I’m just curious if you Would be okay with God willing you to hell as a reprobate as He does to the non-elect? Or are you okay because you know you’re one of His elect ? Aren’t you appalled at the thought that God would Will people from eternity past to be dead in sins and then be cast to hell for a decision He made on their behalf? Why would anyone want such God? I think Satan would be a more preferable option, after all Satan is also a victim of His sovereignty..if Calvinism is true.

Yeah you’re wording that very well. I’d say that God has the ability to control anything and everything. However I do believe in our free will that we have, and that doesn’t override God‘s power but I see that God has respected our decision making even if it’s flawed significantly. However if we ask him and we have faith I have seen actions taken that were not explained except for Gods ultimate power.

Even though God is behind creation, that doesn't mean that God is behind everything that happens within creation.
Since God has given us free will, we are capable of being creators in our own right; including creating suffering for ourselves and others.
This particular misunderstanding, that God is causing our suffering and perhaps punishing us, is one of the most dangerous misunderstanding promoted by religious teachers; for how can we become free from suffering if we don't understand what's causing it?
As long as we believe that lie, we will blame God or others, or our circumstances for our suffering and not see that we are responsible for our suffering.
Our mistaken thinking, and the negative emotions and negative actions that flow from our thoughts causes our suffering.
Depending on what we choose to believe, and how we choose to respond to life; we create more Love in the world or the opposite.
When we choose to express the opposite of Love or cause harm, it is not God that is at fault.
God gifted us with the freedom to choose and to create, and we eventually learn from our choices to be better creators; to create happiness instead of suffering, and it is suffering that teaches us this; suffering points us away from what is anti-life, anti-Love.
Our own personal suffering is the so-called "punishment" we receive when we make choices that are not aligned with Love; that is the only "punishment" meted out by God.
We are designed to suffer whenever we miss the mark, which is the meaning of sin. The mark, the target or goal, is Love; we suffer whenever we fall out of alignment with Love.
Suffering and joy are part of the guidance system we've been given; the homing device, which when followed, will bring us back home to Love.
Suffering tells us that we are believing a lie or taking a wrong direction; while joy tells us the opposite.
If we don't want to suffer, then we must stop believing or doing what causes us and others suffering; and start believing and doing what brings peace, Love and joy.

The inclination to rebel is always present with us, and especially in times of severe and prolonged suffering, but the grace of God protects us from falling and somehow always pulls us back to Himself. It is a constant battle through out life, even among the most faithful. God's love for us will never fail us. Have faith in God. We can be sorrowful, yet always rejoicing in our Mighty God. The Lord Jesus will not lose any that has trusted in Him. Have faith in God.

I don't believe that God is in control of everything at all times as some denominations preach, at least not in my experience. We are basically free to do what we want, when we want, good or bad, in this world. For some reason, God chooses to intervene once in a while maybe, out of pity, out of love, to reveal himself, or to get things/people back ontrack on his master plan. A lot of people imagine that their most minor accomplishments were due to God.
Let's say a person decides to praise God because he got his college degree. Now is God responsible for this person getting a college degree ? Nope, it was the person who went to the college to enroll, paid the fees, paid for the classes, paid for the books, stayed up all night long studying for tests to finally earn that degree. God had nothing to do with this. The person did that themselves maybe with the help of their parents ! Same can be said about a lot of things in life. Is God in control of the neighborhood drunk, for his condition ? Nope, the neighborhood drunk decided to orient their life in that manner for one reason, or another and holds full, or partial responsibility.
God can't be held responsible. Now of course if the neighborhood drunk yells out to God and God decides to listen and help them, that's another story. If the neighborhood drunk miraculously becomes sober, then they have all the right to praise God and be thankfull. This is what is called "divine intervention", or Grace and is usually done out of pity, out of love, or because God wants to reveal himself through that person.
How come that 'god-hating' atheist on the hill is rich and that humble, god-loving, nice, pious guy in the valley is living in poverty ? Isn't God in control ? Nope, we are. God gave us dominion over our planet and our lives, therefore we are free to make our own decisions. The incident in the Mystical Garden of Eden further cemented that reality. Why does God intervene in the lives of some and not others ? Again out of pity, out of love, or because that person was chosen to steer things in the way God wants things to go and it's not always the way Man wants things to go.
Why doesn't God intervene for everybody ? You mean 8 Billion people ? One day a married couple decides to let their 2 boys and their friends go hicking in the nearby forest. The kids should have been back by sunset, but nobody knows where they are and it's getting dark. The frantic parents decide to rent a helicopter with heat-sensing technology to find the kids in the forrest. They eventually find the kids and take them back home, their 2 boys and the other kids. The kids are grateful and praise the couple for being rescued. The couple in this case, intervened out of pity, or out of love. It's clear the friends of the 2 boys also benefitted from this intervention by the parents of the 2 boys. Now were the parents responsible for the kids being lost ? Nope, the kids got lost by themselves for one reason or another, the parents had nothing to do with it, they were not let's say 'in full control'.
In most cases, it was YOU who hit that homerun, it was you who scored that touch down, it was you who purchased that Ferrari, or that home, it was you who got that promotion, so praise yourself ! Of course it doesn't mean that you didn't get a little help along the way. It doesn't mean that God 'incognito' didn't pull some strings behind the scenes to facilitate your success. This is why we should never be too proud of our so-called accomplishments, or to take all the credit...

