- Just realized Montana has actually spent a staggering 7 years in WoWS, and it's still a credible threat at T10. Not a monster that stands out among the power creep, but still 12 406mm guns that can ruin your day.

I believe that would be 3 tiers higher but still Montana is to me anyway an North Carolina on steroids meaning a lot more hp

For all the ways in which Montana is not the best T10 BB...I've often found it to be one of the most reliable/consistent ships of any class.

Montana feels good. Other ships, you have to guess, but Montana always feels right. I always know what I'm about to get in a few minutes when I'm in my Monty.
Well, if you disregard overmatch, the guns are still great, so it's not that surprising for random battles at least.
man i still remember a ranked match i played in my monty years ago, 3 broadsides at an enemy monty from like 12 km. over a dozen hits... no citadels =((( i was shooting over islands, but still, i was usually really good at guesstimating. ended up losing that match and quitting ranked after that. monty reliabililty failed me then.
Even today Montana is still one of my
favorite BBs. A great combination of Speed, Stealth, and Survivability. And she still is one of the best at punishing broadsides.

This had everything needed to be an excellent video. 200k+ damage, Kraken, Confederate, High Caliber, Powercrept ship still able to perform, and Malta to allow for div achievements. Perfect.
Hearing Flamu and Maltese interact has to be the most interesting thing of all time

I so knew this was going up. Great game
Spotter plane is so underrated as a consumable and the Montana is so good with it. Being able to peek over and around islands to lob shells onto unsuspecting enemies is just such a huge advantage compared to other BB’s. Plus it’s very accurate and once you get used to the shell travel time, you’ll be hitting a lot of rounds on target. A marksman’s dream.

Seems like there is 2 schools of thought on the Montana. Either she's a good BB with punishing guns and good accuracy or she's a bad BB that breaks too easily and guns can't penetrate for anything.

I really didn't know that you can change the settings of the minimap... Flamu should you ever do a 'noob's guide' I'm sure there'd be much interest. Adjusted the minimap, subscribed, following now I expect to be a better player xDD

I'll give a serious answer straight away: it's GK, for sure:
She have worse secondaries than Schliffen, worse guns than literally everything, worse handling than some carriers, she's spotted from Mars and are exceptionally vulnerable to fire.
While she does have good armour, that is only so relevant against fire. She is really easy to set ablaze and her high HP pool makes her burn through a lot of health in short order.
While her armour is good, and even if she's nigh impossible to citadel: a broadside is still a broadside, so don't give them one. A good rule of thumb in general for those who wants to stay afloat for more than 5 minutes. ^_^
She is still really fun to play, and one of my favourite tier X's, and I really like the GK with a full tank build + reload mod on the 406's.
But my preferences for the ship doesn't make her a good ship.

Personally, I feel like the Montana needs some sort of added love. I like that’s it’s the versatile BB but it definitely lacks presence in the battle if it can’t find broadsides. I suggest either an added radar consumable, a dispersion buff, less speed lost during shell flight time, or rudder shift decrease. Not all ofc, just 1 slight buff.
i wonder if improving the shell flight speed would be the buff it needs to be good
I think all she needs is a midsection armor buff, and more importantly rudder shift.

I actually prefer Monty over Yamato for consistency, AA and improved American heal and that long lasting DCP.
When someone asks about armor and you know the armor is terrible you just need to say standard bad, and they’ll know what you mean

I've been playing this game for 7 years and my opinion is that nothing is consistent. My god, I've never hated video game developers so much.
It's a very consistent game in terms of being inconsistent lol. MM alone is compete garbage
If you aren’t able to do well with Monty, you either aren’t very good at the game or just don’t understand the BB play style. It is such an incredibly consistent ship, if you angle it can still brawl and has such a heavy broadside. If you know how to aim, you can do incredibly well.

Its funny how streamers & CC's get great teams and beautifully strange RNG. Almost like someone at WG is making sure they do well in games. I see it all the time with these guys.
Couldn't be any more true. My team is consistently 2%+ less win rate and the red team gets super unicum divs 2 tiers above lol my teammates are of no better term than useless even on a side that outnumbers the enemy team

I absolutely hate Montana. The only good thing about the ship is it has 12 guns and nothing more. Slow shell velocity, low pen, bad armor layout, trash maneuverability, mediocre visibility, meaningless AA.
