stage in a wheelchair?! Publicity and more viewers to watch TV 📺 more higher ratings at the cost of a human beings feelings ultimately at times shattering that one person's entire life!

She's safer this way... She was literally shaken up, in more ways than one. People always have something to say...
