Hollywood will have to rediscover that movies with a feel good and uplifting ending like this are what makes the audience happy, and a happy audience is a repeat audience.
This is one of the GRESTEST sporting moment in a movie!!! You can hate Golf!, You can love Golf! But you know we have that moment of pure belief we know we can... And then we lay-up.... Always wanting to ..... Always dreamed of .... Just Fu#@$IT! !!!! Lets hit the paint off it!
Great movie great movie dad an me loved this movie we would watch this every time it was on we would laugh an cry at the end because we were so happy he made the shot when everyone was thinking it was over he made the shot great movie if they could make movies like this again a good family movie
At 1:10 you can see me almost mid frame. On my I Pad screen I’m in between the PLAY arrow and the fast advance arrow. I’m wearing tan slacks black leather belt and a green and white diamond Polo shirt and a dark blue baseball cap. In 1996, the production of Tin Cup was occupying the King Wood golf course just outside Houston. I was a paid extra for 3 days that year. Being in a movie and watching it be made was a dream come true.
Love the people complaining about how implausible this scene is. Well, no kidding, folks - it's a movie. A work of fiction. That means you can make stuff up and pretend it's real even when it's clearly not. Do you also comment on Avengers clips to let everyone know that Mark Ruffalo wouldn't actually be able to turn into the Hulk on cue in the real world? (Spoiler alert!)
I don't want to be that guy, but how would the dudes jumping in the lake at 4:30 know which was the ball that went in the hole, compared with the 8 or so that he landed in the pond?
I guess that little gust suddenly turned into a 30 mph headwind. That’s the only way a perfectly struck 3 wood turns into a sand wedge with enough spin on the ball for it to fall straight down and then spin off the front of the green. Idiotic.
Nobody would do this shit in the real name, especially when you have a chance to win the U.S. Open and do the same shit putting one ball after another in the water.
Dude is trying to get home in two. His ball crossed the hazard which means he get's a drop about 20 feet from the hole, lying 3 on a par 5 and can still birdie the hole, or at worse, get a par. No golfer in the history of golf would do this. In fact, quite the opposite. Even coming in 2nd or 3rd in an event like this is life changing money. The glorification of ego is not what golf is about. It's about that score. I felt bad for his caddie that just lost a 100K payday because Cup was being a toddler. Wrong message to send to people about the game.
@@alanbanks3587 my point is that the story is just as good with a drop without the egomaniacal nonsense. It’s not a less feel good story. How about in the end he matures and learns not to act like a 4 year old? That’s a pretty good ending. And also positive. This is a negative ending. Dude just cost himself a fortune plus auto qualifying… you’re obviously not a golfer… :)
Ok... he obviously is stubborn and wants it on the green... I'm a professional golfer and when I'm pissed off, I'll keep going for it... this is what makes Tin Cup a great golf movie. If you got balls go for it

champions live forever, but legends never die
Loved this movie. Don Johnson really nails it as David Simms. I really wish Kevin and Don would work together again
Agreed. Don and Cheech went on to give us 6 seasons of Nash Bridges, which was great, but Costner and Johnson were brilliant in this movie.
Great clip, It's even better when it's not hacked to pieces like here.
"well then DO it, and quit f**king around....". -Cheech Marin

I just love how we went "we're home."
Great scene in my favorite movie of all time.
Why can't we have good movies like this anymore?
Hollywood should be ashamed of itself for falling so far so fast.
No way that first shot comes off the green
Zero chance
It's a movie bub lmao. Anything can happen in a movie. All part of the script, and it worked because tons of people, even golfers loved this movie.
Yeah right. Ive seen plenty do that. Just watch sergio garcias meltdown LOL

Loved this film as a movie goer and absolutely hated it as a golfer. And I don’t hate old people, kids or dogs 😂
One time fantasy for any athlete in any sport , especially if Jim Nance is calling it
My all time fave movie after bagga Vance.
Go one club longer.
Dan Campbell....Detroit Lions.....
Love how he's just spending money on every attempt. "Ooops, sorry Romeo. Oh shoot, sorry again...."
Caddy should of been a little more persuasive, take the drop, chip it up, putt it in and take the tournament to playoff

Great music by William
Ross
I don't know where that is but it's not Pinehurst # 2
Herd will always hate this...
Movie Filmed in Tubac Arizona
Fourth shot? Surely third??
7 iron with todays equipment 😂
"I never miss with the seven iron. It's the only truly safe club in my bag."
Greatest shot in the history of golf lol

It's a movie, take a break and feel good for something and somebody

Its a comedy not a documentary. 😅
Too bad you butchered the clip. Why bother showing it if you're going to chop it all to hell?
Not so !! Penalty Stroke - drop back 'as far as decided' OR old standard - drop a ball from where the Ball was played.!!
