    Hi, is it possible to dye the polycrystalline silicone and cut it like a mono so it can be sold as a monocrystalline pv?
    In my country, the prices are the same, whether you want a poly or a mono of the same wattage, I don't get how that's possible considering the mono pv production seems to cost more. On some mono pv, some cells seem darker than others on some panels, is that normal or they just dye some to confuse buyers?

      No, it's not possible to add dye to a solar cell. In order for a cell to operate at its top efficiency, you need it to be as pure as possible. Adding dye would reduce the cells efficiency or make it non-functional, depending on what you added to it. Poly cell s are less expensive to produce, but when you buy a panel, you are really considering cost per watt, not cost per panel. Mono cells are more efficient, so the cost per watt between the two technologies is the same, or slightly better for mono.
