    I have not worked on tractors before but I think if you replace the ecm you have to calibrate the throttle by putting it to full throttle and back a few times before trying to start it.

    Heres a how to get basic diesels started after they have been sitting for a while. A good battery and jumper leads. The bigger the leads the better. fuel in the tank. Some where there will be a hand pump, either on the fuel filter housing or the side of the motor. This is initially to get the fuel from the filter to the injector pump. Follow the line from the pump to the injector pump and crack the nut loose on the line. Then pump the fuel up to the pump and tighten the nut on the line and secure the pump handle in its rest position. This may take a while. Crack the nuts on the injectors a quarter of a turn and crank the motor until fuel squirts out. Then tighten the nuts and crank it again. At this point it should start. you may have to do the last bit twice. If there is stillb air in the lines it may start and stop.

  • @chevyman7021

    Only crack lines to bleed, when you pull line off it will suck more air in. You will have to bleed all air out of lines to get it to run, once running it will clear code. Let run ten min at idle for computer to calibrate,then half throttle then so on. Have had to do this a few times myself.

    Thats the part that sucks with more modern machines having an ECU and electronic connections from the loud pedal to the fuel pump. There is a reason all our tractors have a rod or push pull cable between the fuel pump and throttle/stop . I see many machines stopped by a dirty ground or other connection fault out on farms. I'm going to one tomorrow, where he can't feed cattle because the electric controls messing around on his loader and the grapples not working , a dealer fitted a new hyd valve block and it never fixed it propperly. I'm guessing the switch or a wire they missed being bad and a big cost the guy didn't need.
    You'll love that Deere by the time it's going with what it'll cost. I was at Massey the other day for parts, the guy called me sir and said please when he told me the parts cost. I said well at least you are polite while I write the check for customer parts, Deere parts guys just say bend over ! He laughed and said he'd have to remember that for some of his other customers when they don't like their parts bills here in Canada. Thanks for the video, looking forward to part 3. Take care guys.

    You had my hopes up. You are on the right track with your tps sync. Mine had the return spring to break on the fuel pedal after I replaced the spring it would not start. This is the sure temporary fix turn the key to the running position after the lights and beeps stop slowly push the fuel pedal to the floor three times. Then turn the key off like you are going to remove the key. Wait a few seconds and then turn the key to start. It’s only temporary. But it will run

    Sounds like air in it I would crack lines and even change out the fuel filters with new ones just to narrow down the issues might even just be the line is plugged goin from the tank to the high pressure pump or I have even just rigged up a cheap electric in line pump to see if you can get it to fire or just to bleed out the air easier

    Drain the fuel tank to make sure there is no water in in. Put in fresh fuel. Then crack each line at the injector for a few seconds. It will then start right up. Avoid starting fluid like the plague....

  • @chadsmith14
    @chadsmith14 Před 4 lety

    Idk if you are doing this but anytime you have this trouble w a diesel hold the accelerator pedal on the floor or push the throttle lever behind key switch wide open to get it started and when it cranks let off of it. It makes a big diff on most diesels. Make sure the fuel tank is all the way full. On alot of equipment for some reason it also seems to help. If this thing doesnt have alot of bad exhaust leaks stick a rag or hand over exhaust yo kindof pit backpressure on it somehow. Idk what it really does but this will help it to crank also. Does this engine have one of the hand primer pumps for the injector pump

  • @chrissheathewoodguy
    @chrissheathewoodguy Před 4 lety

    All you have to do is crack the line you took off enough to bleed the air. You can't take it completely off or it draws air. Open the line enough to let fuel come out with the primer pump by hand. It will spit fuel and air for some time. You actually all most had it till you took the line to loose. The sensor code will clear after you get the air out.

    • @HamiltonvilleFarm

      Thanks. We gonna try that

    • @chrissheathewoodguy

      The John Deere we have is dam gravity fed. No hand primer. Pain in the rear. Every time I change the feul filter I go threw this to prime it. So I understand what it takes and how to do it. I've had lots of equipment and the can be a pain to prime. Crack the line about a turn. Pump the primer 30 times tighteen the nut turn the tractor over a few times . Pump the primer again 30 times slowly loosen the nut to let the air out. Then tighteen back up. Crank over a few times. You might have to do it several times . Each time the tractor will run alittle longer. Then it will stay running and run alittle rough at first then clear up. Once you get it running . Unhook the battery for a minute or two . Then hook the battery back up. That should clear the code.

    Starting fluid. Sometimes u will have a dry rotted fuel line sucking air or a injection pump that is not making enough pressure during cranking to pop the injectors or tell the computer to fire injectors. Either way a shot of the go juice will get it running just enough to over come those issues. Then if it is running fine and u shut it off and won’t start again u know where to start looking. Yes it’s not the technology way of doing things but it works and saves u from buy a bunch of tools. Especially with a tractor sitting that long would not surprise me if it had a dry rotted fuel line sucking air. The fact that your getting smoke makes me think that your getting close as I don’t remember smoke the first video. Good luck.

      Check hydraulic fluid levels 🤷‍♂️ I’d check with a local Deere mechanic

    RATS! Sounds like air to me too and there ought to be a bleeder on top of the fuel filter housing. Wished I was there but I ain't and with all the local assemblies shut down we just wadd up with our Bibles and have at it! You'll get it, Hank! It's done snorted too much not to run! Just a matter of time and a Deere man is the best shot right now!

    I’m not a mechanic, but judging by all the shit coming out of the exhaust pipe, that should certainly be explored. Pull the stack off and check inside as well as inside the muffler for anything that tried to make a nest in there. Also, the dude on the key needs to chill out. There were a couple times he would try to engage the starter when the engine was still trying to turn over.
