  • Finally got a chance to fix the sawmill and put it back to work again. My Woodland Mills HM126 band wheel had come out of alignment and was causing the blade/band to keep popping off every time it engaged. In this video I fix it, and finally get back to milling more pine logs into 2x6s from Bear Ridge logs.
Specific equipment shown in this video:
    - Woodland Mills HM126 14hp personal sawmill
    - Branson 2515h Compact Tractor
    - ETA-SLRG-54 54" Single Lid Wicked Root Grapple by Everything Attachments

Thanks so much for the kind words. I've been a bit burnt-out lately and wondering if I should even keep doing these videos. It's a big commitment and I just don't feel like my channel is ever going to take off without a beautiful woman in the thumbnails. So thanks for the encouragement when I needed it. And thanks for watching.

Good work! Getting ready to pull the trigger on the 126. Do you have the 9 or 14hp and would you recommend it?

Thanks. I have the 14hp, and would definitely opt for it every time. I've had several logs that required me to slow down. Don't know how 9hp could get through them.

I have 15 hours on mine and I can't keep a blade on for longer than 25 min (destroyed 10 or so so far). I took the follower wheel of as well but all the bolts were tight- can you really adjust something there by maybe losen e.g. the bottom ones? We noticed that once you put tension on the blade, the wheel gets fairly solid. Had a friend there yesterday and we made some adjustments again and after 15 min or so we destroyed another blade. I am in contact with woodland mills and they have no field technician. How we should solve that over the phone is kind of a mystery to me.. my logs needs to be milled asap...

I'm so sorry you're having such a problem with your saw. It's been a while since I did this, but I'm pretty sure all 4 allen screws adjusted. Not the hex bolts, but the allen screws. But you should only need to adjust two screws, depending on what side is off center. As you saw in my video, I measured distance from top, bottom, left side, right side of the wheel to the housing to figure out which direction the band was sliding off. For example if the top was a 3mm closer than the left and right side, and the bottom 3mm further, then I would try adjusting the top two screws a quarter turn each then put the wheel back on and measure it again. I'd repeat until I get the top, slides, and bottom as close as I can to one another. Hope that helps, but I may not be understanding your full situation, as I'm not there to see exactly what you're dealing with.
You may want to check-out "Sawing with Sandy" on CZcams as well. He has lots of great videos on these saws, and hundreds more hours of experience with them. Best of luck to you. Hope you get this sorted out soon.
