Mick didn’t cry but I did - Ford was just so far in front with design and colours - that Walnut Glow was an incredible accent choice back in the day - thank you for recording an amazing paint resto - I can now see the skill and hard work - outstanding- cheers
Love the Burnt Orange & Walnut Glow. When I did my sister's blackouts on XB Coupe I changed where blackouts run on doors (usually) she wanted something a bit different so i just did the sills (Just over the rolled edge) in Satin Black. Did not come up to body line on door. But done the normal on wheel arches. Loved seeing this for creak at Hardtop Anniversary at Mildura last year.
Hi Mark, What a beautiful paint job, you are a wonderful craftsman. You obviously take great pride in your work. Thank you for showing your work in great detail for the restoration throughout all the episodes. I am a Holden man but I really love this coupe. It will be great for you as well to have recorded your work in years to come. Cheers Wheels
Just found your channel today. Mad respect for you and what you do as my uncle is life long body man/painter. Car looks great. Now I’m gonna check out more of your videos
Wow, you have certainly put in a huge effort into this car and it is a testimony to your skills, effort and knowledge as it shines through in the exceptional finnish. I think you will continue to get more recognition on CZcams. Keep plugging away at it, I enjoyed this video immensely and am sure many more will also. It's great video Mark, hopefully Mick can share his finished car in a future video.
Well Mark, Hi, from the UK. Top Marks for your work mate. Attention to detail is the cornerstone to any professional. I 100% agree with your advice, technique, application, and outcome. Its just my Sata's will never allow me to lay clear down at that speed. Need to move much quicker. This is more of a DeVilbiss gun rate. But, hey Horses for Courses. Stay blessed and safe mate!!!
I was looking at the flowing lines on the rear section, and noticed the rear panel where the tail lights go, it looks like the mad max intercepter , did I guess right? If so that's just too cool man !!! 😎
Thanks mate 👍There’s actually another video on here of me doing a HQ was my very first video . It’s pretty shitty compared with this XB video but again another example of my paintwork
Hi Mark i firstly great job on the XB Coupe , i was just wondering if you could tell me how you painted the door jams with the second colour and where you masked in them? Regards Clint
So I painted all of the insides first . While masking up the door jambs to paint outside I used fine line tape and masked right on the corner of the sill panel / door jamb
Thanks , Correct mate Vinyl half roof . Vinyl boot . Chrome trims go around the vinyl on roof . Chrome trims down rear quarter panels . I’ll make an update video soon of it all put back together . I’ve seen pictures it looks pretty good
really depends on the product . from memory i used 5 litres of orange . "basecoat" for the outside ., that was mixed 1:1 with thinner . so 5 litres . 10 in total. thats was for door jambs and insides of doors bonnet and boot.. then i used 3litres of DG 2k for the inside of the body, boot area and engine bay . clear coat i used 10 litres of clear . of a 4:1 clear "2 , 5 litre kits" i sprayed 3 coats
Hi thanks for your reply you are a artists for what you do watching your video I found all 2k paint process epoxy primer body filler epoxy primer high build primer you did a white ground coat base coat and clear as the top coat
@@michaeljohn8842 correct mate . Due to the main color being orange . Orange yellow red blues and green solid colors may take several coats to gain full coverage . By using a white base you will gain coverage a lot sooner . Saving on time and paint . It will also give you a cleaner brighter color

Bonnet came up AWSOME

Wow that's awesome Mark you do a top job
Cheers mate
You have great muscle memory from years of practice, that is for sure. Good core workout too holding all those positions at full reach!
Definitely takes some practice to pull off a job of this size . Those walcom 360 lights make it easier on the big panels .
Awesome work Mark, I don't know you but I feel like I do. You're not a tradesman, you're an Artist. Congrats to Mic!
Cheers mate
This came out amazing. I enjoyed watching the whole series.

No, thank you as this confirms, that I am NOT OCD or pedantic and have been doing something right all these years!!!
The change to the bonnet made a huge difference. Must of been a PITA to have to change it, but looks heaps better.
Slick job Mate. You're a gunn.
Well done,
Great work, it had some pretty average repairs when you got it. Turned out great.

Great result Mark. Mate how stressful is it getting the lines right? My OCD would be off the charts. 😂
Cheers mate . Honestly not that stressful , I use 18mm tape to keep them straight and block each side .
Nice jop what the step buy step from primer to clear how many litres and from reducer to thinners for each stage thanks Michael
