Big G is criminally underrated. For some reason his name is only mentioned when he makes a mistake because as Arsenal fans we've been somewhat conditioned to find a scapegoat whenever there's a slip up.
Agreed, think he easily makes the top10 cbs this season but as you say, everyone only associates him with mistakes, which are becoming more rare by the day

I think despite his few mistakes, he’s the most focused player of the starting 11 for 90 minutes. He’s intense and focused for 90 minutes every single game. He never switch off. The only other player that does that I think of the starting 11 is Martinelli, but not off the ball

Definitely agree. I love him - he has that fire burning in him. And yes that will result in a few mistakes now and then, but compared to how much good he does he is easily one of the top CBs in PL.
But it's like some Arsenal "fans" and the media are just looking for mistakes, instead of looking at the full picture.

For me, most underrated CB in PL. Saliba is better in short passes and more calm, but Gabriel is better in the air, has great long passes and is better in tackles
Gabriel passing is so much better
His calmness and composure have really improved a lot. At the start of the season he seemed a bit jittery sometimes. But after his error in the Fulham game, he has improved. He is also very good in short and long passes. I will say that he is Arsenal's most improved player this season.

Said it once and I’ll say it again. One of if not the best CB in the league in the air. Very dangerous from set pieces in the air, defends like an ox and his positioning has looked extremely sharp.

Playing CB in a line this high is really really hard. Yo have to be laser focused for 90 minutes or you'll pay. The fact we have two guys who arent even close to their prime holding it down is so exciting.Yes they make mistakes but we play a suicide line. This team has endless potential man.

i agree, and i agree with the suicide line. In some match it was obvious (liverpool, tottenham). As you say the more exciting thing about this team is that they are far from their peak. So what looked to be a gamble last season (Martinelli, Saka, Odegaard, Ben White, young players, now Saliba) will look like the project of the decade. I think we will get closer to see some big things in maybe 2, 3 years (even if they get the titles during that period. When all players will be more mature and get so used to be together that they find each other with closed eyes..

I am always a fan of our two centre backs. Since the time that Saliba played in Masseille on loan, I have always had trust in him and maghalles was simply the better guy in his partnership with White. And now we have all the three in our defence. EPL better gives us our trophy this season. We have beasts at the back, beasts in the midfield and beasts upfront. Generally, I like the attitude of our players both in the starting eleven and those on the bench. This EPL is ours to lose

Too emotional when playing at the Emirates, look at City's 2nd goal (Grealish) however he's one of our best players away from home.
Panics too much for my liking, he has to look confident and calm on the ball when he gets it. Also too
many risky passes to the midfield even when the team is not in shape which exposes us to counter attacks if the reciever of the ball loses it in a tightly contested duel. Not suited for big games in my opinions.