If God is so utterly in control of everything we do, how could we call anything we do a sin? Isn't the very definition of a sin be the act of doing something outside the will of God? Because if it's not outside his will, then sinners are merely going through the motions. Making life meaningless and totally moot.

Exactly. If God controlled everything then our love for Him would be meaningless. God made us images of Him, meaning that He also gave us free will. Without our own power, we wouldn't be able to Do anything and He constantly says in the Bible to Do Good. God gave us the power we have but now the power is ours to do our will with. I went on a date 2 weeks ago and thought, this date is going well, thank God, its all God and none of me, and then all my confidence was lost bc I stopped listening and the date was destroyed. This proves that we have our OWN power and that we must use it. God says to Be strong Like Men, not weak passive pushovers that wait on God to give us our supper instead of working for it. We dont know how God works, but what we do know is that it is our responsibility to use the power He gave us to make sure we Dont Waste Our Lives.

It's funny we ask what kind of world we would like better? All that matters is the truth. God works all according to his own will. Very simple he is the potter who tells the end from the beginning. It's already done. Yes he is that big. From trees too people too animals so much detail too every hair on every head. Yes everything was already created and the world is just waiting for his plan too come too the end. It's already done. Relax your in good hands. He wills all to be saved. He does all his will. He will be all in all. We will all be one with god in the end. Each in their age. If anything that ever happened wasn't God's will? He would be a failure. That he is not. God does not sin. All is working for good. The cool part is he does it in such a way man has no idea they are under God's control all the time. This is all for us. It's all going too be for him when all come into the knowledge of the truth and we all love god and all. Good and evil are both from God for good. Contrast is everything. It mite look bad sometimes but how awesome it will be when god is finished controlling all and has brought all into love and there is no need too rule anymore because we are all one. He 8s so perfect we will all be good and not need rule because it will be in all of us and there will be no need for it anymore because god accomplished everything perfect too the point there is no need too reign over us anymore.

The fundamental issue in question is my Catholicism vs your Protestantism. Since ya'll are about the bible I will direct you to some verses. Romans 1:20, Deut 30:19, James 1:13, Gal 2:17. The last vs is Sirach 15:14. (And yes the book of Sirach was removed from the bible by your protestants after 15 centuries of legitimacy.) Sir 15:14 "When God in the beginning created man he made him in the subject of his own free will."
Finally, if in fact, we have no free will, then not even absolute love of us is required by God to sacrifice his son for our salvation; at which point "by faith alone" is irrelevant since we are all predestined to either believe or not. It is precisely because we have free will that our Father sacrificed his only son. But faith in Jesus alone isn't sufficient for salvation. Faith in itself is a verb and requires action... good works are in fact required. Otherwise, Hitler can full well believe in Christ, yet still, be saved.

    • @seant.2387
      @seant.2387 Před 4 lety +2

I think it's important to strive for perfection through Jesus Christ; however, we fall short of the glory of God and need to realize that at the end of the day, Jesus is the only one who can save us. We need to try to be Holy by repenting (choosing to be obedient to God instead of choosing to take pleasure in our sinful desires), and trusting that Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection was enough for our sins to be forgiven.
For example, if I was an atheist on my death bed, and I sincerely apologized to God for my sins and asked for Jesus to be my Lord and Savior, I know that I would be forgiven by God through Jesus Christ without works. "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." God would not turn you away if you decide in your heart and truly believe that He is more valuable than your own sinful desires, and that God can forgive those sins because of what Jesus did for all of us.
However, if I was healthy and did the same thing, I would start desiring to do good works because I love and delight in the Lord our God, as well as my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. "Delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart."
I also want to make sure everyone knows that Jesus loved sinners, but He did not encourage them to sin nor was He okay with people sinning. You can't be sexual immoral (LQBTG, adultery, porn, etc.), or a murderer, a thief, a liar, etc, and expect Jesus to be okay with that. Don't justify your sin by creating a fake god that is okay with the above sins.

At the end, Piper says "what kind of world would you rather live in, one where God controls everything or one where things can happen apart from God's determinations?" How convenient that Piper's theology is the one that's most comforting to him. After that, the other guy says "the alternatives are not comforting." This should be about truth, not what's comforting. If God is the one controlling every detail of everything that happens, that's certainly a comforting world. In fact, it sounds like heaven. But that's certainly not what we see. There is real evil in the world and there are many people going to hell. If God was controlling every detail of everything that ever happens then we should be experiencing a very different world. God gave us free will which is why bad things happen, and it's on this basis that people are going to hell and it's why Jesus had to come to clean up our mess. Jesus didnt come to clean up His own mess. We freely choose sin, and are therefore accountable. God doesn't determine our sin. Just because God is omniscient and knows everything that will ever happen, that doesn't mean He determines everything that happens. Just because God gave us free will doesnt mean He is not sovereign. We have free will precisely *because* God is sovereign, and if God cannot give free will and be sovereign at the same time, He is not truly sovereign!

