Oh thanks man!
This video is amazing. We did the Southern Coast Line last time and are planning going for 10 days next summer, you ticked off half the stuff we were going to do...but also suggested some things we didn't know about it
Awesome! Yer gonna love it!
Awesome video feeling like to visit Iceland now only😃👌
Go for it!
Absolutely breathtaking! It's one of those places I've always wanted to visit. Trevor, beautiful footage... you did it justice 😍
I like the map indication with all spot you mentioned simple and clear , definitely good for travel itinerary plan when travel Iceland . Thank you for sharing
Hey Wenyi! Really appreciate the comment. Had to recently teach myself how to do the map thing and I was hoping it would be helpful!
Great video! I really enjoyed it and your pictures and videos were amazing! Did you have any issues flying your drone at the other locations besides gulfoss? Just wondering since I’m planning to bring one as well. Thanks!
Yes! You can't fly in national parks - so that's a big chunk, as in, the big glacier and Thingviller National Park. I asked for permission online to fly at Diamond Beach, but was denied becuase of the seaons for birds breeding or something. I could have flown in a lot of other places, however. There's usually a sign if drones aren't permitted. Where it's NOT permitted is usually to protect wildlife. It is worth bringing a drone, for sure, just be mindful of the signs.
OMG that's been on my bucket list for way too long! Trevor you did it Epic job of capturing the beauty, saying the words lol just a stunning epic beautiful tour you took us on. And I love you guys for it. Probably the closest I'll ever get to Iceland unfortunately health problems. But really wonderful.. I hope you have a couple more to come?. I must have missed were you announced you were going to Iceland.. Thanks again so very much! Safe and happy travels to you both✌😘
Thanks you Sue! I’m working on the vlog/ #vanlife version now. About a week till it’s up. Then we might do a “how to camp in Iceland” video since it’s different than the US. Wishing you better health!
this is amazing thank you
Appreciate the kind words Sara!
It’s really worth visiting this country. I visited in June. Absolutely breathtaking.
That’s when we were there. Did you travel in a van ? What was your favorite spot ?
we booked Airbnb during our stay in the southern region and rented a car for a week. All the attractions in Iceland are wonderful but I loved skogafoss waterfall the most. I will definitely go back to Iceland to experience the northern region next time 😍
Nice
Thanks George! Ever been?
@@LyfeUntethered no but my brother did in winter and my girlfriend went with family for the big drive round in summer. I got a bit of the feel.
Hello Lyfe thanks for the beautiful presentation hitting all the epic places in Iceland.Did you stop in Vic? Why did you not cover Arkurery?Did you visit any islands? Just would like to know because I am going in Dec.thanks .Happy travelling.
We did visit VIK it’s the place with the bus coffee shop ! I loved that place !!! You can access . We packed tons tons in to 10 days ! We were there in June - just off the winter season. The highlands require 4x4 we traveled in a van.
Greetings from Hagen & Melanie from Germany! We found ourselves in your video when we met in Nature Bath in Myvatn. Your video is a pleasure, we really love it! If you want to continue our talk regarding traveling in Vietnam and Cambodia and South East Asia in general pls feel free to reach out to me or Melanie :)
Hagen & Melanie! I so hope we get to run into you on our travels again! It was so nice meeting you! And we'll hit you up if we try those countries! 🤙🏼
What time of the year was this? We are going the end of May/early June. I am unbelievably excited!!
Early June. You’ll love it!
Great tips in this video, thank you! I have a question, where exactly did you rent your campervan? And are you able to rent snorkeling gear at Silfra on the spot? If so, how much does that cost?
This is one of the well detailed videos i’ve seen about Iceland. What month did you guy go? And thanks for sharing this beautiful experience
Appreciate it @Brahim. We went early June.
What time of the year was your trip. (I know some videos get delayed before they get uploaded)
I ❤ your videos. Thanks. Ben, South Fla.
Hey Ben! June 3-13, 2022. Took a minute to edit! Thanks!
@@LyfeUntethered great! That is time we are going to visit Iceland this year. We I’ll be there June 4 to 17. Very interested horseback riding. Do we need to book ahead of time?
@@sophyyang8431 They were pretty available, so I think you'll be ok if you just call a day or 2 before. HIghly recommend LANGHÚS HORSE FARM! Tell Lukka Trevor and Leila say hi!
@@LyfeUntethered thank you.
What an amazing video, I’m planning on a trip next year, 2023 .
What month of the year did you go ? I’m trying to avoid the with crowds, but don’t want to go when is to clod or wet , which month would you say is the best .
Thank you so much for your help 🙏
We went early June. It was kind of perfect, not too crowded, moderate weather, kind of the beginning of the "season". Plus, because it literally never got dark, we could hit most spots any time of day or night and avoid crowds altogether. One catch is that you won't see northern lights in June. That's a winter thing. It's the only time we've ever been, so I can't say if it's the best time or not. Iceland IS expensive, so it's gonna be cheaper in the winter... But also ❄❄! Thanks!
