For real but I felt like this scene was kind of messed up and problematic! Like imagine Nate in this situation! He obviously doesn’t want anyone to know he is gay and this locker room part od the play is really messed up and definitely is bullying as everyone knows what the point of it was !

I’m sorry but to all the people who’s saying they’re outing Nate’s “sexuality” you do realize Nate has never mutter a word to anyone in his life about his sexual confusion he has towards potential men like if he’s saying it out loud and is then getting mad at Lexi, Ethan, and to all of the gym bro performers afterwards that’s on him
I hope he enjoys it cause Nate might legit murder him the very next time they meet💀. He already unhinged but after being mocked like that Ethan got a massive target on his back like fr
Now that I think of it I have never seen a single teacher throughout the entire show and the principal was only seen a few times when Kat’s video got leaked and the whole scandal of Nate choking Maddie😭
So... The school was totally okay with this happening and not at all interested in shutting down half-naked men on stage grinding on exercise equipment? Seems really unrealistic for high schools
The only reason this show is called euphoria is because it's a coin toss if a scene puts you in some kind of depression or EUPHORIA. And and this is EUPHORIA

I have a question: is it less expensive to use live version of songs? Because this isn't the studio version of Holdin' Out For a Hero, and this isn't the first time I've heard a live version of a song being used in a show or a movie. Is there a reason? Thanks!
Man I really do despise Nate as a character but having his sexuality mocked in such a grande/public manner was so horrifying to me? I know his sexuality is kind of up in the air currently, and this is probably just Lexi poking at his toxic masculinity, but imagine having this happen to someone at your high school-THE TRAUMA. That along with the heavy implication that Nate had been sexually abused by his dad only a few moments prior was so disturbing
Like out of context it’s a really funny scene, and I did find myself giggling especially with rue’s hilarious reactions but the fact that they’re in high school and sexuality is so difficult for some people to process and Nate has clearly been struggling for years with his……it’s all so messy and I don’t think we should be #girlbossing Lexi for this
@@supersailorchic98 isnt nate himself homophobic though too (even if hes coming to terms with his sexuality) I think lexi intended for the play to criticize his homophobic homosexuality
@@beebunzz5328 I know he’s used the f-slur a few times but aside from that I don’t think he’s done anything clearly homophobic in the show? I think it’s clear that he has internalized homophobia and that manifests in him shrouding himself with toxic masculinity. I think Lexi was ultimately criticizing the relation between Nate as a jock (often stereotyped as homophobic) with his violent misogyny and overall toxic behaviour, rather than trying to publicly out him as gay. It still didn’t sit quite right with me though, and I think that’s due to the way it was framed in the episode-bad writing if you ask me!
Do you know the only thing I guess I could hate about Hollywood is they give you false hope hope he’s nice but false hope is worse than reality even if it the reality is harsh because they show it was depicted like you having these moments of explaining yourself or redemption and that just doesn’t happen in life you have to continually eat it and press on… It’s too bad too because if we did everybody might be in a more healthier place
This episode made the show seem so unrealistic lmao. What high school allows a student to make a hyper sexualised show about her family and friends. And how tf does lexi know abt nates sexuality and why tf is everyone making it such a big deal
Cassie Told her and then double backed after being high on molly I don’t know why Maddie ever trusted here because when Cassie is caught in a liar she can’t never carry it through Lexi is very observant even when Cassie tried to prove it to her that it wasn’t true it sounded like she had been coerced into it
There’s layers to this but the non-spoiler version is Lexi made this play about all the main characters with the exception of Jules because she wanted to make a play from her perspective(she and Jules don’t interact much) bc Lexi views herself as the observer to all the madness going on with Rue, Maddy, Cassie, Cassie and Lexi’s mom and ofc Nate, so each part of the play is dedicated to each person and the way Lexi sees them/sees them develop, this prt is dedicated to Nate. Nate is obviously part of the football team and usually those kinds of guys are the ones who get the most offended if you call them or anything they do gay and make fun of others for being gay or doing stereotypically gay things but at the same time those same guys do gay things with eachother in the locker room/during practice, which of course is hypocracy and toxic masculinity which is what the play is making fun of. Spoiler version: In addition to what was said above, Nate himself has a scarring history regarding sexuality, his dad is a serial cheater and frequently sleeps with men or trans people, Nate’s father records all of his sexual encounters and keeps all of them on CDs, Nate eventually found these tapes when he was very young bearing witness to this, Nate is also very hyper masculine and dreams of having a pickett fence nuclear home with a hyper feminine wife, a few kids and the “standard” family life, so it is somewhat debated on but generally accepted that Nate is in denial to figuring out his sexuality aka if he’s really JUST straight ofc, bc in season 1 of the show, Nate is shown to be on a Gay dating app where he “matches” with the trans main character of the show Jules, he often says he has feelings for Jules and this is extra fucked up considering Nate’s father slept with Jules that of which Nate saw the tape of, and ofc there’s the fact that that he has pictures of a bunch of other mens penises on his phone. So Nate while being the stereotypical straight guy, has this whole history with sexuality and so this also contributes to his anger in some way because he obviously has underlying emotions regarding all of this, specifically how? the show doesn’t explain :)
Most people don’t seem to realize it’s not mocking Nate’s sexuality, it’s mocking his toxic masculinity and hypocrisy
Right. I wish shows did this more to point out that while it's ok to be closeted but it's not ok to hurt people with your hypocrisy.
Exactly
Nate certainly doesn't realize that.
If he laughed at it, this scene would've been completely powerless
I think that it’s pointing out how he can’t stand men liking each other because of how his dad is
Fezco and Lexi ended Nate Jacobs not once but TWICE! A power couple really