God can still work all things according to his will, in spite of those acting with free will trying to thwart his will, and also using the free actions of men to accomplish his will. I see no reason to conclude that because God works everything to his will, that he controls all things. God says he wants certain things, and then he allows human beings the opportunity* to act otherwise (a thing he doesn't want) and obviously punishes them for it, and his purposes are ultimately fulfilled. To those who will quickly say “but what about the suffering in the world and those born with illnesses, sick, disabled, etc” any bad thing they can name.
The Lord himself says “the Earth is a spiritual purification ground, you DO NOT KNOW HOW MANY LIVES your spirit has lived and karma, being a spiritual law, although NOT taught in the Bible is implied by Jesus as in “to enter the kingdom you will HAVE TO BE BORN AGAIN”, he meant that twofold, as in reincarnation of the spirit, because you’re not only born once, the spirit continues along a ladder of evolution so many are atoning for their past mistakes NOW and then those who are IGNORANT (ignorance is also innocence to God, UNLESS you are aware of things you do and pretend to be blameless) are the ones that say that it’s not biblical, when in reality it is.
The truth is, God has always been good, simply put, and since the Tribulation hasn’t even started yet, we still have so much left to come, Two Suns, the crossing of planet 9, three days of darkness during its transit (close your doors and windows during this time), major wars, invasions, demonic plagues, major quakes, the list goes on and on and on and men will still blame God for all of this when the final truth is as he said “You all hold a piece of my spirit within you, if you only KNEW of your light, how to have charity with one another and live in harmony, you would not have to endure the bitter chalice which you YOURSELVES attract” (referencing the power of your own mind and karma again).
Humanity has been fallen ever since the start, but I know the time is short, it’s been “short” for a long while now, but we’re THIS close, everyone should be prepared, because Jesus isn’t coming back, he gave this time around to someone else coming IN PLACE OF, him.
The Antichrist as Christians will call him, was given ALL POWER by God himself, lest you understand the ramifications of this you too will see him as “Satan”, and for many he SHALL BE, but to God, he is the ELECT ONE WHO WAS HIDDEN since the beginning of the world as recorded in the book of Enoch, the Comforter who comes to bring Jesus in REMEMBRANCE of him, the Son of Man.
Jesus was the Son of God.
He is OF the Seven yet is ALSO the Eighth and final King.
The Seven are the Seven Spirits of God who are now in the Earth, they represent the Seven Seals and we are awaiting the opening OF the final one.
The Sixth was already opened in 1866 as God revealed unto Man in and around Mexico during his time of manifestations which were recorded from 1866 to 1950.
It’s been a long time since those events.
We are closer than EVER to the last stage.
    His peace be with you.

There is no forgiveness in karma, therefore it is false.
I have sinned , I deserve the wrath of God and the judgement of eternal separation from the presence of God (hell).
Yet in His mercy , the Son of God took God's wrath for my sins upon Himself on the cross. In exchange, I receive His righteousness by faith.

I don't believe God is in complete control over humans because if you take it back to the first humans he didn't control them not to sin, is clear that God wasn't controlling them. Now he is either really patience with us, or this is all part of his plan, or the bible is not the truth and is a made-up story to cover the truth of our origins

You limit God. God created Lucifer in Heaven. He knew when he created him that he was going to rise against him. He knew he was going to be cast out of heaven. God knew before he created Adam and Eve they were going to eat from the tree. He created that tree for that purpose.
God predestined us before the foundations of the world. God created the adversary. It’s hard for your human mind to understand. But God is sovereign and his thoughts are not our thoughts. His ways are not our ways.
He creates a vessel for honor and one for dishonor.
God allowed Satan to sift Job like wheat. Why? Because God knew Job would not turn his back on him.
Everything is for the glory of God.
      So much to it all.

The meaning of life is God, we were made for God, we were made in His image. We were made to have a relationship with God. See, God designed our world so that everything would exist in perfect harmony. He made humankind in His image, so that we had the capacity to worship Him and walk with Him. Because God created you, He loves you. You exist to glorify Him in a real relationship.Mankind has rebelled against God, choosing to live for ourselves instead of for Him. This rebellion, called sin, has come between us and God. This sin brings about brokenness in our personal lives, our relationships, and also our world. Not only has it separated us from Him and His perfect design, it also brings judgment and death.Because God loves us, He sent His only son Jesus to rescue us from our sins. The Bible says that “God shows his love for us in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross as payment for our sins, was buried, and rose again from the dead. His resurrection proves that God has accepted Jesus’ sacrifice for our sins. Believe in Him and the Holy Spirit will come in and lead you to go to Jesus in faith and trust in Him and trust in Him for salvation and repent of your sins and He will hear from Heaven and forgive you of your sins and cleanse you by His precious blood and the Holy Spirit will make you born again and you'll be saved from all sin and from death and from the enemy and from the wrath of God that's against sin. (Romans 5,6,7,8, John 3:16, 1 John 1:9). I'll be praying for you to come to know the true God of all and experience His true love and Holy Spirit and salvation and i pray you'll go to Him and get saved Amen in Jesus name