The voice in this video is great! Did you hire to have the voice narration or is it from the channel owner?
That’s me José. I did voice over in my last life. You can see some of it on my old channel, Trevor Jones Voiceover. Thanks!
👌
Hi I came acrossed your video by accident. The footage is amazing! What month did you guys go, and when is it the best time to go?
We went early June, just before the crowds. It’s warmer in summer, but more crowded. In winter it’s dark matter ch of the day but you can see the northern light. Way less crowded I’m sure. When we went was perfect for us. It all depends on what you want to see and do.
Hi amazing video ❤
I have a trip to Iceland in a few months, and I wanted to ask if you need a permit in those places you recorded with the drone or can you normally launch the drone and fly? can't find a map anywhere where it is allowed and where not, did you use any application to check the zone? I will be grateful for a hint
it's not allowed in national parks, but other places I had no trouble. I think you can get permits in some national parks, but they can deny based on season/animals.
@@LyfeUntethered ok thanks for the information, yes I knew that you can buy a permit for an additional fee of 300 €
Those are the smallest rainbows I've ever seen.
They are pretty tiny!
Bear in mind that all these complicated Icelandic place names are just German-style compound words. A name like Eyjafjallajökull is easier when broken down into it's components; Eyja-Fjalla-Jökull. The literal meaning reflects the fact that it is a glacier (jökull) sitting atop a series of mountains (fjalla), seen from the Vest-manna-eyjar (Eyjar = Islands, i.e. Westman Islands) - the alternative being that the Vest-manna-eyjar can be seen from this glacier.
Jökulsárlón, broken down, is Jökuls-ár-lón, i.e. Glacer-River-Lagoon. Simple, right?
If you are raised with the oldest known Norwegian dialect (Old Norse) as your native language (also called Icelandic) this becomes as natural as breathing...
Makes sense! Thanks!
Now tell that to TV news presenters!!
May I know which Month is this ?
And did you not get to see Northern lights?
Early June. Nope, too much light for northern lights. You have to choose.. we had better weather, but no northern lights...

9:28 that has to be the one from Promtheus. Am I right?
Which time of the year did you visit?
Early June.
Very beautiful photography. But "Seljalandsfoss" does not mean "selling the land of waterfalls". The word "sel" is a cognate of "shieling" which means "collection of huts on a seasonal pasture". "Seljaland" is then the name of the area around the waterfall, which probably used to contain a lot of shielings (literally: "land of shielings") and Seljalandsfoss therefore means waterfall in the land of shielings.
Thanks! Google failed me 😂! The true meaning is much more interesting. How bad was my pronunciation of all the Icelandic words?
@@LyfeUntethered A well kept secret is that every Icelander takes such pleasure from foreigners attempting to pronounce icelandic words (no matter the pronounciation), that you never have to feel guilty about it. But I was generally impressed by the pronunciation (especially 'Seljavallalaug' and 'Skógarfoss'). It might be of interest to you that 'Seljavallalaug' and 'Seljalandsfoss' are more closely related in meaning than you might suspect. The 'sel' in both is a cognate of the old English 'shieling', and 'land' is simply land in English, but 'valla' in 'Seljavallalaug' is the genitive of the word 'vellir' which means roughly 'flatlands'. So, Seljalandsfoss really means 'waterfall in the land of shielings' and 'Seljavallalaug' means 'bathing pool in the land of shielings'. The word 'laug' means bathing pool and the icelandic word for Saturday is 'Laugardagur', literally day of going to the bathing pool = clean up day before Sunday; the day of rest.
I have to add that the interviews with the woman who told the story of Hrunalaug and the guy talking about Grettislaug was really special. It got to the history of the places your were depicting. I had some very personal moments, since my grandmother was born on a farm close to Grafarkirkja and as a youngster (about 11 yrs old) I helped deliver lambs in the springtime on the meadows just where the beer spa is now. At that time (in the early 1980s) beer was prohibited by law. It was first made legal in 1986. Thank you!
@@rognvalduringthorsson7727 Oh wow! I got goosebumps reading your story! Thank you for sharing!
@@rognvalduringthorsson7727 thank you for the extended explanation!! Thank you for the kind words Trevor genuinely had a way with language! Loved loved loved Iceland ❤️💫. Leila
Can I fly my small drone?
It most places you can, but not in national parks.
@@LyfeUntethered thank you

Hidden gems? It is mostly all the usual stuff, so hidden is click bait - great dislike from mee
I hope the rest of your year goes better friend!
@@TrevorJonescreator thanks. I was just very disappointed as I was searching for the hidden gems, that not so many visit, not the things that you read and hear about in ordinary tourist information. There are so many other places to visit on Iceland, and I'm planning our next trip to we avoid those overcrowded places and go for the real hidden gems. Stay safe.
