Christian Eriksen opened the scoring in the seventh minute when Nicolai Jorgensen laid off a well-placed pass for the Tottenham Hotspur star to beyond Socceroos keeper Mat Ryan.
However a Yussuf Poulsen handball inside the Danish area - following a VAR review - presented Australia the break they need. Mile Jedinak converted the resulting penalty and a yellow card for Poulsen means he will miss Denmark's next match.

Denmark actually looked terrible in compare with the qualifiers and the last friendly against Mexico, little to nothing from Eriksen besides the goal, and Sisto running circles around himself just to lose the ball and slowing down the pace of the Danish attack ... only keeper and defense looked good in this match for Denmark ...

Its a shame these highlights are so short.. It doesn't show that Australia were attacking very hard for the last 30 -40 minutes, had many opportunities and Denmark didn't really do much at all. A good game in the end, and Australia are still alive in the tournament!

That is NEVER a penalty: "the position of the hand does not necessarily mean there is an offence" - FIFA world cup rule book. And then to book Poulsen adds insult to injury.
Meanwhile Denmark were robbed of a penalty on Cornelius. Not to say a draw is a fair result, but the referee really performed badly. He also robbed Australia of a clear free-kick in the late stages of the game.

People talking about how Australia only scored off of a penalty should probably watch that section of the game. The commentator said it well that they're a team who plays with tempo not by being exceptionally skilled. In that section of the match Australia continually pushed to get many opportunities and this resulted in a penalty going their way. Few things in football are truly lucky, and I'd say that the Australians earned that goal with fast paced play that forced Denmark to play on the back foot.

the Ref called advantage and Denmark got a shot out of it, also wasn't the challenge outside the box and the players then fell into the box? either way Australia actually looked like the better team for the whole of the 2nd half. and VAR hasn't just benefited Australia, if you just remember back to the France Vs Australia game, France got a penalty from VAR that the ref actually called as fair, and the VAR referee later said that the Aus player actually got a touch on the ball first and then said he lifted his leg and tripped the French player when in fact if you watch it again he never lifted his leg at all.

Thomas Sorensen the penalty Peru got are hard to judge and there for should not have been called, as VAR should only be used when there are clearly a fault, and the 2nd one should never ever have been called, the VAR room must have been on drugs or been bribed, same goes for the referee as he changed the decision after watching the video.
