As we become adults, our relationships with our parents should change, but many people are still in a child-parent dynamic well into adulthood. Dr. Cloud talks about why you might find yourself stuck in that situation and what you can do to make a change. If you are going to have the best relationship possible with your parents as an adult you must be an adult yourself. Most of our struggles with our parents deal with unresolved dependency. Whether emotionally, financially, or spiritually, we must be free to be our own person and not still seek a need for approval from our parents. - Zábava
Ok I don't appreciate CZcams listening to my conversation then providing me sound advice without asking lmao
This video could not have come up at a more perfect time! It is exactly what I'm dealing with. ☺
Thank you God for guiding me to this extremely helpful guidance.
Husband's Narc parents - right nightmare - Homewreckers. Everything you have ... 'real...ated' here - is SOOOO ACCurAAATE !?!?! THANKYOU n BLESS YOU. X ;)
Thank you, this has been such a blessing.
Would you please do a video on how to recover from betrayal trauma?
Sometimes I regret having children!
Try making muffins for them, that will help you bond with them
Is there still a Dr. Cloud show to call in to? If so, would someone mind to share the number?
How do I deal with siblings who disagree with my boundaries towards taking care of parents? IE - not wanting a parent living with me permanently but willing to contribute towards living arrangements etc?
Absolutely never move a parent in. They will stay there until they pass. It can be 40 years of being the parent in that arrangement.
Got a sibling whose like mid 30s, depending on our parents, and an absolute nuisance to be around
Same except mine are 21 and can't get their shit together
This is usually a parenting problem, the parents spoil the child because of their own trauma of lacking in their childhood, so they try to live through their children which backfires
Give a teaching on how treat or respond to elderly parents
The question is how to be free? 🤦🏻♀️
We have devoted many years to our children to be dropped like a hot potato😢
were you emotionally neglectful?
