It’s truly heartbreaking, my bestie passed away from cancer and left 4 little ones behind, she was 36🥺 I lost my own father last Christmas Eve to cancer and I was 44, he was my bestest friend It never gets any easier I feel this young man’s pain😢
I was here in person, everyone in the crowd was either crying or just absolute screaming their lungs out. What a moment I will never forget. RIP Taylor Hawkins
I absolutely adore how the band changed pace as Shane did to keep the flow and Grohl looked back and gave him the queues he needed to hit his marks and get back on time. That was incredible. That kid is going to be an absolute legend on drums some day.
When was it? Did not see that happening, even watched for a second time to check. He played fine, the version was a bit different and I'm pretty sure Grohl's looks was simply him enjoying the moment watching the kid rock.
He didn't just play the drums, he exorcised his entire soul out. I saw the live stream of this as it happened. Emotional doesn't even come close to describing it.
I agree, I know Dave personally being his neighbor and one thing he's most proud of is his family, friends and bandmates. Took courage for Shane to get behind the drums where his dad sat for 25 years and play My Hero in F ing Wembley! Total pride on Dave's face. He will definitely look after Shane and make sure this young man cause that's what Dave does. He is a genuine straight up family guy! RIP Taylor and Dave my heart goes out to you, Nate, Chris, pat, rami and all those connected to foo fighters. My wife, daughters and myself are praying for you all and listening to your music a lot right now. Love you my friend❤️🙏
Idc who you are, this is undeniably one of the best moments in recent rock history....flawlessly performed and at the same time, tugs at the ol' heartstrings

I can't imagine the courage that he had to get up in front of all these people, maintain his composure and play this song in front of thousands of people, in tribute to an incredible artist and genuinely amazing human being, his father........RIP Taylor.
My feelings as well...the heart and soul in this child shined at this very moment. I feel privileged to be able to see it...literally a spiritual moment.
I was just thinking. Taylor clearly left a super capable drummer to play in his stead. Kids got talent, now just needs to build up his dads unbelievable stamina.
What a surreal and heartwrenching moment. Not only is the kid amazing, but to lose your dad and play with his band, knowing that everyone in the band is glancing back and literally looking at the soul of their bandmate being there in the form of his child..... what a trippy thing. This made me well up a bit. Incredibly moving. That kid is freaking awesome!!!!
At 3:53 when Dave gradually builds up to the bridge was absolute perfection. He didn’t think Shane would be able to move so quickly but the kid proved him wrong.
His nickname should be "Animal", after the drummer on the Muppetts. He plays with such fierce, wild abandon, like Bonham and Moon put together. Totally exhausted with a minute to go, but he pushed through the pain like a champ. Dear lord, what an epic, once in a lifetime performance. Glad it was posted so fans everywhere can enjoy it. Again. And again. And again. Matter of fact, I'ma watch it right now.
I just feel the way He's drumming is similiar with Dave Grohl itself than his father. And he said at the end of the show he took the triplet fill from Dave. Crazy talent 🙌
I cannot get past how much love that is in Dave’s face at the end of the song. The amount of pain that all of Taylor’s family and friends are feeling but they still love each other.
Not a Foo lover or hater, but that was unreal. Great song, and Taylor’s son absolutely crushing it! And Dave, being the good dude he always seems to be, letting the kid take the spotlight. Wow
I have to admit that while I love My Hero as a song I've never really resonated with it, I've never had anyone in my life that I could look to in that way. After watching this I know now what it means to me, it means I need to be that person for my son, I need to be the father for him that I never had.

This is one of the most intense and emotional performance I've seen in years, it's so sincere... Dave is a legend, I'm really sad that he lost Kurt and now Taylor 😔. Shane is already a beast on the drums, it's so intense, he is like a combination of my favourite drummers of all time already... Stay strong kid, i'm so sorry for your loss and for your family. Music saved my life for sure and seeing all these guys on stage from Nirvana to The Foo Fighters means a lot to me, it's so powerful, honest, it's for real, you can't fake it... massive respect love you all🤘

The chills that run up and down my spine and the tears in my eyes...He is definitely channeling his dad.
I can now honestly say, this kid is one of my favorite drummers. Can't wait to see his career
I literally cry every time I watch either performance from the tribute shows. I can't begin to imagine how hard this had to be on Shane I'd wouldn't have been able to do it without falling apart
🥺💙
What a great person Dave is to his fans and his friends. He can play drums like he used to for Nirvana and sing for the foo fighters.
Well played as Taylor's son, Shane, joined The Foo Fighters on stage. You can see the heart and soul that he put on the kit for this song
he hits so hard like his old man❤
Legend in the making 💙
This is so heartbreaking and beautiful. You can see those moments where Dave is so proud of Shane too as he totally kills it.
