    Always great stuff Tommy! If you own a 958 Cayenne it’s a bit different when reinserting the needle. It clicks in regardless of the angle you put it in, just make sure to align it at zero and it will function fine. The cayman and macan seem to only lock in at a specific point.

    This was very helpful!!! Was able to fix my tach needle which from the factory was put in wrong. Over time it was moving backwards sitting on 8k 7k then to 3k before I found out how to fix it. Porsche wanted to charge me $6200 to replace it!!!!!!

    I found it interesting that you said the mileage is stored in the gauge cluster. Wouldn’t that be one way for crooks to roll back mileage on these cars by buying the gauge from a totaled low miles 981?

  • @alexanderpecka

    I plan to do the same with my Macan GTS. But because I have the Porsche Approved warranty, I only have one question. Is this noted in the control unit if the speedometer is unplugged? I don't want to have any problems with the warranty.

  • @reacp9114
    @reacp9114 Před rokem

    great video. I'd like to do the same, except w a racing yellow tach for my 718. Buying a new or used module will cost thousands so it's not an option. The porsche 718 parts pdf does not show instrument faces. An outfit in germany shows seems to offer yellow faces. Did your aftermarket originate from germany? CZcams should allow PMs

Next time, maybe try wearing some cotton gloves in conjunction with the use of an appropriate pry tool for the job (to avoid damage to the overlays).
