I used some very thin spruce T&G planking ( 3/8 or less thick) are the ceiling in my sailing yacht.. and it might be used to advantage in this cabin.. as could some very thin exotic marine grade plywood. Nicely finished.. could be very nice and practical too.

I am an old yachtsman, and I am looking at the cabin space and the gears are spinning as I try to conjure a layout with 2 burner galley stove and sink, head, and berths.. done in something nicer than wood grain contact paper. Of course the real virtue of aluminum is it's light weight and how little room the structure takes up. Hmmm. Of course what I am thinking about are long river trips ( missouri, mississippi, tenn tom, columbia, or hubba hubba, Sea of Cortez... although salt water demands a lot of special paint .

clearly the windows and their installation are a weak point.. so surprising since the hull is so wonderful ! They simply didn't have the adhesives and sealants then that we have now. Are you seeing corrosion in the windows that tell you the allow was less than wonderful .. or are there steel or other dissimilar metals failing ?
