- 2014 Suzuki DL1000 VStrom, first Impressions after picking up the one owner bike, that had been sitting for a few years. Taking it home to go through the bike and replace the fluids and give it a once over. Love the big V-twin 1000 cc.

Howdy Brother DOC650, I think purchasing a Vstrom 1000 was inevitable, since that day in NC when your V1050 pulled my Tenere 6 bike lengths getting onto the freeway. 🤣😂 I never thought I would like a big heavy liter bike but the ride home through Montana was a game changer. I'm only keeping one of the 3 Vstroms that have made a nest in my garage.
Fantastic bike - I have a twin to yours and am also based in Phoenix. Just returned from a trip to Alaska and it ran flawlessly the entire trip - enjoy!

My 1050 was the one bike I regret getting rid of the most. Good call on the Strom!!!
The V1050 is an amazing bike, DOC650 has one and I partially blame him for me wanting a bigger bike when he smoked my T700 in the Outer Banks, NC this year. 🤣
Me: "Hi! I'm calling about the black Vstrom. Oh, sold already...okay. I'll call about the red one for sale..." 🤣

Absolutely great bike VW....I bet it's a comfy ride.
It's a good riding bike, its first maiden voyage was yesterday to Flagstaff at 7500 ft and it got me there and back. I really never thought I would enjoy a LARGE adventure-ish bike, but I haven't had to pick it up yet either. 🤣😂

Thanks Joe, put a thousand miles on it this week on two great rides. I bought it to remove the Givi hard bags and windshield and goes up for sale Tuesday. I really like the Vstrom 1000, I didn’t think I would.

It's a long story, and I refuse to tell unless there is FREE pizza and beer. A Black V1000 did follow me home from Missoula, MT not long ago. And it was a ride beyond words my friend. I only need one Vstrom.

Congrats! It's a clean bike man. Looks familiar 😁. The stock mirrors cause a lot wind noise. I changed mine and it's a super quiet ride now.
Thank you Greg, I appreciate the tip, changed every fluid last night. I have different mirrors and extensions on the V650 I’m going to try, and see if that helps. Cool kids have Red V1000’s

Thanks Rob, I actually had an amazing adventure two weeks ago on a Vstrom videos coming soon. Big Red and I are about to runaway from home. Spent yesterday and late into the night going over everything.

looks like a great bike! The only cmplaint I have with the Stroms is the ground clearance is a little to low for my liking but other than that they are great bikes...caution, bike may induce smiles for miles ;)
Thank you Brad, Vstroms are lower than a politician for sure, this is for extended travel dirt roads. DR650 & KLR still have a home. Great to hear from you.

You can do some long distance riding on that one!
I’ve done a long bucket list trip on it and it did very well. There’s a story behind getting it I’ll do a video on soon but I’m enjoying the V1000 more than the V650 so it’s up for sale.
