    I soak my seeds/grains in apple cider vinegar with the mother in place of the GSE as it's just as good but easier to get hold of! Great video 😊💙

      Thank you! I do love using ACV, but found it doesn’t speed up the process quite the same. I’m not sure how it all works 😂 but ACV is a fantastic thing to have

    Thank you for making this super informative video! I just recently learned about sprouting and this video is incredibly easy-to-follow and I appreciate the different points that you have shared especially utilizing an antibacterial agent and potential toxic seeds. Can't wait to make it for my flock :)

    Thank you for this video, it is so helpful. I'm really grateful that you mentioned that some seeds can be toxic when sprouted, I didn't know this and it's so important to know.

    Are milo / dari seeds in budgie seed mix as well? I through the packet away when I put it in the storage box. I do only give the seeds as a treat but if soaking / sprouting is healthier for them I want to give it go. (I will probably just buy new, definitely safe, seeds just in case but just wondered.) thanks 😊

    great video, normally i sprout seeds but the grape fruit seed extract seems like a great idea! i just had a question in one of your older videos you mentioned a rice pudding that you make and give to your birds i was just wondering how you made it? thanks for taking the time to make these wonderful and educational videos!

      Thank you!
      It’s really easy. Just either buy a vegan milk, or make one yourself (super easy to do). Then boiled the milk and add a little rice. You can top it off with water or keep adding milk until it is fully absorbed and sticky. Our birds go nuts for it ☺️

      What types of seeds do you suggest for a cockatiel?
      Or is there a seed mix you suggest?

    Thank you so much for that! I was interested in sprouting, bought a very fancy, very expensive seed mix and the first time I did it, I got it so wrong and it got mouldy. Now I know how to do it properly, I'll try again. Do all your birds enjoy sprouted seeds?

    • @SoaringWingsFlock
      @SoaringWingsFlock  Před 3 lety +1

      No problem at all!
      Don’t worry, the very first time we sprouted the same happened to us! It’s disheartening at first
      At first, no. They were very confused. But now they are all over them! They love them most when they’ve just been soaked/sprouted for a day. Once they grow longer tails they get pickier 😂

      @@SoaringWingsFlock that's great that they've gotten used to it. Did you do anything specific to encourage them to eat sprouted or soaked seeds? I have a very fussy bird who will eat almost anything that's bad for her but refuses to eat anything that I actually need her to eat and would welcome any ideas because I feel like I've tried everything 😆
      I have already ordered the grapefruit extract and proper sprouting jar - I am determined to make it work 😊

    • @SoaringWingsFlock
      @SoaringWingsFlock  Před 3 lety +1

      @@carterpalace9435 initially I just soaked the seeds because it already makes them more mushy. If your bird is being fussy with soaked seeds you can mix some dried seeds through with them in the food bowl ☺️ it may take a little bit, but your birdie will take to them!
